A CR-1, the foreign born spouse once the visa is approved that person immediately becomes a LPR. There is no having to adjust status once the person enters the USA. If they have to go back their home country, you do not have to wait until the green card comes in the mail. Also, it is easier to get a SSN and work authorization. You are not having to wait. It might cost more money up front, but you save money in the long run. Your spouse can get their life up and running in the USA much faster.

This just happened to us. My fiancé had his interview 3/26/24 n was told his case was being sent back to USCIS for review n never told us why it had to be reviewed. After waiting 5 months we then received a letter on 8/14/24 saying his case was terminated bcz his time expired. They never gave us a reason why his case was sent back or expired. Now we don’t know what to do since they don’t want to tell us. What do u advise us to do? Is there a number where I can call for ur service ?
