Great video Larry! I really appreciate you man! An OG in comics lol. It’s nice hearing from people that are a bit older and have been in the comic community for so long. No disrespect of course in regards with my comment on your age 😊
Another great video, Larry! Thanks for the content. I definitely want to give Sara a read early this year. I also started a LoTR reread with audiobooks on my commute recently, so it is nice to see other still reading the classics.
Have you ever read the Spaniard detective noir comics "Blacksad"? I love that all the characters are anthropomorphic animals, yet nothing further than "disneyfied" sanitized versions of humanlike animals. And the art is great!
I second the recommendation for Blacksad! @LarrysLibrary I think you'd really dig it. The hardcover book from Dark Horse just titled 'Blacksad' has the first three stories in it.
Id wager more people than we imagine haven't gotten around to reading their copies of Return of the King, and even more so for the Silmarillion, which I suspect may be the most bought but never read book of all time.
How bizarre. I left a sizeable comment and it's disappeared?! Utube often does this. The Twilight man I concur is superb! Many moons ago I mentioned the outstanding Catwoman of East End omni to you. You said you had it but hadn't read it yet. That must still be the case, otherwise it would be on your list 👍 Happy new year Larry.
@@LarrysLibrary Please correct that and soon! I guarantee you will thank me afterwards as your jaw drops throughout your reading. It's that good. I'm not even a Catwoman fan or superhero fan to be fair...I bought it because of Brubakers writing and Cooke's Art. Best £45 for a new Omni I've ever spent. ✌️👍
@@LarrysLibrary I'll be amazed if it doesn't blow you away. It's dark and serious noir crime. I understand leaving books bought for awhile before reading though. I've just started reading the invisibles omnibus by Grant Morrison and it's been sat on my shelf for over a year! With this new year's start I felt now is the time. It's a great read too I'm happy to say.
@@geminisundone I TRY to maintain a FIFO (First In First Out) reading order insofar as my Unread Shelves. I do make some exceptions though. So often there are long waits between buying and reading. Love the vid! Recently found you on my RUclips feed and your content is great :) - have you ever read the Witcher series? Currently on the third book and I’m loving it :)
Thanks so much! I haven't read the Witcher books yet but I do love the character (dabbled with the games). I probably should get them sometime. How many volumes are in the original series?
@@LarrysLibraryAhh i’m going to try the games after I’ve finished reading the series - there’s 5 in the original saga but i believe the extended witcher series has 8 books (with three of them being prequels i think). Also thank you for the reply 😊
If you like fantasy check out The Blade Itself for a good introduction into modern fantasy. If you want to sink a bit and read the best fantasy of all time for many contemporary readers check out the 10 big books by Steven Erikson called Malazan Book of the Fallen. This will stretch you. It stretched the hell outta me. I head to reread the first two books to kind of get what was going on...
Cool list Larry. From the half of these that I've read I can safely say you have excellent taste in comics. Interesting including prose in the mix...I've never thought of doing that when looking back on the year's reading and making a list.
Thanks Damian! I read a LOT more comics than anything else so I wouldn't have enough prose for too long of a list anyway! But I am reading more and more since committing to a better schedule.

Have you read the Brandon Sanderson Mistborn series? I think you'd really like it.
I haven't. Is that a prose series?
Sara is something I’ve been interested in for a long time. I really need to check that one out. Great video, Larry!
