Can't believe you totally lifted the pads to supposedly get the chip to sit flat. The pads were long enough to install the chip and add a small jumper wire afterwards.
Ive always used Arctic Silver with no complaints, I wish i could say its all fkn mine lol 😆But every time I buy a fresh tube one of my m8s come round asking have you got any thermal paste john?
Great job mate 👍 👏 👌 so enjoy your videos 📹 👍 please keep them coming 🙏 👍 and here to help get your videos 📹 😉 out to everyone to enjoy 😉 😀 cheers buddy 👍 😀
@TheCod3r Why did you remove the pads instead of jumping from the point to the existing pad as they was solid to the board ? the pad extends to the side of the PM IC anyways ? so it would still sit flat to the board? Just asking for reference and educational purposes.

When you want te remove the yellow off white plastic, just put 12% hydrogen peroxide on the case and put it in the sun. It will come off in just 2-3 hours. It’s necessary to put it in the sun you need the uv light to do its job.
@@ChannelReuploads9451 Agreed, but it looks better for quite awhile and you can do it again. I had to with my SNES after a few years, but I have tons of windows in my place

A big part of my enjoyment watching your videos is to see how happy you get when you get something fixed.
That chuffed look when it booted was priceless. Out of everything I think the 2 blown traces were the issue.

Is it not risky using hot air near those caps?
Almost everything can handle a few seconds of hot-air without issues, I never had issues.
