The best improvements I've made to my mobile setup over the years are--1. Bond all metal surfaces to one another to lower noise and 2. Drill a hole to mount an NMO connector on top of the roof of my truck. Magnet-mounts are convenient but don't work nearly as well. I do have a rover system with rotatable beams for weak signal as well. 73 DE WA5RR
I agree with you 100% - Which is what I covered regarding bonding the body and bed together and on the frame. I've seen a noticeable improving with such. I am not a fan of mag mounts at all, but some times a needed evil. The good news is it's not hard to bond them electrically to the car body at the radio location. The problem with drilling it's, just something I am hard pressed to drill a hole in a 70K plus car/truck and it's also out of the realm for many to do. Then you have cases like my and my wife's truck where we are 90% glass on our roof. Thanks for the comments.
