Hello there! Thanx for the vid, very helpful i think mine has the same problem like the one on the vid, but i just give it a little Gas and it starts, so wondering to change that piece, but can't find it, is it an after market option or only dealer? Thx in advance
Hi I have a question before you fixed the problem was the engine cranking on the starting buttom? Because I have a problem with an F800r 2010 .. it's been sitting in the garage for many years with very little petrol left in the tank...And I put new battery on it , the dash comes one and does all the checks. But I can't ear the starting relay and the fuel pump does nothing, when pressing the starting button
@@GordysGoodworks I have motorscan for bmw With a Bluetooth OBD2 scan it let me reset the service And I've checked no errors...I Even tried to run every test on every servos ..and the only thing that doesn't run it's the fuel pump...But what I'm trying to find out is Why doesn't crank ... It only cranks bypassing the relay but I don't get sparks on the spark plugs
Hi there. quick question. I do have a F800GS 2015 some times where the fuel tank is lower than 1/2, the engine starts to jump like if it is going to turn off. I identify that like 2 weeks ago during a long ride. Today when I was riding back home from my job, it started again and the fuel tank was again a bit lower than 1/2. If I go to the gas station and refuel it, the issue is no more replicable. I was thinking that perhaps the issue is something related to the fuel pump or the controller. However, how do I know that the controller is damaged? How to I diagnostic it? Thanks in advance for any tip you can provide.
@damorava follow the fuel tank vent lines, one is the cap overflow, the other goes the canister. If you wanna call me (812) 459-5657, or email me at gordy.roth@gmail.com and I can walk you through it.
2010 bmw f800 st I jumpstarted the half dead battery started up a 5-10 second later it shut of after that I charged the battery but won’t turn my over even if I put extra power to it . The only way my starter turns over if I put a direct power to the starter but still won’t fire up I replaced the starter solenoid and still nothing is it any reset on this Canbus system? I will appreciate any advice. Thank you!
My F800GT had a red sealing gasket, that was fine but the pcb protection compound had disintegrated as shown here - petrol was weeping everywhere which took some tracking down to the self same screw hole. This arrangement is a grim example of bad BMW design engineering, bad production standards and a careless disregard of the dangers of fuel leakage. Looking at your new controller the feet through which the screws fix it are actually standoffs: the feet are not solid. The screws are poor quality (for which BMW is well known), coarse threaded in the style of a self tapper and screw directly into plastic. Over-tightening may cause the plastic base to be lifted and/or cracked even. The reason for the absence of solid or filled feet is a mystery. It took two attempts at silicon filling of the screw hole to stop the weep past the new screw, not wishing to remove the whole fuel pump arrangement again unless it becomes necessary to more extensively rework it. Meanwhile do not be tempted to overtighten the two controller mounting screws. Hope this helps someone as this video helped me originally. I have just been able to examine a 2016 onwards F800GT, the controller has been moved into the main electronics although the space for it remains. There is now just one connector which appears to carry the controlled (PWM) voltage line to the pump and the level sensor wires. Problem eliminated at long last.

Does the gear indicator show neutral?
@@GordysGoodworks Yes
@alessandromarrone5355 next step would be hook a gs911 or motoscan to it and see what codes it gives you.

@alessandromarrone5355 next step would be get a service manual and start testing the circuits against the wiring diagram with a multimeter

Have you already bypassed the carbon canister?
@@GordysGoodworks unfortunately I have no idea where is it ?

@@Francis101Brbcs there's nothing to reset, if it still won't run there's another problem you haven't found.

"Don't try this at home" Then don't bother making a video about it!
