Agreed, Short trem "Stress Testing" a new item is one thing. Longer term wear and tear and being used/sitting out in all weathers would take a different kind of toll..
The beat test is lower income European countries that had little to no choice financially to choose this kind of bikes. The results so far prove that except some minor problems due to inexperience, they are proven as reliable as the competition

In Malaysia (and other countries I'm sure) where import duties on Japanese and European bikes drive the prices up, the 800nk seems like a pretty tempting buy. Here the 800nk is about 1500£ cheaper than a 790 duke, 2200£ cheaper than a hornet 750, and being in the same "neighborhood" as China parts are pretty easy to come by. The dealer network is also better than KTM but definitely not on par with Honda.. yet... 🤷♂🤷♂

24 hours proves nothing at all. For me to trust Chinese bikes, I'd need to know if I ride to work and leave it out in the rain for 8 hours will it start or leave me stranded. If I go on a winter blast when conditions aren't to bad will it start when I need it to. In my riding life I need proven reliability that's why I stick with Japanese big 4 and currently run a honda nc700s and before that a Kawasaki j300 and before that a honda sh300ì and before that a honda cbr600rr just to name a few, they have never let me down at all, not once. Untill proven reliable I can not chance my hard earned money on one. If I do and find it no good the depreciation will hit me hard, sorry to those that own Chinese bikes but I need trust in a brand I choose to sink my money into.
My son bought a 300sr for a beginner bike, on its way to 15000kms aside from the tensioner getting loose at 13000kms and getting replaced for roughly 30$ no issues on the bike, he has no garage and parks it outside with the elements keep in mind I live in a tropical country mostly rain and sunny weather had absolutely no hiccups. Some would say my son had a good unit and that it varies but for a beginner bike to thrash around and crash a few times id say it is the best bang for buck I still am on the fence about the higher end ones tho. I keep on recommending japanese once he got over the beginner phase
CF Moto in particular has been doing alot of heavy lifting when it comes to launching some really interesting motorcycles, 800NK, 450MT and their upcoming triple cylinder 675 SS & NK.

I haven't ridden any of their bikes till now obviously - and my only source of information is the countless European reviews and ownership experience on RUclips. If you think they're not good then do let me know coz that's also part of knowledge for me towards these machines.
It's more a question of whether the other manufacturers will survive in the long term, as the quality of these bikes will improve, but the costs will remain the same. With no tariffs on cheap imports, the UK market is under threat. This is what China does: floods the market with cheap products to destroy the local competition. Expect that we will soon be nudged (or forced) to buy cheap electric bikes from China.
I am frankly exhausted with people making negative assumptions simply because these bikes come from China. This is very unprofessional of a publication like MCN that claims to be an industry leader. Why do you assume these bikes need to "prove" themselves? Why? Articulate your negative bias towards products from China? What was the impetus for this? Does an individual manufacturer in China have issues? that is one question, but you are just throwing a blanket over the whole country. Are you going to do the same thing with European bikes? How about all the Italian manufacturers for 24 hours non-stop? or is the risk of no more product launches in Spain too high a price to pay? 😉
24 hours is no test for a bike's reliability. It will take decades to achieve a good reputation and regular occurrences of really high mileages for the Chinese bikes to be regarded as the equal of the Japanese. I bought a 21-year-old 38k miles VFR800 without any hesitation because they are a solid, well-engineered bike, like the majority of the Japanese brands. The complexity of electronics with a myriad of connectors and cheap plastics will be the downfall of a lot of equipment in the future, no matter where it's made.
Compared to Korea and Japan when they first started producing mainstream consumer products, I’ve been massively impressed with the quality of Chinese electronics, line cameras, drones etc. But for me a motorcycle they make will prob be ok, but the soul thing ain’t there

Or do they work as well as a Honda after 100.000 km and 30 years. It is hard to guess - but really - I don't think so. But maybe they don't need to. It comes down to the quality of every single component - the cabling, the plastics etc. Spareparts availability is a whole other question, that is really impossible to forecast. It is a lot about trust - and the japanese manufacturers have just shown that they are master of longevity. Which is also reflected in the second hand prices. So You get what You pay for a good part of the way. In the end that means more possibilities for motorcycle riders - which is a good thing I think. More people can afford their dream motorcycle - and the reliability - or the demise of bad motorcycle brands will have to follow. BTW nobody seems to be bothered about the fact that every I-phone and Mac computer is made in China. So why whorry about the MCs. Will You support the chinese regime - that's another question - but we all do that already anyway. And lets face it - it IS hard to overlook the world champions in production. And companies like Kove and CF moto - you've gotta hand it to them - they are very skilled and smart as well. Visionary actually. And often more so than the older brands. Nope. That's KTMs poor specification of the parts, insufficient development testing and/or trying to cut a few corners to improve shareholder profits. In case you missed it earlier this week, KTM have gone rather Bankrupt...
The numbers of these camshaft failures are less than 0,5% But with the keyboard warriors on the internet, the issue was made bigger. The problem was offset oil journals. They didn't meet up properly between the head and the camshaft bridge. I was worried about my 2020 790 Duke. With 26 000km on the clock it could be interesting to see whether my bike was one of few or not. It wasn't. I opened it for a valve check and turned the engine, just to watch squirting oil on the cams. Looked like new. Don't worry, they are not that bad. It's a keeper!
The question everyone should be asking is, among others, do we want to support a venture capital, financial and EU bureaucratic system that wants to de-industrialise Europe and move manufacturing to China? I don't. NOT ONE BIT.
deindustrialise is going to happen even to China one day, it is because of the cost of living. if everyone still maintain the 80-90s salary and everything is priced within reach of everyone, then no country will deindustrialized

@@murraytrimmer228 had my kove 450 rally over a year and a half on my second winter hammered and ride mostly off road , suddenly on motorway touring salty roads, no issues and not a single spit of rust , bolts are either titanium or stainless, absolutely spot it's been, unlike my KTM , things have changed, I would say they are better than most bike manufacturers, take a look at one and ride one , I've not had a single issue
I’ll still never buy a Chinese bike. The cars they make are awful and spot welded so they fall apart. I expect the same with bikes. I don’t quite fancy dying just yet.

Nope. CF Moto owns approximately 2% of KTM's parent company. PIERER mobility. And yes, PIERER Mobility is in financial difficulty; however, their struggles have been going on for years and have nothing to do with CF Moto's recent investment.

It was between the MT09 for £11k or the 800NK for £6k.. I went NK and am very happy so far.. 4 years warranty too, so..

@@murraytrimmer228 had my kove 450 rally over a year and a half on my second winter hammered and ride mostly off road , suddenly on motorway touring salty roads, no issues and not a single spit of rust , bolts are either titanium or stainless, absolutely spot it's been, unlike my KTM , things have changed, I would say they are better than most bike manufacturers, take a look at one and ride one , I've not had a single issue
I’ll still never buy a Chinese bike.
The cars they make are awful and spot welded so they fall apart. I expect the same with bikes.
I don’t quite fancy dying just yet.
Everyone said that about Japanese bikes in the 70s & all cars are spot welded
@ not in safety critical areas like suspension that falls off the car as it’s not meant to be just spot welded.
I’ll stick with what’s proven thanks.
@@ogofog9120 100%!! I was sold on 'Jap Crap' when I was a youth.. the new generation of CFMotos are streets ahead.. I had loads of issues with my last GS, people seem to ignore the issues with mainstream manufacturers' machines (mind you, most don't; even have a bike licence, just keyboard warriors sat in their pants..)

Nope. CF Moto owns approximately 2% of KTM's parent company. PIERER mobility. And yes, PIERER Mobility is in financial difficulty; however, their struggles have been going on for years and have nothing to do with CF Moto's recent investment.
