Welcome to our tour of the Grand Design Solitude 310GK! This beautiful 5th Wheel Trailer is designed for full-time RV'ers like you. We love this unit. If you have any questions, please drop us a comment (please don't reply to THIS comment as we might not see it). Thanks for watching!
We have had ours for over a year and love it. It is especially wonderful with the large fresh water capacity of over 100 gallons for boondocking in the wild!
your channel was recommended by the r v odd couple. thank you for the tour, I love seeing new designs. I wish you all the best in your travels. subscribed and liked.
Thank you so much for watching, commenting and joining. We are so excited with the number of amazing and positive people like you that have joined us today. Thank you again, 💙Norm & Kim
Great job...I really enjoyed seeing this and the differences in the Grand Design models. All of them are really beautiful. I subscribed....best of luck to you and looking forward to your journeys in your new RV.
Hey Jennifer, thank you SO MUCH for joining our community of amazing, positive people. We enjoyed our journey searching for our perfect RV and Grand Design had a lot of great options. Thank you for subscribing! Do you RV? If so what do you have? All the best, 💙Norm & Kim
Rich Turner thank you. The 310 was at the top of our list until we looked at the Solitude S-Class 2930 last week. It’s 7” shorter but weighs a lot less. We really didn’t want to have to get a DRW 1 ton pickup. In our opinion a 1 ton SRW will work for the 2930. Other than that we LOVE the 310.
@@MountainBeaches That is a nice layout and I did look at it before - briefly. I'm sold on the East-West bed because that gives you more storage area in the nose area. Plus the 310GK gives you lots of counter space on both sides of the stove. I've seen too many designs that show the stove right up next to a cabinet on one side which gives you no room to put a skillet or pan handle except over an adjacent burner something I (or my wife) is not overly fond of doing.
Thanks so much. What are your other two choices? We LOVE the 310 but actually ended up buying the Reflection 303 because we wanted something a little smaller.
New Friend here. We are just starting on journey into full time RV’ers. We too are looking at Grand Design 5th wheels. Have two different models we are leaning towards.TFS!❤️
The Feathered Cottage With Dee what models are you looking at? Thanks for watching. If you haven’t subscribed we’d invite you to consider subscribing to our channel. It’s FREE :)
I especially like the solitude 310gk. I do some boondocking in my fifth wheel right now. Having that extra wide with allows the couch to be a little larger and easier for a 6-foot four guy like me to lay on. I'll be looking for a deal within the next few months for one of these. Believe it or not one of the nicest features I like is the pull out trash can. Lol
Jim, good luck in your search. Most people we have spoken with have been able to get somewhere around a 30% discount off of the MSRP on their purchase of a 310.
We are looking at 3 different grand design travel trailers the 2600RB the 2500RL and the 2450RL all 2020.Buying new you really take a hit .We have had 2 other trailers which we bought used.We really like the new colors and we would love to buy used but the colors are not like the 2020.How much do you lose buying new? We are lucky cause we can pay cash and don't have to get a loan. There are so many things we love about all 3 of these trailers. We aren't getting any younger so guess we will brake down and buy a new one.Its just hard to pick which one we like of the 3 and we already know you can never get everything you like in one unless you build it yourself. My husband is a finish carpenter and built our house and redid the inside of the trailer we have now.Love you channel just found it today.
Thank you so much Terry for you comments and for following us. We are honored. This is the first time we have ever purchased a new RV and to be honest we have no regrets. Yes, there is a big depreciation hit you can take but if you buy right, it's not that bad on a Grand Design because they hold their value. We searched for a year looking at new and used and it turned out we were able to buy our 2020 for only $5 - 6,000 more than a used one that was a couple years old. Another thing to consider is if you plan to keep it for a long time, it doesn't matter and you are better off buying new. That was our approach. Here's a link to a video we did talking about negotiating the best price. We purchased in Idaho and were able to get 31% off of MSRP when we purchased. Good luck and keep us posted on your decision. ruclips.net/video/H8wdJxz9xtc/видео.html
Mountain Beaches we have had our 310gk for about 2 months, it’s a used 2017 that was in excellent condition, with about $2500 in extras from the previous owners. Paid $51k, we have been on two, 4 day trips, and currently live in it in our front yard until the house sells, we love it!!
@@MountainBeaches We bought a used 2017 310 GK- it was on consignment at Gander RV in St. Augustine. There were only 2 used anywhere near us so we grabbed this one.-Alice
For 59K you have to pull the trigger on that one! I love it as well while watching this in Jan. of 2020! Happy New Year to you folks! Will this be a full time rig for you folks? Just curious because me and the wife have been considering this option. Just pulling the plug and getting away from it all and living life.
While we LOVE the 310 we ended up going with the Reflection 303. It has a very similar floorplan in a smaller package. The smaller size and weight was important to us. We are not full time RV'ers but consider ourselves part time full time. We are planning trips that will be months long in the very near future. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
I personally think a Dually is best (just because you can, doesn't make it a good choice). The 310GK isn't a monster, but we "Full Time" in it, and that increases its weight. A early old school (Low Mileage) F-350 Dually here). 7.3 liter.
Totally agree with you on the dually for the 310. That's one of the reasons we didn't go with the 310 and went with the Reflection 303 instead. We just did not want a dually. Thanks for sharing.
We have the Reflection 303 and considering the Solitude 310 next. But don’t like all the windows. Windows not a good thing when camping in 90 degrees tropical climates
Interesting point. We're not familiar with camping in that climate. I know they offer double pane windows but they're not really considered a thermal pane. I've heard the blinds provide more R value than the double windows do.
Thanks so much for answering and I did see that video.I think we will try and sell our trailer first cause we don"t want to store 2 trailers. Then maybe buy next winter get a new one since its better to buy in the winter and at the end of the month. When you guys are traveling and near Mammoth Lakes looks us up Email and we can meet up. See you someday, Terry
Note to the manufacturer, it’s nice but when you’re paying that kind of money you should always have dovetail drawer construction. When you can see obvious corners cut, it makes you wonder where the corners are cut that you can’t see
A 3 burner stove that cannot heat 2 twelve inch pans at the same time is not a grand kitchen. Cooking / entertaining is a huge part of the adventure and every manufacturer overlooks the fact.
Yea, you’re right. For us not being full timers it works just great. Don’t know that we ever plan to cook Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner in the RV but I’m sure there are many that so.
OK so I like Grand Design and they do listen to their customers, BUT I think some of their finishes are mediocre at best. We have a 2019 Reflection 367BHS model. We live in it daily and travel the country for work. Really not impressed with the finishes on their cabinetry. They wear terrible, this is just an observation.
Hey thanks for the feedback. This is our first Grand Design product so we hope our experience is better. We did a TON of research on lots of different brands and Grand Design kept coming up as the top or one of the top RV's. We also realize these are homes on wheels going through constant earthquakes so no matter what you get it's going to require some maintenance. We'll have to keep an eye on the cabinet finish now. Is there anything special you do now to protect the finish? Thanks for the heads up!!! 💙Norm & Kim

This is probably one of my favourite layouts... Excellent review!
Thanks for watching Dean. Little by little we're improving :)
😮gorgeous rig! Thanks for showing.
You bet. The Solitude 310 was our #2 choice. It is beautiful for sure!
Great looking camper
Dru-Anne, yes the Solitude 310 is an AMAZING RV. It's not what we ended up going with, for a lot of different reasons, but we still love the 310.

The show price for that 310gk was awesome, $60K, should have grabbed it
It was a GREAT price. At that point we just weren't ready to make a decision. We actually ended up getting a Reflection 303RLS. 💙Norm & Kim

Good point you made. You should share it with GD too. So far everything has been great with our unit.
When you buy middle of the road that’s what you get, if you what dovetail buy Luxe or Drv or Redwood
