+M.M.B. Yeh I know mate, that was my point. I was responding to the original comment. I was suggesting he could now do/try some of the songs from COA (For which he didn't originally sing) because his vocals have progressed. Peace
It might be Thrashy riff wise, but it aint rhytmically because they are jumping through a lot of rhytms in one song, besides the vocals are no way Thrash
early stuff was distinctly metalcore. they have progressed (excellently) into this current sound but there's no denying that fact. not biting the bait anymore so enjoy your facepalming. stoked for new album!
That's the thing though. Master of the instrument. There is a bass guitar for a reason... No need to tune down... Notes are notes. Chords are chords. They don't change just because you can go a few notes lower on a guitar. Let the bass guitar fill in the low end and do its job.
AHAB and Gorguts would sound goofy as shit in standard tuning lol. Bass and Guitar can still work really well together in those low tunings, it's all in the composition and the mix.
My love for Sylosis grows stronger every year, nothing like the brilliance of Josh. I wish he will continue to dictate more of the music in the upcoming EotE p2
Best Fuckin Band of All Time.. can easily say tht.. actually ive started liking dem over other bands including my all time favorite metallica.. love u guys..
I think I need to stop listening to this song, it's causing me severe brain damage from excessive head banging. I can't make it stop. This has to be one of the most awesome song's i've ever heard. Cheers!
like legit I cant get through a single song....cuz I CANT WAIT TO HEAR WHAT AWESOMENESS THE NEXT ONE BRINGS!!!! Sylosis is my new favorite band. u guys are seriously the future.
Damn! Spot on! More people understand the fact that Revocation and Sylosis are the bomb. They should tour together! Unfortunately Josh didn't mention Deathless in his favourite albumlist of 2014 in the comments of his tutorialvideo of Leech..
+Luc Laros yeah man Sylosis and Revocation tour would be frikin' sick. :) Going to see these cats in December when they play here in Finland along with Children of Bodom and Lamb of God. \,,(
+p4fizzle umm... tough one because all the records kick some serious arse lol. Try Existence is futile and Deathless and after that check out rest of the Revocation albums.
The bass needed to be more complex on this song and follow the guitar more. It's really flat when done this simple. It works I guess, but I know he's more than capable of playing like Cliff.
I love Sylosis, but its hard to go from Jaime Graham, to Josh on vocals, its takes away from his one of the best least guitarists on Earth ability. He's a good singer but very limited, and their new material all sounds alike Josh is puttinga ton of effort into Instrumental intros and outros to get out his guitar creativity. And of course singing ALL the vocals is going to make him simplify, and lay back on guitar while singing, when on Conclusions of a Age, he was just absolutely dominating melodically on guitar constantly..no filler, while Jamie took them all over with vocal hooks, beautiful melodies, and some of the most brutal growling vox possible. As a singing guitar myself, who did front and backing vocals maybe 30% of our originals, while also being the only guitar, it definitely adds a load to carry. If Sylosis hired a designated singer as good or better than Jaime Graham ( if that exists) and Josh focused 100% on guitars, songwriting and backing vocals....Sylosis would be headlining EVERYTHING and easily as big as Lamb of God, or Slipknot. Conclusions of an age was a masterpiece that was and equivalent album to ANYTHING ever written in metal!!! Once we have heard Sylosis as they should be, hard to hear them any other way. Im not saying i hate everything sang by Josh, its very very good, BUT when your first album is a masterpiece you have big shoes to fill, not a bashing, A COMPLIMENT AND CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM ONLY.
Josh's pitched screams give me chills.
It's incredible to see how Josh has improved as a frontman! Hail Sylosis!
Both clean vocals and pitched screams are on point. He better start playing their songs with clean vocals live now. He's definitely up to it now.
+Christian Matthew Yeh, there are some great tracks from COA with clean bits.
+p4fizzle he didn't do the vocals on COA, tho
+M.M.B. Yeh I know mate, that was my point. I was responding to the original comment. I was suggesting he could now do/try some of the songs from COA (For which he didn't originally sing) because his vocals have progressed. Peace
+p4fizzle that makes much more sense and also a great idea
+M.M.B. Yeh, sorry! I am usually a bit lazy to fully explain what I am saying :)
The ending riff is so simple and Awesome
+Vinicius Airton INIT!!!! I also like "All Is Not Well" such a simple riff and track throughout (unlike a lot of their stuff) but such a good tune!
It always makes me think that sounds like a Black Sabbath riff... Awesome!
Filth
"Blood for blood
Surrender or don't
But forgiveness is a lie to behold"
this guys are so underrated deserves way more, josh gave me hope saying sylosis isn't dead, new stuff on the way apparently.
For real? I miss them.
And cycle of suffering kicked ass like all their stuff, josh is a genius
Sylosis never disappoint. They just keep doing what they do, better and better. So thankful for this band.
Thats right!
Along with Revocation and Ouroboros these guys are saving Thrash Metal from the boredom agony of 80's Gimmick bands...
older albums were thrashy.
Riff wise they're pretty Thrashy... but with more interesting structures.
It's called not being a generic thrash band.
Havok.
It might be Thrashy riff wise, but it aint rhytmically because they are jumping through a lot of rhytms in one song, besides the vocals are no way Thrash
What a band, what a song...So good!
one of the best bands to emerge from the -core wave. the last album is a masterpiece in my book, high expectations for this one!
***** You could say the first e.p./album was
***** Their first EPs had some core elements.
early stuff was distinctly metalcore. they have progressed (excellently) into this current sound but there's no denying that fact. not biting the bait anymore so enjoy your facepalming. stoked for new album!
I dare you to call them core to Josh Middleton. Hahahaha he cannot stand the genre
Turanga Leela K then,if you say so.
This band name should be "How to sound heavy in standard tuning".
Hahahah, exactly, this is what i've been thinking all this time about this band. I personally hate play in E but these guys made me think twice.
Same with Opeth
That's the thing though. Master of the instrument. There is a bass guitar for a reason... No need to tune down... Notes are notes. Chords are chords. They don't change just because you can go a few notes lower on a guitar. Let the bass guitar fill in the low end and do its job.
AHAB and Gorguts would sound goofy as shit in standard tuning lol. Bass and Guitar can still work really well together in those low tunings, it's all in the composition and the mix.
The best thing is to have a D standard guitar with 24 frets.
My love for Sylosis grows stronger every year, nothing like the brilliance of Josh. I wish he will continue to dictate more of the music in the upcoming EotE p2
Sylosis is the shit. Josh's guitar work is flat out amazing, it makes me happy inside.
Best Fuckin Band of All Time.. can easily say tht.. actually ive started liking dem over other bands including my all time favorite metallica.. love u guys..
2019. Argentina. Good music reaches everywhere.
Awesome!
I hope to see them in Italy soon!
i really wish i could play with such precision and speed!!
I like the more dark/moody vibe of this song, the chorus in particular is really cool. I dig it.
I can’t believe how he can scream with barely open the mouth! ❤️🤗🥺😲
First time ever hearing this band but this is so good.
Dude, what? Get their previous albums. They;re fucking sick.
Conclusion of an Age is still my favorite album but every record they put out is at least very good
lukasWalli89 EOTE is my favorite record but truth be told every album they put out is solid.
Amazing all round! Best band in the world!
I think I need to stop listening to this song, it's causing me severe brain damage from excessive head banging. I can't make it stop. This has to be one of the most awesome song's i've ever heard. Cheers!
Josh y sus growls tan poderosos como la distorsión que usan. Siempre es un place escucharlos ¡Tremendos!
They are incredibly solid live players, such technical prowess! Saw them live a few years back as they were the warm-up for Killswitch Engage.
Dat Dillinger Escape Plan Shirt!!
This guy in the drummers is mental 🙏🤘
Holy shit, these guys are good.
That song is just perfect !
Didn't realize Ali of Bleed From Within drummed for this band, had the pleasure of meeting him this year in Brighton.
Glorious, starting to really dig Bailey's Reverend as well...
like legit I cant get through a single song....cuz I CANT WAIT TO HEAR WHAT AWESOMENESS THE NEXT ONE BRINGS!!!! Sylosis is my new favorite band. u guys are seriously the future.
This song is so powerful.
Best modern metal band out there along with Revocation. Nuff' said!
Damn!

That galloping riff is one of those riffs you cant help but bob your head to
Amazing as usual.
this song is so well done and so well mixed great job :D
This is the best thing I discovered today
Ooh that bass sounds yummy
Jude Miller 2:06

josh takes a lot of inspiration from metallica
Great job!
Kiana Shotgun =)

It's just fucking brutal!!!!!!!
Who did the video editing? to different mic's was kinda weird to see, besides that great video!

Yes, Ali Richardson who will also be continuing drum roles for the Scottish groove/metalcore act Bleed From Within.
А чего он в шапке? не топят что ли в студии? :)

Now sit and think what if Krimh joined as the drummer...
Steve Rouse Krimh is amazing, but i just dont think he'd sit well.

They all look pretty unhappy.
