    Crazy how easy the power is with anything forced induction. I know everyone is sick to death of combos like turbo LS or turbo SBC, but it’s sooo easy it’s hard to say no to 🙌🏻

      LS and SBC are great engines but I even went to the Ford Coyote just to not do yet another LS swap.

    Wondering why the 350 made lower numbers than I expected with that cam and heads combo. I’d have expected to see 430-435HP. Too much head and smaller valves might have helped, like 1.94 & 1.56 for better airspeed? Quench was (?), chamber size and SCR/SCR were (?)

    Dry sump, 40 pound stoker crank, 6” rods, .060 over bore, proper pistons, worked high flow heads,nice cam, dual plane intake, holly carb, headers. You know average daily street engine 🤣 add boost for increased pants ruining fun

    That 305 really did like the spray. Like 125+ HP and almost 150 TQ off basically a “100 shot”. Not bad at all for a .046 jet.

    I am proud to say I'm currently building a vortec 350. AFR 190cc heads, flat top piston. Not sure what cam yet since it is going in a Z71. I want to keep the power curve below 6K rpm. I'm leaning toward a First TPI. Since I can tune the factory ecm, that what I'm running it with.
    Why all this for a Z71? It's cause I'm stupid and can't grow up. 🙄

      Consider the Comp Xtreme Energy 08-422-8 or one of their Xtreme 4x4 cams in the same duration range with similar or a tiny bit less lift. Your heads can handle more airflow than these small to mid sized cams but a 4x4 really benefits from huge low RPM torque. I’m running the 422 on my 2WD 92 C1500 with 1.6rr for .528/.535”

    @ Richard Holdener , curious for the typical 23° 350-383 with 10-10.5 to 1 compression what do you consider your "go to" camshaft? Notice an aweful lot of 276/280 ish @.006 hydraulic rollers in catalogs, usually 108-112 lsa with lift all over the place as well as Vizard, and Lingenfelter books repeatedly saying that's about the max for a true dual use street car with emphasis on performance. Even a lot of your vids you use the comp 274h, or xr282hr etc.

    I just built a SB400 with stock crank. Forged 5.7" rods and hypereutectic pistons. Aluminum heads with a calculated compression ratio of 10.5:1
    I did not plan on doing a power adder but I now want one. I did gap the rings for boost just in case. On this set up would all recommend 250 nitrous or Turbo if so how much psi boost you think it can take.

    • @giftdcam8472
      @giftdcam8472 2 года назад +2

      No matter what your compression ratio is going to kill any good boost.. lower compression=higher boost.. my setup is 383, forged eagle stoker crank, forged eagle h-beam rods, SRP -16 dish pistons, 205cc heads, 9.5:1 compression, haven’t completed the intake and carb choice yet but plan to run 15-20psi with twins. I recommend to run low boost on your current setup or it will not stay together long.
