I tuned in a bit late last night and had to catch the beginning today. Knowing this scene before seeing what Lucy tells Tim about getting the nails done is way funnier than knowing what she said and seeing his reaction here.
Unless they hide from everyone that they are a couple, but they will not receive it in secret for so long, everyone can guess that there is something wrong between them. At the beginning I knew how they announced that it would be a prank because Tim is not as in love as with Lucy. And it shows how he talks to her and smiles and shows his real, and with Aschley, it's just not to think and not to show that I feel something for Lucy. But I wonder if Angela didn't notice it sometimes while she was talking to them

And this was the reason. IF the writers want them as friends and Bishop said this and that and can't be, because it would be hypocritcal- why that scene? Why showing Lucy hurt about this? When Tim decides, which makes sense, to not "cross that line" (because he would hurt lucy's career) and his reaction after their kiss was just "confusion", you can clearly see here and in the car when Tim said he can imagine to marry ashley , that Lucy has feelings for him. So if writers want them as platonic friends, why go that way? But tbh I also read that the firefighter girlfriend that I don't even remember the name of is a "fan favorite" - exuse me what? THIS is a big part some people still watch the show, because they are so fun to watch together.
New observation. I thought she was a bad actress but Ashley was just a badly written character. I just saw her in a random Lifetime movie where she plays the mother of a bullied girl. She had actual emotions!
