Selling my game boy and played this one last time. From the look of this video you can tell the game looks great. I assure you the feel of the game is even better. Probably my favorite all time game boy game.
ah contra, how i loved you on the GB. The highlight of the game was when you do a back flip when you die. Most memorable was when your hero would fall down a hole and die, but when he dies, he backflips back out of the hole.
This is my favorite of all the contra games. I could easily beat this every night before bed and listen to the end credits. lol. to be 12yrs old again.....
Very good combination of the first and second titles of Contra, I also liked the adaptation of the Soundtrack, very faithful to the original and with its own touch.
9/10. A solid addition to its 2 classic predecessors. It's true to form with cool and creepy surprises, while living up to the hype of its cutting-edge commercial. Another level and a 2-player adapter would have been nice, though. 👍
Operation C = Contra + Super C for the Gameboy. I loved this game for the Gameboy :) That ending theme, the beginning part sounds like something from Castlevania Adventure II
I used to play this SO MUCH on my original GB. I got it in one of those illegal 10-in-1 type cartridges, however it was a 5-in-1 which came with: Robocop, Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge, Batman and Double Dragon!!! :)
I think the Homing broke the difficulty completely. Like it wasn't enough the game had small Game Boy resolution, but also it was firing the bullets like the Spread Gun. Good thing this weapon got nerfed in Contra III.
This made me remember something completely dorky, but I don't care; my brother and I discovered that Megadeth's "Rust in Peace" is the perfect soundtrack to Super C. Start the game up, mute it, one play one track per stage, fits perfectly. As long as you skip Dawn Patrol...
I love: 1st stage 1st boss 2nd boss What is it about the design of the 1st stage, 1st stage boss, & 2nd stage boss in: This game and Super C for NES?? They're just...
I only have 6 minutes of gameplay left for operation C on Gameboy from Contra anniversary it feels way easier than the tough as nails 1987 arcade feature 😂🤣😁
What? In 80's and 90's Japanese players were considered ''hardcore' (I'm talking about you ''The Lost Levels'').' It's strange for them to make it easier for the Japanese gamers...
@@barockmanobama2151 It's the same with Contra: Hard Corps for the Genesis. Europe and the US got a tougher version with one hit kill deaths and Japanese version lets you get hit 3 times before losing a life + there's codes to have 30 lifes.
I just beat this game for the first time ever!! 2014!! yay! back in 1991 i only heard of this game then when i was a kid. Now i have beat all the old-school Contrra games. i don't care what anyone says this game is frustrating but fun! :-P look out shattered soldiers and Hard Corps in coming for you next!!
I use to own both operation c and Contra alien wars on game boy. this game is exactly the same as Super C but slightly different levels and has same 10 live code like Super C. The Ha released Super Contra has 30 lives code instead of 10. I even played game boy advance Contra Advance alien wars minus the bomb, 2 weapons, and motorcycle mode with helicopter shooting it's missle. I think it has 2 player mode too but not sure. Contra 3 Japanese version has 30 lives code but not for USA and pal release. I haven't played Contra 4 for DS. Castlevania 1, 2, 3 and 4 are my favorites. there's even a game boy version to Castlevania 1 &2 for nes. Castlevania Symphony of the night for ps1 is everyone's favorite. There's even a Sega Saturn port titled Dracula X in Japan. the English version came to USA for PSP and PlayStation Network for PS3 and PS Vita. Dracula X is exactly the Same as Ps1 version with 2 extra characters. ps1 you had to beat the game to play the other character. for Sega Saturn version there's a female character included not found on ps1 version.
My favorite original Game Boy game of all time and one of the best Contra games out there. It seriously NEEDS to come out on the 3DS Virtual Console.
Well now it's coming out on the Switch!
Oh my God that ending music...
Damn this brings back memories. I would always get stuck in the same spot. Great to watch someone play through it now that I'm not a kid anymore.
The background is incredibly detailed for a Game Boy game.
Ive been trying to find this game all this time since I remember it from when I was a kid, ive always searched it up as Rambo lol..
Hahahahaha Same
i used to play this game with my grandpa when i was 6-7 years old, back to the old days... this game is so awesome xD
I had this game. Kind of had a hard time beating the last level but was able to complete the game twice I think. Memories indeed!!!
True to its predecessors with enough surprises, Operation C's guns are tops and the ending music is a metal-head rocking masterpiece.
That synth solo at 1:12 is what I live for lol
They just never knew!!!!💯
I had no idea there was contra for gameboy! I remember playing it on NES but I never saw this cartridge around when I was a kid! Looks awesome!
solidsn2011 I was just thinking that. And it does look awesome. I wish I had this when I had the old brick Game Boy.
i have fond memories of this game it was a shit ton of fun back when ur a kid! i never played the NES one tho..
@@theonewiththeeyeoftruth884 A SHORT VIEW BACK TO THE PAST.

It's nice that this version of contra c is a remix of contra c 1 and 2, hence the elements such as levels, music and gameplay, the ending is awesome.
Back in the DAY! I remember playing this game and feeling like a true pro beating it without cheats.
I didn’t even know there was cheats back then…
That ending theme is amazing, I totally forgot about it after all these years.
The ending is beautiful!!!
Cant tell u how much this took me back as a kid its crazy to see how far games have come
And how far they've fallen
Uno de mis juego favoritos de la infancia, lo podía terminar hasta 3 veces seguidas. Espero algún día volver a tenerlo.
One of the best Game Boy games. With this for Game Boy, and Contra 4 for DS, they really weren’t messing with the Contra games for handheld consoles.
Played this when I was five years old... Damn
Operation C is an awesome Gameboy port of Contra.
The game had a mixture of stages from the original Contra and Super C.
This is my favorite of all the contra games. I could easily beat this every night before bed and listen to the end credits. lol. to be 12yrs old again.....
almost every gameboy game in this playlist, guys, has made me want to go buy these games...and for that i thank you.
Ese sonido estéreo es impresionante!!! y para la época, increíble!!! 🔊
So the enemy chaser in metal slug originated from contra. Mind blown.
EVERYTHING in Metal Slug originated in Contra.
This weapon was also brought back in Contra: Operation Galuga. Grab the H weapon in that game to see what I mean. :)
Yoooo Area 2 music was remastered for Contra Rebirth tho?! O.O!!
Great game. I think that the game could be nicely repolished for the NES or the GBA, imagine it with a full color palette :O
Such a good version of Contra. Konami did themselves proud with this! And the end music is epic!
God i wish a Remastered version of this track on a new contra game! Such unique!
I've never seen this nor have ever played this. but I'm watching it now.
The First Boss theme is probably the most epic of all the time
One of my favourite games to play on the gba during my childhood and one of the hardest too
The memories this brings back makes me feel old.
Very good combination of the first and second titles of Contra, I also liked the adaptation of the Soundtrack, very faithful to the original and with its own touch.
Wow this looks pretty well made, sad I passed on it back then
7:43 Love that Victory Theme
I didn't think this game could look fun on a Game Boy but I was so wrong. Very cool.
I’m soo lucky to play this game during gameboy era. I’m 25 now 😩
9/10. A solid addition to its 2 classic predecessors. It's true to form with cool and creepy surprises, while living up to the hype of its cutting-edge commercial. Another level and a 2-player adapter would have been nice, though. 👍
I had more difficulty defeating the spider boss of level 4, than the final one. Anyway, great vid!
Such an amazing game at it's time... I so wish they would release a re-make of the same game, HD or something on STEAM or Wii.
Operation C = Contra + Super C for the Gameboy. I loved this game for the Gameboy :)
That ending theme, the beginning part sounds like something from Castlevania Adventure II
Short, but classic. Makes me miss those old Contra days...
I used to play this SO MUCH on my original GB. I got it in one of those illegal 10-in-1 type cartridges, however it was a 5-in-1 which came with: Robocop, Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge, Batman and Double Dragon!!! :)
Well done! Really glad I could enjoy the boss fights
I got this on my switch lite. The contra collection. one of my most played games. Difficult game but fun!
Man. I played this and Nemesis and the GB TMNT game through hundreds of times. I'm here for the soundtrack actually.
lol I loved how you said F the "F" power . Loved this game.
Area 1 - Harbor 0:17
Area 2 - Frontline Base 4:15
Area 3 - Jungle Cliff 7:50
Area 4 - Alien Hive 13:04
Area 5 - Laboratory 15:45
7:01 R2-D2 is the level 2 boss??
Wow for a gameboy game the boss music is fucking sick
I'll need to play this someday, it would be cool to see this game remade
Even I was able to play this game to the end. I remember wiping bosses out in a matter of seconds with the homing weapon. Good memories.
i miss this game...bring back memroies
17:43 That damn laser just killed me like 7 times in a row. Now i Know how to do it, thanks
One of the Best Games for the Game Boy.
amazing how far portables have come. i still have my og gameboy.
Wow, first time i see Contra on Gameboy :) Nice.
This game have a hidden sound test mode too,it appears when you press up,down, left, right,b,a,start
Contra epic BGM is still awesome today....🤟
the game is called Contra in Japan for game boy and may have 30 lives code for Japan only release but not sure.
Incredible for a Game Boy game.
7:57 MSX Contra Waterfall
Fun fact. I beat this game before I went to school one morning when I was a kid lol
Operation C for the Nintendo Game Boy 1991 You Play as Bill Rizer
I love contra games and i tried this game in 2020.... great contra game
Super impressive game for the original game boy.
my first game ever oh I love this game
I think the Homing broke the difficulty completely. Like it wasn't enough the game had small Game Boy resolution, but also it was firing the bullets like the Spread Gun. Good thing this weapon got nerfed in Contra III.
So instead of a heart at the end, you fight the Red Falcon's removed cancer-ridden testicle.
uSTAYFROSTY XD
The first 3 levels used to be my favourits
Music on the second level = Metallica + Megadeth esque music. o3o
Marbles092593 Definitely! ;)
This made me remember something completely dorky, but I don't care; my brother and I discovered that Megadeth's "Rust in Peace" is the perfect soundtrack to Super C. Start the game up, mute it, one play one track per stage, fits perfectly. As long as you skip Dawn Patrol...
Shame that Contra never arrived on GameBoy...
Konami makes the greatest contragames of all time Contra 1 2 and 3 Operation game boy on contra the color version of operation contra
I love:
1st stage
1st boss
2nd boss
What is it about the design of the 1st stage, 1st stage boss, & 2nd stage boss in:
This game
and Super C for NES?? They're just...

this game is very hard, i recently added a copy to my collection. i beat contra three a few times, but this one looks epic
This is now on the Contra Anniversary Collection.
This and Bad 'n' Rad.., never reached again afterwards in overall quality (+ sound) in my opinion.
sorry the Japanese version Super Contra has 30 lives code but was changed to 10 live code for America and Europe release.

Sharttered Soldier is the darkest and quite possibly the greatest Contra game ever made.
wow... I played this game when I was only 5 years old. I couldn't reach the last stage.... is this game actually just 23 minutes long?
Only with absolute perfect play. This video is tool-assisted.
The whole complete package

This looks as good as the NES Contras. Shame they didn't put it on 3DS Virtual Console. (3DS VC has been kinda dead lately.)
best Gameboy game ever made
Love this game!!
The music is epic!
I remember this game with other name and deferent character on game boy ... ??? I find it Probotector !!!
never made it past the second lvl as a kid
I have that game in perfect state
But the first time I played it was glitched, but the second it worked
2:22 you messed up bro. Keep the homing missiles for the sub!!!
4:02 ok you get a pass.
One of the toughest game ever
Nostalgie❤️😉👍🏻
Best Game Boy Game
I remember playing a robot not a human??
In europe they changed the contra guys into robots. It was called probotector
