Thank you, the team there is excellent. My issue with "cinematic" is this buzz word and assumption that to make any image better is to make it look like a feature film / cinema production.
I wish I could have one kit for every circumstance. Doesn’t seem to be possible. However, I do enjoy whenever I’m able to find one tool that fits multiple project styles.
Yes, thank you!... You got me thinking a bit on this process. Here are some vlogs using my trusty Ex3 for same level work, but different scenarios. ruclips.net/video/LvdIkZ-OBBI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/W0yc-yXfssk/видео.html
So many European News stand ups look awful because they don't have enough kit. Lights that aren't bright enough, little to no diffusion and very contrasty. News outlets just don't care enough these days so keep doing what your doing. Either light properly or don't do it at all!!!!
I'm sure I'm not the first one to say this, you have the patience of a Saint. Fan noise? How about the noise from a client when your light blows out from overheating haha!
Anyone worried about that fan noise should check out how easy it is get rid of just about any background noise / Voice Iso with AI software these days , you usually have to add room tone back in ! .. its a total non problem these days.
2/3" zoom lenses are much lighter and faster, F1.9 is typical with a 20x magnification range, and a built in doubler to go to 40x, plus sensor clear image zoom on the newest cameras. VS F2.9 with 7x at twice the weight.
@@liamhoole9865 it is not... but pretty much all B4 lenses are parfocal as they are designed for video and video only. On large sensor cameras you either need to invest $$$ into cinema glass which should be parfocal or do what most people do use still camera lenses which are not parfocal, as they are designed to take pictures. And making them parfocal would increase the cost greatly. Entry level E-mount lenses from Sony technically designed for video are not optically parfocal but Sony cheats by continuously refocusing them during zooming - making them look like they are parfocal. But it is not perfect... especially in slowmotion you can see those lenses get out of focus.
Another great vid! Thank you. I thought of you when I saw this vid, as they were talking about some rigging woes with Burano ruclips.net/video/9QdWoHZFNYU/видео.html. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your fam! I hope you're health continues the upward trend : )
Love News Nation and that is a great looking shot. You say you're not trying to be cinematic, but this shot checks a lot of boxes, looks good!

Anyone that says the light/grip kit is overkill has never done live hits.
💯

From Burano to Z90... glad you heard the call.
It's a nice little nifty camera.

I would take a look at the new Z200 too. $1K more than the Z90 but looks to be far more fully featured. Closer to the Z280.
@@IanJones-nv3co yea Z90 is kinda old at this point... no variable ND, very limited 4K, definitely go with Z200.
Fan noise is fine.. Have to remember lots of people watches videos on speakers and mobile phones so stuff like is not usually audible
You just gave me flash backs of some rough days filming movies in dirty abandoned locations in Dallas, in August! So sweaty!

I'm not hearing the fan noise ulness I turn the level way up. In the shot is is not an issue.
Thanks as always! Quick question, as those Neewer scrim/flags you are using? Looks the same if not.
@@charlesteton same ones I think. Different branding.

I wondered last video, do you do any processing of the audio on your end during hits or is that all remote?
@@not0evn all processing is done at the control room.

Not an ENG Guy, why is the smaller sensor more optimal for that line of work than S35 or FF?
parafocal lenses, and bigger DoF thus more things in focus, so it's more practical in run and gun situation
@ interesting, never realized sensor size related to a lenses ability to be parfocal.
@@liamhoole9865it's just that most ENG lenses are parafocal, no idea if there is connection between size and parafocal, maybe price?

No way you keep that hairline working news everyday.
Correct! Freelance, it goes in waves. 5 months since my last extended multiple week news run. I wish there was a PT option. Vs FT or freelance.
