buy on vinyl: vuuulf.com/wongs-cafe
Cory Wong - guitar, mixing, overdubs
Woody Goss - rhodes, composer
Joey Dosik - piano
Theo Katzman - drums
Joe Dart - joe dart bass
Jack Stratton - mastering, camera
Eric Ryan - engineer
Fun behind the music fact: Theo was surgically altered in 1941 with experimental bio-technology which enables upload of midi drum tracks into his body which he can then recreate perfectly, like a drum machine. Theo can store up to 7 of your favorite songs
Canon.
Theo is actually a Terminator-esque music cyborg. That explains his pipes, precision drumming and most of all GAINZZZ!
Where can I get a Theo?
How to choose which 7 Vulf songs… that’s where the true ingenuity comes in
but why only 7 songs? was it limited by the technology available at that time?
I love it! This is what happens when you leave a song in your pocket and it goes through the washing machine.
In your back pocket?
So correct
this is oddly accurate lmao
Fever dream music when Scooby Doo villains chasing me type of vibes
That was hauntingly accurate.
I love Scoob!! That's my dog!
Incredible the difference a little extra elbow room has on the sound of a song
Hey, that shed was relatively roomy!
This captures that caprisun after recess feeling
It's now scientific fact that Joe Dart is just as funky in stripes as a hoodie.
Well he's rocking both
I am very glad to live in a world where fresh Vulf is happening again.
Cool background according to Cory:
"...and the version of Radio Shack is the first time we recorded the song...we decided to try it again with more analog synths at a different session and that's the version that ended up coming out on the last vulf album...both versions are great, mine is just more 'organic' instrument sounding, and the JOM/JOR version is a little more 8-bit? sounding"
I like both versions and I'm a fan of Vulfpeck, but I need an assist on those two three-letter acronyms. I'm comin' up zen-zen. What is "JOM/JOR"? Probably my limited experience in music production.
@@tom_something
oh i dont think its a music production acronym at all
it stands for "The Joy of Music, The Job of Real Estate" (JOM/JOR) which was vulfpeck's 2020 record, which is the record the original radio shack appeared on despite the fact this version was recorded first. (notice that this is the same studio they recorded 3 on E in)
For those who don’t know, this sound is made from nuclear fusion
Eyyyyyyup!
Power of the sun in the palm of Strattons' hands.
its been a while to see Cory playing his Strat not in 4th position…XD
Absolutely dope track.
“Yeah I just put a little compression over it you’re all set bro”
Yooo. The original was already so good, but I always love more Radio Shack. You guys are really burning it up on this take.
Seriously, every track is spectacular in the most funk way possible
I disagree. I prefer the original.
@@thmsrttg I think the original is better but this one’s growing on me allt
I am at full mast just waiting for a Wong's Café album at this point god this slaps hard
Mmm that synth pedal on Cory is working wonders ✨✨✨✨✨
How can you make me love the same song again differently!
THIS is what the jukeboxes at Wong’s Cafe do to your favourite Vulf tracks!!! Are YOU prepared?
Vulfpeck, you make me smile. Thanks for making me happy all day. I use birdwatcher as my alarm. I am 13. I’m going to see your show in July, thank you
I’m seeing the show in July too!!
You're in for a great time! Have fun!
did u have fun?
@@nap_time_ yup
EEUUUUGHHHH the part switchup from the original working magic here. everything hits a lil diff, theo's beat, cory on lead, jack on the freq sweeps, joe up on two feet, woody with his lil dance :') awesome tune, nice work woody!
Wong's Cafe keeps on serving up delicious slices :)
At this rate wongs Cafe could be the best album you guys have put out and that really saying somthing
It’s so good right now
so much FUN!
I was thinking the same thing. These songs have been amazing
Isn't it technically a Cory Wong album?
This already was one of your absolute grooviest songs, and this version somehow grooves even harder.
The flavors are melting in my ears
Drums from 2:37 are total magic
Theo man
Wong's Cafe is shaping up to be absolutely essential
Wong's Cafe = PowerVulf™
Weekly Vulf upload is the best treat you can get! I'm already excited for next week!
I love this! Makes me so happy, which is great as I'm going through some hard things right now. Thanks Vulfpeck!
That guitar tone is nasty, I love it
Is it an octave pedal? I’m hearing a lot of latency. Not saying it’s bad (wish I was half as good), but I’m trying to figure it out.
Woody writes the greatest bass line ever with Dean Town and now the greatest guitar hook ever here. Unsung hero of this band and 21st century music overall
damn, the shack suddenly became huge
Making me very pleased that I ordered this vinyl
Absolutely loving this sound
The production level of these songs coming out is crazy. I needed this.
So pumped when I saw a new wongs cafe tune, then even better when I saw it was radio shack!
Jack bringing the shack back 💀🔥🔥🔥
Goss was practically glowing in this session!
OHHH MY GOOOOOODDDDDD THIS IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE SONG AND YOU GUYS RELEASED A NEW VERSION OF IT OH MY GOD
beautiful
Love it
Cant wait to see you guys live hopefully this year
What a beautiful room sound!!!
Holy s*** this is so strong and energetic.
That Joe Dart Signature Bass is hot!
Oh man when that noise sweep hits and the rhythmic clack comes in!
Does anyone else get FF7 vibes? The original game, end of Midgar disc one, motorcycle chase battle music? Or just me?
But a happy version lol
It has that same drive and wistfulness to it! I see what you mean
This is so groovy 🌼
Ah yes. Exquisite mouth feel
Theo Katzman's groove face gets me every time
j strat you're killing me with these mixes... absolutely inspiring.
No matter what I listen this, It always be the Sitcom feeling or the Japanese Sunday Morning Tokusatsu theme song.
That's some serious tape wobble on that jam.
Watching Woody in the zone is one of those gifts from nature
That duo piano keyboard is killing
LONG LIVE THE VULF!!!!!!!!!
So tight
super!!!!
cory's overdubs really make the track
4k likes, not one dislike. Keep making people happy, dudes 🤟🤟
It's so funky
Love It ❤❤❤ 🎶
the extreme crunch is bold but it fits greatly
'joe dart - joe dart bass' is the biggest flex ever
Please come to Brazil! 🇧🇷
It sounds like the perfect sitcom theme
Radio Shack even more VULFcompressed
Dope. Sounds like it was fun to write
Loved me those Realistic speakers I had when I was kid
I fucking love that snare sound
Rhythmic sounds in this theme, Desirable :)
Through Vulf I started to listen to this piece over and over again and learn to play it (that's how it gets in my head) :D
That late 70s new wave sound and the Prince posture of Cory :D
This truly is the sound of the Jet Age.
Damn that was tight!
Humanity needs to harness the infinity energy source that is Joe Darts neck movements.
this is very addictive
Woah
YEAH!!!! 🤩👍
Finally, the true vulfpeck anime opening
I was very glad to see the unmistakably large volume knob
WOOOOOO
I'm pretty convinced Cory Wong is the first person to come along since Masato Nakamura that can actually compose Sonic The Hedgehog music.
WOOOOOOW HOLY SHIT
heck yeah this got me excited about vulf again
Wow.
Hell yeah
1:13 to 1:40, really wish there was a bit more woody in the mix
ya
Finally, you heard our hinted request for you to make the Radio Shack Theme Song from those commercials...
1:44 is so cool!
hell yeah
This cured my COVID.
yeah woody!
Expanded compressed funk level: infinite
Oh man this is sick as hell! All the tracks aren't even out and I'm already calling we need a Wong's Cafe 2.
Woody such a great composer
This is so 🇳🇵 it’s insane
This whole song feels soo….like putting LEGOs together. Good stuff guys!
Who else wants to hear this crew cover Billy Preston's Outa Space? From Jack to Woody, to Joe and Theo, there's something to show off everybody! They would kill it! Cory could shine, and tell Joey to bring his sax, too.
good year
1:42 Goosebumps rising sound
This is an anime opener that you still don't skip 5 seasons in.
That sakanaction vibe
