I am taking all courses as a refresher before taking the exams. I graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting in 2012 and want to be sure I'm ready for each and the final licensing exam.

I'm currently in the NACPB program right now. I purchased the full courses with the internship. I started from scratch I didn't have any college courses to credit to it. I'm enjoying the course work so far. I will definitely come back and update when I'm a pretty good ways through!! I'm so glad you did a video on this because I feel like it's not that known.

There's a US version AND a Canadian version of the CPB certification. You would have to contact them separately to attain one or the other (different leadership).

This section about the 2,000 hours is not a good representation. It’s just like how the CPA license works. You can sit for the exams but you can’t be licensed as a CPA until you have the required experience.
With the CPB you can take the exams and get the individual certifications but if you don’t have the experience you won’t yet be licensed as a CPB. Also the NACPB has an internship program for entry level bookkeepers. They’re not leaving people out to dry. They’re also extremely communicative. So yes it’s definitely an entry level certification but the licensure you wait for until you have the proper experience.
Edit: They do finally say how this is a good idea for inexperienced people. But they don’t talk about the NACPBs internship program.

You've got this!!!!!! That's so amazing! I'm telling you I have bookkeeping experience from previous jobs and I don't have any college but oh my goodness taking the first course it's all coming together and making sense of what I used to do. I wish I had these honestly when I was doing my previous jobs. I'm not finished yet but so far it's amazing.

any websites where I can do practice tests or quizzes? I have no experience either, just got through the first course online, College Accounting /accounting fundamentals. need to test before going to the next course (bundle of 5 courses). Feel like I am not ready to test :(, any pointers?

I’m just worried because of the price. I don’t want to invest in something, & then find out I shouldn’t have bothered.

Penn Foster told me they waive the 1 year experience for the NACPB if you do their bookkeeping certification.
It's actually on sale for $789 til 9/10/24

I have to agree about their communication. I’ve corresponded with them ALOT and every single time I hear back on 30-60 minutes. I am getting my tribe to pay for the exams, I’m an accounting student and the only course from NACPB that I’ll have to take is the payroll. But I couldn’t find a schedule of classes on their website so I emailed explaining what I needed and they sent it to me in a usable format so that I could forward it to my tribes career development.
I love the communication the NACPB has.

How does a NACPB’s CPB compare to a CB from AIPB?

I work in the banking industry, does working as or under the vault custodian count as experience?
