    Kabita ji..I have been watching your videos for I guess 2 years starting from the day I tried to cook. I remember your video of karaki kurkuri bhindi, kofte, pulao, baingan Ka bharta ( even remember Aapne Kaha tha Aapke gaon me aise bharta bnate hn lehsun mirch bharke) .. have already appreciatrd your videos quite a lot of times again this recipe of cooking rice in cooker is just perfect .I tried it today, I am a learner and don't know properly how to cook, so have been making rice in pan, have always worrier to make it in cookies as the ratio of water would go wrong as it always goes while I cook daal..but today I tried your recipe and the rice turned out to be perfectly cooked. I also tried your pulao few months back they also got cooked properly.. I like the way you explains the procedure..there is so much patience in your voice, it seems like you are here only and guiding me while I cook. Recipes ingredients quantities are always perfect and you try to give precautions also ( as you mentioned not to add extra water and pressure cook rice just for 1 whislte only) .. so recipes are always precise and accurate plus videos are not too lengthy to get bored while watching..so thank for this video.. I saw your chapati videos also .though inspite of 1 year practice I still have not been able to cook proper chapati which is fluufy and soft, but will keep trying . I request if you can make one video on how to get rid of lizards😜 as there are many in house and I have tried many desi methods but couldn't get rid of them . And also a video on how to save dals from small insects.. I have placed Dal in airtight containers, have added turmeric to them and even placed neem leaves to prevent insects still bcz of humid conditions here my dry fruits, Besan , daal and peanuts have been infected... Thanx. Stay blessed

      Try to find out places where they are entering into house from outside .. Send them out with patience using broom stick ..and fill holes / block the places they are entering.. This method I follow and working well for me..

    Hi Kabita. I always have been following your cooking videos. I love the simplicity & how you explain things.
    I tried to follow your method of cooking rice in pressure cooker. However rice was bit hard> it was fluffy but hard.
    I had used regular parmal rice 1cup 1.5cups of water. 2 whistles......
    Can you suggest.....

    • @KabitasKitchen
      @KabitasKitchen  8 лет назад +8

      +Ubair Hamdani HI Ubair, thank you very much for your watching my video and lovely compliment :)
      Mere rice video me maine 1 cup/glass water and 1.5 cup/glass water suggest kiya hai, aur high flame per one whistle(not 2 whistle) ke baad gas off kiya hai..fir cooker ka pressure nikal jane de fir open kare...
      kabhi kabhi rice ki quality se sayad fark padta hai...but aap yakin kijiye koi bhi quality ki rice mai esi tarike se banati hu aur wo sahi banta hai, infact mai abhi bhi rice he bana rahi hu cooker mei :)
      Aap ek kaam kare, water ki quantiyy 1.5 ki jagah 1.75 use kar ke ek baar try kare....one whistle... gas off..temperature cool down...open the lid..
      Agar fir rice hard hota hai to mujhe batay, fir mai khud PARMAL rice lakar try karungi...
      Hope this helps :)

    • @ubairhamdani
      @ubairhamdani 8 лет назад +3

      Sure thanks for explaining further.
      i had tried twice to cook rice, using 1 & 2 whistles. May be you are correct, rice types may behave differently. Still would give it a try more using 1.75 cups of water for 1 cup of rice...

    There is a problem. This 'pressure cooker' you are using is only available in India. I have never seen one like that here in Europe. The ones here don't 'whistle' and usually release pressure constantly to maintain about 12 PSI. So, even after cooking for 15 minutes you will open it and the rice is mushy.

      @@Khiladi_99 Unfortunately, no. I gave up cooking with the Tefal pressure cooker I bought, now I just cook the rice in a normal pot.

    Most modern pressure cookers don't whistle. How long should we cook it for? Has anyone attempted this yet?

    always specify timings. the whistle count is inaccurate..in case of smaller cooker the pressure release is very quick and hence if we follow your one whistle method...you get uncooked rice.

      Thank you very much for your feedback and suggestion, your point well taken :)

    • @abimercury30
      @abimercury30 7 лет назад +5

      Nope. You can experiment side by side. The frequency of whistle in a small cooker will be more when compared to a large capacity cooker. If you go by whistle then it's just so inaccurate

      1 whistle takes how much time...?

    • @Welcometomyjourney20
      @Welcometomyjourney20 6 лет назад

      The whistle here just means the pressure inside is built up & pushing up the whistle so it is whistling regardless of cooker size. The problem here is most of new pressure cookers have no such mechanism. So instead going on timing is better.. Timing is started since valve plug is pushed up & sealed
