I can't explain in words Barry, your explanation in the "feelings" of the house, birthdays/Christmas's, tells us what kind of person you are and also your sweet interactions/words with Molly. You took a tired home and made her into a beauty. Praying the best for your family and on to more adventures 🙏

Yes Barb! Who knew that Barry has a hidden soft spot for all the things he spoke of....I actually got tears as he was describing the lifetime events of the original owners...and knowing it ended in hospice just grabbed my heart. Barry (and obviously Molly too) comes from two wonderfully kind parents-and it shows.

What a beautiful home. The new owners will have a fantastic place to live. All the choices you made were perfect. I look at this house and dream what it would be like to live there. I too would want a food storage area, large garden, larger window in the 'den', swings, paint the front door a cheerful color, A dream home. Thank you for sharing

The design choices are pleasing. The new family can live comfortably and slowly transform to their own tastes. If I had a formal living room, it would remain empty or turn into a playroom. I’m still having trouble trying to outfit my great room. Putting stairs and making the fourth garage a root cellar is a great idea.

@@paulh1745 Apparently you didn't read the second half of my comment where I said "We're just happy it's under contract". I count my blessings every day...
5 months ago, when we bought the house, housing prices were much higher than they are now. If we had bought the house now we would have paid MUCH less. Our realtor said that had we sold it, all fixed up, the day after we bought it, the price would have been much higher. So, yes, I did think about it.
Also "Maybe you naysayers ought to try that for a change"? Really? Thank you for lumping me in with people who don't care. You have no idea who I am, you just come across angry. :)

You made some good neutral choices for the new owners. I agree the mantle really needs a larger piece of wood and I'd had a gas range. I would have loved a drop in or wall oven though. I still think that a concrete stain on the exterior stone would have been a good decision, because that's not like paint, but you guys did a GREAT job! Hope you made what you need. A renovation is hard work.

It has been great to see you start and finish this project, and it is so beautiful! It is meaningful that this was a house/home rescue as well as a financial endeavor. I'm glad you shared how you personally felt about taking on this project. All of you put a lot of good vibes into this beautiful place! I'm glad it is selling so fast which I was sure it would! I would love to meet the new homeowners and hear them talk about how much they love it and anticipate living there and what they might have in mind for the carport and adding a few things to what you have so expertly done to this really great property! That would be a really nice final video! You might be able to convince them to do that! They would get a lot of love from a lot of people out here - kind of a digital house warming! I think we have a personal feeling about the home and want to know what happens next, who is going to live there? Not that it's any of our business of course! It's great that now you can start on your own project, which sounds awesome!!

We too live debt free as seniors, yet we know folks our age (70’s) or older who still have mortgages and car loans; they always complain about a lack of money. You are still in the prime of life and have already secured your family’s future by following Biblical principles and living without debt. May God continue to Bless you all.

  • @nel895

Love the root cellar idea. Maybe the new owners will do that. Like the idea of a wall dividing the main garage. We would do that so my husband could have separated mechanic and woodworking shops, but so many people want to park 2 cars inside. Best let the new owner decide. Like using the cistern. I hope the new owner does. Seems like a very attractive property for someone who wants to be as self sustaining as possible, so maybe so.
Found the music room idea interesting. Formal living rooms are so seldom used and that would be a very good use of the space.
Found it humorous that the men like carpet and the woman don't. As a woman who has struggled and failed to keep carpet clean, I love the hard floors in my current home, but my husband still longs for carpet. He likes the cushy surface underfoot. I have always preferred clean smooth floors.

All of the design and color choices you made in this renovation were brilliant! Of course, if you were renovating the home for yourself, you would have made different choices, but since this home was being renovated for resale, you made the absolute right choices by giving the new buyer a neutral blank palette upon which to add their personal tastes and preferences. I am willing to bet that the new owner will not be making too many changes since Molly's design and color selections were so spot on especially the kitchen design and color selections. The black shutters on the exterior were a great final touch!
Good to hear that it looks like you have found a buyer at the price that you want. I was astounded when I heard how low the asking price was for this home. In Canada where I am from you will not find a home of this size that is essentially brand new on that amount of STUNNING acreage for less than a million dollars even in the smallest cities (in the Toronto area this would easily be over $2 million).
I will say that I'm sorry to hear that this is your last complete home renovation. I first came to your channel when you renovated the hoarder home which was a great series and this project with your dad went even faster with spectacular results. Looking forward to seeing what you do in the future.

I would have put the electrical plugs on the side of the island and not on top. I hate those round circles on top of the island. I follow many channels, but there are few that I follow because I feel they are not sincere!!
Thank you for the nice words in the final minutes of the video, I was moved!

I showed this video to my future husband cuz he wanted three garages and I wanted a downstairs and a place to make a garden sad to hear it was up for sale and it was already taken I sent the video anyways telling him to look for a place something like yours which will be hard to find

Molly is right about carpet. Even if you go barefoot, after a few months it is still like walking on dirty sweaters - yuck yuck. Carpets are dirt, germ, and odor magnets - for years.
The colors are perfect Molly! Garages are for cars. Build a shop if needed.

However, the more germs you're exposed to over time the better your immune system. I work in some of the most disgusting places on the planet and I never get sick! So, logically, we should have carpet everywhere! For our health! :P

Agreed. Not a germaphobe here either. But still don’t care for the idea of walking on dirty sweaters. Add area rugs if needed.
Love following the work you do. We have been looking for a few years for a similar property. For the areas of the country we are looking, and for the OUTSTANDING work y’all did on this house… someone is getting a steal.
May God richly bless you, Molly, and your father. Much mad respect from us. ✝️👍

Thanks for a fantastic video that I didn't even know was needed. While I've been a little bummed out about y'all being finished-this perked me up when you started talking about your studio...YAY!- more videos to come. Would love to see videos of Molly canning with the seasons food available and teaching us how to do it. It's been too long, AND I have forgotten how thanks to a traumatic brain injury. Watching someone do things is how I now learn best. Thanks to you all for the best renovation series I have ever watched. Great job everyone!

Hey there, me too. Mine happened at work, a box was pushed off of a shelf and landed of my head in 2017. Can't believe it was 5 years ago. Sometimes it feels like it just happened but I've had a lot of progress. Concept of time is a bit messed up. But yeah, learning something new and remembering the how to's of anything always goes better with a video. And even then I repeatedly rewatch everything! So canning videos etc would be great.

Thanks for sharing this little tidbit. My idea for one of my former back yards would have been what you said about Barry's plus part of it could have accommodated my hubby as well because he loved to hunt.
Anyway job well done and GOD bless your family!

In back yard would be for my grandkids! My plants would also be on the window seat! wish I could buy it, but I am happy that someone will enjoy it.good job!! Thx for this series
