That time the A&W restaurant was doing the 1/3 lb burgers as opposed to McDonald's 1/4 lb burgers, and they lost a lot of money because people believe that 1/4 is bigger than 1/3. A person in the hospital can be told that they are bleeding internally and be very happy because that is where blood should be anyway.
Story 8 : I can't help but laugh, her wedding falling apart, mister missing a spine to react, and OP watching the disaster unfolds, like "yeah, keep up the mad job, i'm planning my divorce right now !" 🤣🤣🤣
All the first guy had to do was tell the company how big his garden was and how deep he wanted the soil to be and the would have been happy to calculate how much he needed.
Coffee story, from my experience old people are either the nicest people you will ever meet or the biggest Chad/Karen you will ever meet I fully believe that she didn't have an issue hearing she just refused to listen.
for your day to day metric to imperial converstions... 1 meter is roughly 3 feet 1 square meter is roughly 10 square feet 1 cubic meter is roughly 35 cubic feet if you need precise measurements, there are several online tools to help with that
Story 3: Had this happen when I worked at a pretzel place. Had a teenager want a combo (comes with sauce and med drink) and as I had the cup in hand, I kept asking what kind of drink she wanted. All she told me was a medium drink. It took about 5 minutes for her to realize what I was asking for. Like... it happens.
Regarding the "stupid tax" segment (the one with 8.25% sales tax versus a 10% discount), there's a good possibility the customer left feeling he won because "the governor didn't get his 8.25%" (as if the governor pocketed the money personally).
Yeah, one of my retail jobs did a tax-free promo. Some people thought they were going to be charged no tax, and that was the draw. The price ends up the same, but the tax man always gets his. Stores can't just decide to not charge tax in order to boost business. I think you're right that this guy valued screwing the tax man over saving the extra 2.5%, despite that not being how it works.
Anyone that works somewhere that demands to talk to a deceased person to cancel somethin needs immediately fired. How stupid and delusional do you have to be to demand to talk to someone that’s dead? And I will never understand why people seem to think that someone else’s wedding should go their way. Uumm it’s not your day, it’s theirs. You aren’t anyone besides a guest at their wedding plain and simple.
For someone calling in on behalf of a deceased person the company is supposed to have a process to handle that. Generally speaking there is a department that verifies the deceased where you would send in the death certificate. The fact that this particular agent did not bother to explain that or didn't even know that is really the issue.
Story 5 : bartenders are supposed to sell alcohol, bonuses are sometimes related to the number of drinks, not the real bill : sell non-alcoholic beverage for the price of an alcoholic cocktail ? Of course ! Boss is happy too : he sold fruit juice for the price of a cocktail, triple value !! But for 1/3 the price. Alcohol is the main cost...
First Story - Yup, pretty good with cubic measures but, then again, I went to college for science/tech. Things are generally far easier in the Metric System too. Seventh Story - That reminds me of the time that A&W tried to take the burger market from McDonalds 1/4 Pounder by selling a 1/3 pound burger. It failed. Why? When polled consumers essentially told them it was because 4 was more than 3.
The tax free dude probably never returned because once he got home he realized how stupid the staff must have thought of him and didn’t want to show his face again.🤣
Am I the only one that thinks all the elderly people that go around getting all huffed and puffed and ticked off over $0.10 and a in the name of a senior's discount is pathetic and kind of messed up. I mean me I'm not going to cry over such a small discount. I mean if someone wants to give it to me, I'm not going to refuse it. Not that I'm that old yet. I'm just saying it seems like kind of a petty thing to be crying about
Bartender probably got heck for discounting coke from the boss and was glad the designated driver caught on and asked for the right thing.

Story 3: That sounds like a potential lawsuit because it's possible to choke on a coin.
The fact that the sale tax isn't included in the pricetag on the shelf to begin with is just..🤦♂️

#1. This is why I let the professional help
TBH, it’s the same with me I suck at math Distance, dimension and things of that nature although I can properly measure ingredients for recipes
Story 2 also happened to me. DM treated me the same way when I did what OP did, so I told off DM before quitting.
Korean airline even have a small weight at the desk to measure your personal bags.
Nice burn making fun of all the adults who ask for the final price since they can not calculate sales tax.
8.25 v 10 - this doesn't surprise me, considering how many people don't understand fractions.
Sales tax story. Probably thought was getting 10% off but still have to pay tax
Math major here, I would be fine
Good afternoon. Thanks for the stories. Putting a coin in a cup is not a good idea. Potential deadly situation. Have a great day
Second story I worked at a place like that and new management said f that you get paid for everything.
Round my local designated drivers get their waters and cokes for free. Also they'll pay for a cab if you got more toasted than you intended to.
Yes its very easy once your start working with 3d designs
Qubic and square mesurements are easy. It is ither length x with, or length x with x thickness

You should just read the stories instead of breaking it down and giving opinion on each one.
