I think John and Neil hit it on the head. The magic of Time Team, why it makes such a difference even to the archaeologist, is having all those experts working together. Being able to communicate directly with each other, something most excavations don't have. It not only makes for great viewing, but makes for great archaeology.
Being from America I only discovered the show about 6 years ago and I've seen all the episodes I can find multiple times. It's great to see so many of the old team back together, I'm so looking forward to the new adventures that will be coming.
I'm from the states also, but iv only been aware of it for the last year or two and iv absolutely binged my brains out on it, il get bored with whatever else I'm watching at least once a week and revert back to classic time team just to break my funk.
I'm right there with ya both, live in MN and found Time Team about 6 monts ago. I binged out. I've seen every episode at least twice, I even found a couple on the Odyssey channel and on Timeline.
Like other long-term fans have said, I'm over the moon that Time Team is back, while still feeling nostalgic about the old team, and missing Mick, Phil and Tony. Perhaps Phil will make some guest appearance digs. I do wish Sir Tony would have joined to present again, but sometimes you just have to move on. Perhaps there might be some role for him from time-to-time. I'm very excited about the new tech. Here in New Hampshire, in the US, we metal detectors use LiDar all the time to find lost cellar holes deep ion the woods. When I find British colonial coins here, I think of Time Team.
Lawerence and Derek who have been doing these “behind the scenes” bits have been a great hosts so far. I haven’t got a feel for Gus and Natalie yet who are Tony’s official replacement.
Grew up with time team and I’ve been working through the 20 seasons and specials over the past months. Have loved seeing the group age and progress in their careers, and the technology improve. It’s incredible how many of the “original team” have come back together and it’s a testament to the quality of the program. Cannot wait to watch!
It's a mix of emotions watching this. So great to see TT back and with so many familiar faces from the original run, though slightly sad not hear Phil or Tony's dulcet tones (hopefully they'll make a small cameo at some point in the future if any more episodes are made). Very excited to see the new shows.
I agree. Phil and Tony were really great! I've just barely scratched the surface of the Time Team videos and now the new ones are here. I'll never catch up. My dad passed several years ago and I Know that he'd be making sure he got to watch this. Keep it up. History was Never as interesting and fun in school and I've been out of school over 50 years!
I’m from the US in Colorado and every time I stick a shovel in the ground, I get dirt. If I found a skeleton I would scream, faint, wake up, call the police, and 2 friends for emotional support….not sigh and say ‘guess the garage plans are delayed’ and phone the local archaeologist. We do have stone arrowheads sometimes, but nothing else survives from that period and our oldest buildings are around 100 years old in the west and around 200 in the east . That’s just so fascinating to me. I only recently discovered the show and it has helped me while I struggle with personal loss. I love the history and the personal stories that can come to life once again, and I love imagining that these could be MY ancestors too (my family arrived to the US in 1902 from N England). It has left me with the feeling that I do have roots after all. My favorite episode was when they found the young woman with her hair still braided down the side of her shoulder along with the ancient script, although they are all so well done!
The buildings at Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado USA were built between 550 AD and 1300 AD. Thats much older than 200 years by my math. The buildings are still there. We can walk through them.
But in the Uk the archeology is in many many back yards not just a few isolated sites. As Tony often said, the best TT episodes were when they got to completely trash a garden.
Gwendy you captured my thoughts and feelings too as I have watched nearly all the episodes from my home in Philadelphia. Yes, we find really old and interesting things throughout this land, but it's not the same for the reasons you explained. And as Americans it makes us ponder our roots even more. Thanks for sharing.
Still a great group of people with plenty of enthusiasm and the willingness to take time to help people understand our history which sad to say is now lacking in our schools. Keep going guys. Loving it.
I only discovered the show on RUclips a few months ago. I spent a long, hot summer in the desert Soutwest (USA) watching episode after episode. I got hooked immediately. Super psyched to see what's coming!
I'm glad Time Team lives on. What always bothered me before was that only 3 days was given to try and answer something that needs more time. I'm sure their time before and after the digs was part of their work week, but still only 3 days had to have been frustrating not only for the viewers, but to the team itself at times.
I've always watched Time Time. It's my go to programme and has helped get me through bad times. It's magical to see it re-emerging I'm interested to see what's happened with the technology. Both archaeological and the media kit. Perhaps do some catchups with the previous participants who aren't appearing this time ?
SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!! It will feel strange without the odd chaps like Mick and Phil, and without Tony of course, but i believe it will still be amazing!! I remember rainy days putting Time Team on and spending hours watching while i played with lego on the floor 🥰
I'm gonna sound like a commercial but i feel it was so worth it for me (and thousands of others probably 😄) to join the Patron and play a part in making this happen
I liked the show where they found their first gold coin. They'll made ajustments to the pursuit of knowledge when they finally came across the coin and worked out how it possibly got there. And at a specific location where there didn't appear to be a location as described. But the excitement on everybodies faces when they'd gathered together at the end of that show was the best. It was a great team effort.
Same! I heard the reasons, but never really understood why they'd end such an amazing show. Broke my heart. Not a month has gone by since then when I haven't said, "Why don't they bring it back?" -- Important work and very interesting!
Great stuff. Even though I cannot seem to hold attention long enough to watch all the Patreon coverage (it's really extensive), I enjoy these shorter, refined edits very much.
They might not have lines this time around, but in all the behind the scenes with time team episodes you see that they did have scripts to follow in later seasons.
John Gater was obviously raised on Python. Can't wait for the show, and now for something completely different. No parrots were injured in a motor vehicle crash on the M1.
What's the biggest time team Discovery? What episode is it? I'm from america and have been none stop watching these episodes and it's usually the same old things. Wall here wall there, ditch here and there. Don't get me wrong I still live it but what's the biggest episode? Please can someone tell me so I can watch please.
All are talking about how cool it is to be putting the band back together again. But none have mentioned missing Tony and Phil and how it is just not quite the same without them. I'm very disappointed.
I understand why Tony bowed out-he’s super busy as it is (I’m not sure when he sleeps!) And I’m hoping that the digs for next year mesh better with Phil’s commitment on the Waterloo dig, so he can do at least one. I’d love to see him and Matt banter again!
Tony is 75 years old now, so maybe climbing in and out of dig holes would be a bit much for him? Shame though because he was such a big part of the programme.
No it won't and I'll miss Phil a lot too - but at least it's back! Why we need two presenters is a mystery to me, particularly two people I have never heard of. One well known 'face' who has an interest in archaeology would have been better I think.
I’m launching my own diversity coaching business and I can’t afford the Patreon membership right now … but if this isn’t the best motivator to get my [bleep] together and make sure it’s launched on time (or early!) so I **can** subscribe, I don’t know what is!
The new 2021 digs will be available on this channel for all to see. Release schedule is still TBA, so please watch this space! In the meantime, you can see a behind-the-scenes look at our Cornwall dig here: ruclips.net/video/TCYdO87Y0zg/видео.html
I will forever miss Mick but it's so wonderful that a new generation will fall in love with archeology because of this.
I think John and Neil hit it on the head. The magic of Time Team, why it makes such a difference even to the archaeologist, is having all those experts working together. You can watch every episode on RUclips
Same deal here, Rob!
Same in Wisconsin, Rob! 5 years. I'd give so much to be able to view the entire series.

They probably couldn't afford tony without the TV budget

So fantastic to hear the original Team and the new members being so happy and excited about everything that’s happening.

You have pueblos dwellings many centuries older than that in your state. Plenty of dinosaur era finds, all sorts of archaeology there.

Been watching and enjoying Time Team for years, way back on Channel 4. In my ideal world among other things, every country should have its Time Team
Much love from the USA❤
Thank you one and all. It was really pleasant to hear from some team members in this format!
Great to have Time Team back!
The nostalgia! What a great bunch and you’ve made a lot of people happy. Looking forward to you coming back. Tony would make a great special guest!
So glad their back can't wait for new episodes
I'm so glad to hear this news of time team 2.0.
It's so great to hear from all these guys. They really do feel like my old friends.
Awesome video Time Team!!!! Thank you 😊

So proud to support Time Team ✌️💚
Good evening from Oslo, Norway
What a great advert for the patreon!
Not nearly enough play on this series coming back!!! Super excited for the new episodes
greetings from San Francisco Bay Area...cheers mates
I grew up watching these guys. Tony was my inspiration, awesome to see this back again. Thank you guys!

Bloody brilliant.
Its about time!!!
Getting ready to hear from friends old and new
YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A shout out to Mick Ashtons sweaters!!! They were somehow part of the Time Team experience.
Great stuff. Even though I cannot seem to hold attention long enough to watch all the Patreon coverage (it's really extensive), I enjoy these shorter, refined edits very much.
I always thought that 'Geophys and the Fieldwalkers' was a great name for a progressive folk-rock band.
Love this! Makes my heart sing!! :) xoxox
God i love John.
So exciting ❤️from🇺🇸
Can’t wait to see the new series! where can we see this, which channel and when?
The new 2021 digs will be available to watch right here on this RUclips channel. The release schedule is still TBA, so please watch this space!
Loving the striped mugs in the Mick Mobile - now if we could just get those with the TT logo .....
Yes! TT schwag, please!
Where is Phil?
Where is Phil Harding?
Cannot wait
So fun to see the coming together again for the digging of history :o)
This is the best.
Great video
They deserve to be back on 4
I'm not sure C4 would give us as much as what we get out of it now.
After the way it ended 4 doesn't deserve then back....
If you can give patreon and you like TimeTeam, but havent yet donated, what are you doing?
Broke
@@ginilester4490 I said if you can, if you cant like me. Thats fine
They might not have lines this time around, but in all the behind the scenes with time team episodes you see that they did have scripts to follow in later seasons.
I would watch this just for Mr. Gater. Missed that beaten down cynical hope.
I've only just started watching the earlier seasons so it's really something to see Season 3 John Gater and then switch to this video!
I love John and the way he embraces his role as Designated Time Team Curmudgeon.
Definitely needs Phil and Tony back.
I hope Victor Ambrus is there to draw his incredible scenes. I have 10 books with his work in, all are brilliant
It great to see time team back hope Tony Robinson is going to be involved again
John Gater was obviously raised on Python. Can't wait for the show, and now for something completely different. No parrots were injured in a motor vehicle crash on the M1.
Fantastic seeing this develop. Too bad uncle Phil didn’t stop in for chat-or a pint!
Isn’t he in France? He’s been working on the Waterloo dig for awhile.
@@schoolingdiana9086 Shouldn't he be in Belgium to be able to dig in Waterloo?
Where's Raksha?
WHEN are NEW Episodes Airing?

Woohoo 🤸♀️🤸🤸🏼♂️

Llygadwy should not be missed.
Suzannah is a fabulous presenter on tv, can you tell me which of the original Time Team programs she was in please?
Watched the whole run of the original back to back to back around the time Mick died. Still can't find the Stonehenge special, though (hint hint).
I really hate that I can’t afford to be a patreon. Maybe someday
All are talking about how cool it is to be putting the band back together again. But none have mentioned missing Tony and Phil and how it is just not quite the same without them. I'm very disappointed.

so how many sites are getting an episode this season?
Just 2.
“Honey, get out the kettle drums!”
Who are all these people, not in my Time Team memories, sorry. Be Blessed
Whatever happened to Phil Harding? just curious
Still with Wessex Archaeology and involved in things like the Waterloo project.
And still wearing his shorts and hat, bless his cute little old self.
Why isn't Tony Robinson there anymore? Wasn't he available or intersted? I'm hoping that the new ones can fill his shoes...
Tony is 75 years old now, so maybe climbing in and out of dig holes would be a bit much for him? Shame though because he was such a big part of the programme.
Where Tony an Phil? Their only reason I watch it.
Phil was already on another project and Tony's docket is full from what comment murmerings are saying.
Phil Harding?
Talk talk talk!
An old adage states;
"When all is said and done more should be done than said".
Phil... Where are you. And Tony needs to learn some more stuff
Ace!

I’m sorry but this new “Time Team Official” is a really sad reflection of the original. I’m trying to find out how to unsubscribe.
