Microsoft doesn't allow third party licensed controllers to be wireless. Nintendo doesn't allow them to have rumble or NFC. That's why those features are always missing in PowerA, PDP and Hori licensed controllers.
Huh, no wonder powerA (and probably PDP) hasn't made official third party PlayStation controllers... The only kinds I've seen were these "fight pad" controllers by PowerA. I suppose Sony has a policy regarding people making controllers that are too similar to the official/original ones.
8BitDo makes controllers with rumble in them. Not nfc so you may be right on that one
@@TrueWG. I remember PDP made an afterglow controller for the PS3. After that they have only made officially licensed headsets for Sony's game consoles.
@@ervca06 The 8BitDo controllers have rumble because they aren't licensed by Nintendo. They left out NFC by their own choice. Many unlicensed third party controllers have NFC and rumble. But if they damage your console Nintendo doesn't have to cover the repairs since they're not officially licensed by them.

As a person who's generally not a fan of controller rumbling, this sounds like the most perfect controller.
I initially just liked the white with the red accents, and I came across this video when I was trying to find out what the pedal thingies on the back were :p

Hey, I think I can answer the thing about the two separately sized sticks. The longer one is to increase accuracy with your aim, and the shorter one is to give quicker movement. As in, quicker reaction time movement-wise, because you now have to move your thumb less to strafe.
Don’t mind the lack of rumble. Bought this because of the premium rubber grip, the 4 back paddles, and magnetic joysticks (added bonus that it comes with the longer stick)
I’ll update you on how it goes after I play with it for a while. I wish the white plate was soft matte like the black one.
This controller looks so cool, but only if the Switch has FPS games. I'm fine with my ordinary Pro controller for Splatoon 2, Apex and Rogue Company.
Don't use this controller for splatoon. Not sure if the vid went over it yet but many splatoon players have said you cannot fully run in the game because it doesn't go right to the edge.
Makes me almost tear up. Very modular, it's so sophisticated it's rediculous.

So if you’re going to pick this thing up right now would be the time. I have the original Nintendo pro controller for my OLED switch.

PSA - This gamepad actually fills a role that basically no other controller on the market does - it’s perfect for playing FPS games on PC with a controller. I know that’s sort of a niche within a niche, but there is no other controller on the market right now that is natively supported by Steam, has 4 mappable back paddles, AND has a built-in gyroscope. Now, you might argue that there are custom PS4 controllers that do all this, but I can tell you from extensive experience that the DualShock’s gyro is lousy compared to the gyro in this (and other Nintendo controllers). When mapping the gyro to mouse in Steam, PS4 controllers can only achieve a mediocre DPI, creating a very jittery movement and making it seem like you’re dropping frames. Nintendo gyroscopes are MUCH more sensitive, resulting in a much higher DPI and a far smoother experience. Meanwhile, the XBox Elite controller doesn’t have gyro at all, so if you want to use it on PC, you’re stuck with joystick aiming (the horror!). So if you happen to be like me and you prefer to play on PC with a gamepad, this is the one for you.
Thanks for bringing this up! I was actually looking into buying a gyro capable controller for my PC but the ordinary switch pro didn't have those back paddles. I really want to be able to use the gyro functionality through steam input and the playstation controller analog stick placement didn't suit me either despite the gyro feature. I curious though, when you connect it to your PC, does Steam identify it as a generic controller or does it identify it as a switch pro controller? Because I'm worried that if it identifies it as a generic controller steam won't recognize the gyro input.
@@shizzywizzy6169 Steam will recognize it natively as a Nintendo Switch Pro controller. Pro tip - make sure Steam is open and running on your machine before pairing the controller via Bluetooth to your PC. Also, using this in “wired” mode disables the gyro, so it needs to be connected via Bluetooth. However, you can still charge while playing if you connect the gamepad to a different power source and just leave it connected via Bluetooth to the PC in wireless mode. Hope that makes sense.
The faceplate/rings around the sticks restrict movement. In calibration the sticks aren’t registering a full motion. Popping out the red rings and the motion works like normal. Design flaw that needs to be addressed. When playing characters walk when pulling the stick down. Taking out the rings and the character runs like normal.
Nintendo doesn't allow rumble in any licensed controller, that's why it doesn't have rumble. And Microsoft doesn't allow any controller to be wireless, its pretty obvious lol
and sony does not let you use another controller on ps5 games. each major console company does use a stupid trick to keep people in there ecosystem. (wich in my opion is a crappy way of doing bussiness.
Best Switch Controller with no rumble feature and a headphone jack that only works when you have the controller plugged into the switch? Might be the best there is but for the price it isn't even good
Yessss I thought the black looked soft touch. I like both those styles so I’m glad you can swap out plates. Reminds me of my New 3DS! I like the updates, but that price is pretty confident.. Maybe they could make a controller in between this one and the enhanced controller.
If it had rumble in wouldn’t question the price for a second. I still really don’t, it’s nice. It just needs rumble lol
The white would look nice as well with the Oled model. I don't mind the rumble and It has been on sale for $60 in amazon.
the Xbox version cannot be wireless because it's a designed for Xbox controller, and Microsoft doesn't let any 3rd party companies make wireless controllers, only wired ones. Plus for it to work on the Xbox, it needs to use the wireless radio, which again, only Microsoft has access to. They can't make it Bluetooth without losing that license.

A lot of reviews say that the faceplate limits you from tilting the left stick completely up, so you cant do a full sprint in some games. Have you experienced this?
It´s not because of the faceplate, it´s because of the software. I only had this problems in the wireless mode. But everything was perfect when I played in wired mode.

Noticed this while playing pokemon. Character sprints going forward and sideways. When I pull the left stick down the character walks. When I take the faceplate off character runs in all directions. The red rings cause the sticks to not make a full motion downwards. Debating on getting a replacement from Best Buy, don’t want to have to drive all the way.
I bought this controller I like it. I hope they make more sticks the ones that come with it are to tall for me so I just use the one's that were on it to begin with.

Tbh, i guess i’ll tell myself that im a pro nintendo player and all average players will agree to this but if the controller cane with kontroller freeks and presicion rings, it will be so much better, but it still is a good controller for 100 dollars

Its a perfect controller for apex which is now on the switch i feel like the regular pro controller dosent handle well with apex legends on the switch but the power a controller dominates when playing apex legends on the nintendo switch

to my knowledge nintendo does not allow hd rumble on third paarty controllers. maybe norgmal rumble. some 8bit do controllers have rumble. but i idnt know if there really 3rd party or commisioned by nintendo. the weigth from the controller comes from added weights in the grips. another youtuber open it up and it has wieghts in the grips. like someone else in the commends addd. this would be nice for pc games through steam. this way you have a controller with programable back buttons and gyro aim. i also use this on switch shooters and breath of the wild so i never need to take my hands of the sticks. Rumble would be nice though. if they ever made a new version with rumble i would upgrade emediatly.

some of the POWERA wired controllers have more desirable designs than the wireless. I do with a company would release a design thats more conservative other than Black, White, Silver or video game character.

Unless you wanted extra buttons (Why on switch) what is the point of this rather than the official pro controller. It’s more expensive, doesn’t have rumble, and includes useless features.

Its a great controller.. I love controllers and all but this price.. Almost two pro controllers, two big big won or PDPs. The only controller i would pay more for is the xbox elite =)..
Can people help me? I hate the power a controller and i have it for almost a year and it just started flashing with white led in the front part and no matter what i did, nothing help, tried charging, tried connecting it with a wire (its a wireless charged controller) tried every problem it may have, tried to contact powerA and it didnt help but maybe someone knows (the best thing i found on the internet is that its stuck on programming mode, plz help, thank you

For the price, it still should've been there. The 8Bitdo Pro 2 has rumble, but you can turn it off, and it's only $50.

Well... I must say... I bought one of these, after less than a year, it had a problem with the right joystick, and not the drift, another one, so yeah, I had a pretty bad experience

I use it to fire in world of tanks blits it'd much easier for me to shoot my enemy tanks down
i use them on breath of the wild to jump and swing my weapn. that way i can still move the camera when i perform those actions. the paddles are good for any game that lets you fire a gun and perform actions like dashing/sliding/jumping at the same time and still be able to move the camera.
