I've had one for over a year. I was one of the Beta testers. These things are junk if only because you constantly get; "Your Echo Auto is not connected to your smart phone. Please pull over and make sure your bluetooth connection is working." (or something close to that). At least 3 out of 4 times when I asked for something, it would not work or it would ask me to; "Please turn on your location setting..." After all the trouble, it just threw it away. It was just easier to use my phone directly.
I have a 2017 Sierra and the Echo Auto will not connect to the trucks Bluetooth. The only way I can hear Alexa response is when the tuck drops my cell phones connection. Any suggestions?
Your phone would have to be in your car for the echo to pair. Otherwise if someone drives off without your phone in there then every time they ask for Alexa she will respond that there is no phone connected
@@lunkercarp I have one in my car and it is a pain!, it falls out of the holder often. I cannot just say her name I have to go to the phone to get her to answer me. I hope some day to have a car with this preinstalled as I have 6 echo type devices in my home.
@@lhr9919 I have it tucked away in the center council of my Tesla model S. I don't use any of the buttons on it and certainly don't want gadgets littered all over my dash. Works well for me.
I was a little disappointed in this device. My husband sometimes forget to take his phone. And for those times when I am out and my family can not contact me through my phone. It is good to know that they can always do a “drop-in” through the echo dot that is in our cars. This is something the echo auto can not do. No matter where you are outside of your home you can always drop-in on a “echo dot” that’s in your vehicle from any Alexa device in your home. Other than that my phone can do everything else that this little device can. Why waste the money?
It's a little too late to ask him to stop saying Alexa too much don't you think it sounds to me like you're trying to find a response and get some attention and though it might work it's not very flattering of you FYI maybe you should mute your Alexa when you decide to watch these videos so that way you don't have to deal with it okay
While toilet paper is something we all need, we're sorry that ended up in your cart. But on the bright side of the many other things that Alexa could have heard, that was probably the most family friendly. And we'll carry a bigger stick for Alexa violations. Thanks for watching!
I guess I don't understand what the big deal is about Alexa adding toilet paper to your shopping list I say this because this individual is not the only one that Alexa has done that to and FYI perhaps you're the one that should start muting your Alexa if you choose to view and listen to any of these how to videos because it really isn't that flattering of you
Hahaha...your funny. what is the problem if the saying Alexa commands you are die. if you don't want don't look or lessen other wise you are not heart stack right.
I use it in my Tesla Y but requires the Alexa app be open in my phone. Sucks in that regard. I hope Elon builds it into the the car. I bought it on Amazon for $19 US dollars. Not worth more than that, imo.
hi, what windshield camera is install on your car
Is it practical for phone calls in the car? does it have speakerphone? Especially if your car does not have a auxiliary input.
It doesn't have speaker I works through your car audio.
What is better is what I did... I bought the Garmin DriveSmart 65 with Amazon Alexa. You get a great navigator and all the Echo features built in.
Great suggestion!
If you want to spend 200$
@@CWallyMan Well worth it
What's better is I bought a new car that does all of that and more. 😃👍

How do you update it through the app? I've tried searching for it and can't find it.
What is the name of the cable you replace it with? How long is it? Thank you
Nice video , love the mellow approach.

Can I play any audio from my phone through my stereo like a Bluetooth receiver?
Yes
Take a shot everytime he says "actually" Warning: doing that could cause alcohol poisoning
Leave him alone wtf
@@sadiecorbett893 No
What happens if someone takes or steels this from your car, will they have access to your home, Amazon account cameras ect?

Alexa is using data in your phone?
Why not just use the Alexa App on my phone?
Does your phone have the nightrider light? Didn't think so!
The microphones on the Echo Auto are much better at hearing you over car noise.
Plus Alexa app will integrate with your car stereo via bluetooth

I use it strictly for the Bluetooth access to my non Bluetooth stereo. this is NO ECHO DOT. its sucks as an echo dot. i don't talk to it anymore.

my car so old it don’t even have an aux input 😭
Me too, so is our only choice to get a new stereo? Which I need one already so, this will make me put one in now.
If either of you have a cassette player you can get a cassette to aux adapter on Amazon pretty cheap.
Also the echo auto is on sale for $19 at the time of this comment.
You can buy a Bluetooth FM transmitter from Amazon for $15
Sadly there seem to be a conflict between Android auto and echo dot
Stop saying "Alexa" so much or mute it out, everytime you say it, my home Alexa responds to it...
