When I first heard this song in 1975,I was so mesmerized at how great it was,I wrote down the lyrics and just kept them in my wallet for several years.
I bought the album "Physical Graffiti" for the songs "Kashmir' and "In the Light. I was in 8th grade. When I listened to "Ten Years Gone", it made me sad and I didn't know why. Then much later, I heard the story behind it and then I knew why. It remains one of my favorites!
Led Zeppelin songs are Compositions, they are more then songs. I find myself discovering their talent the older I get , they are like a fine scotch or they are like whiskey straight out of the bottle. But they never disappoint and I listen to a lot of music. All different kinds. And these guys are studio quality , bad boy rock Starr’s that are sophisticated in their writing and the playing of their instruments ……with a I don’t give a shit what anybody thinks attitude all mixed into one band the greatest of all time band. Led Zeppelin period.
Great song about a choice Robert made before he became famous. A woman he loved gave him a choice: live a life with me, or live your rock and roll life. Robert followed his heart, and chose music. One of Zep's great songs and ballads.
Maybe my favorite Zep track, most days anyways. The opening line has lifted me through some trying times in my life: "Then as it was, then again it will be, and though the course may change sometimes, rivers always reach the sea."
Jimmy had originally intended this to be an instrumental so there were some 14 guitar parts overdubbed on this song. It makes for a very rich, lush sound and Jonesy's bass is tastefully melodic.
Physical Graffiti was the apex of creativity in the Led Zeppelin catalog. The band was at the top of their game in songwriting and proficiency in playing their collective instruments. Simply the best hard rock folk band in world…
The best part is when Page alternately pulls his pick across all 12 strings, starting at the 4:49 mark, and then the six strings on his double-neck guitar. Then, for good measure, he hits the 12 strings once more. Love that little section right there.
Biz, been listening/watching your reactions to Zeppelin all winter, and after hearing these songs for decades, I'm hearing new stuff from your reviews. Many thanks
YAY!!! Been anxiously waiting for you to get to this one!! I can't wait to see your reaction and what u have to say about it!!! This is such a GOOD freaking song and one of my favs from them!!🤩 (although I love every Zep song!!😜) K, gotta let this one play while I finish a few things. Be back to sit down and actually watch it on the 2nd run-through and OF COURSE comment on it!!😁😂 Great way to start the week Biz!!😎
Absolutely one of their top songs. Ranks right up there with Kashmir and Stairway. Maybe it because my future wife and I made out during this song and the rest of Physical Graffiti.
This is my favourite Led Zeppelin song , they have so many Kashmir, In My Time of Dying, Stairway to Heaven, Trampled Underfoot, The Rain Song, you my friend know your great Rock Albums Let There Be Rock Lynyrd Skynyrd 1st Van Halen 1st Pink Floyd , Wish you were here album is a must Try some Joe Bonamassa live at Beacon Theatre with Beth Hart "ill Take Care of You" or Live at Greek Theatre Angel of Mercy / Thrill is Gone Great Reviews 👍
Love this song, Biz. Another masterpiece from Jimmy. That second solo just speaks to me. Fasten your seatbelts and put your trays in an upright position for the next one. “So I said goodbye to all my friends, and packed my hopes inside a matchbox, because I know it’s time to fly”. Bars. Biz, Kansas, “Song For America”.
Its always interesting to watch someone messing around with one of the best bands of all time. Can you hear the influence of the Mississippi delta blues. This music has a strange mystical mystery sound to it. It can change your perception. Be careful.
Top Zepp tunes.. Rain Song.. In My time of Dying.. Nobody's Fault.. 10 Yrs Gone.. Achilles Last Stand.. In The Light.. Trampled Under Foot.. How many more Times.. I can list 10 more
Yeah this is definitely a good one and, of course, another 🔥🔥🔥🔥 review fam!!!! I have to admit … I have never listened to Physical Graffiti all the way through and I am really enjoying this!!! I know this song and several others, I just haven’t heard the all. I don’t know anyone better than 💯KBiz!!!!! You da best fam!!! Thank you!!!! 💞
Check out the Led Zeppelin song “The Rain Song” from the album “Houses of the Holy”. Ten Years Gone and The Rain Song are my 2 absolute favorite Led Zeppelin songs. Houses of the Holy could have been album number 3 of Physical Graffiti (double album release). Btw, I subscribed to your channel after watching your review of the Nightwish song Ghost Love Score. Your musical picks to review are on point. I love watching your response to brilliant music. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I appreciate them more now than when I was a teenager. The guys wore it out! They were never played on the radio. Most rock was underground. In Texas the radio station , The Zoo broke out with rock. People spent so much money and time to pull them off the air! Seems unreal now. I'll tell you there's still plenty underground. Take " Whore and Bad Wolf" In This Moment. One person made it to the radio after years is ,PRETTY RECKLESS, all her music is good to me.....Heaven ,Take me down. Acoustic versions and regular
For something very different, and to lift the mood and I bet you will be the first reactor ever to do this, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Reasons to be cheerfull part 3. Ian Dury suffered from some bone deform issues, there is a medical term for it by it Ican't spell. The Blockheads are one tight fuky band. Even if you have the words you may have some comprehension problems but you'll get the vibe and its a good one. Oh and the live version or in concert is better as you can see the band and Ian. They preform just as good live as in studio and its great watching Ian preform.
ten years gone is my new fav rock song of all time,,stairway is best song ever made, tho,,,my 2nd best songs, tie,,is,,,,,,,forevermore by whitesnake and im the mountain by stoned jesus,,,
I suppose this album is Robert's most "mature" set of performances -- but I still prefer the rawness, energy, and spark heard on Zeppelin's earlier albums.
This album was awesome but a little "all over the place" with its vibe to me. The next album, Presence, might be my sleeper favorite, with Zeppelin I probably topping my list 🤔
This song would be epic if it weren't for the hideously out of place middle few minutes of the song--especially the second half of that middle section in which Robert sings. Unfortunately it ruins an otherwise brilliant track.
This gets better every year. 10 years gone is incredible > but 40 years gone is just unstoppable
As much as I love Led Zeppelin, this particular song has a special place in my heart. It's absolutely beautiful!
Same! 💯

You got that right my friend! 100
"with a I don’t give a shit what anybody thinks attitude" I mean, their last album they put in a brown wrapper, in response to critics.
Great song about a choice Robert made before he became famous. A woman he loved gave him a choice: live a life with me, or live your rock and roll life. Robert followed his heart, and chose music. One of Zep's great songs and ballads.
THANK GOD!!!
Buh-bye.
What choice!?
Maybe my favorite Zep track, most days anyways.
The opening line has lifted me through some trying times in my life:
"Then as it was, then again it will be, and though the course may change sometimes, rivers always reach the sea."
When it comes to Zeppelins catalogue there are little to no bad choices
One of my favorite songs of all time. Never gets old.
Criminally underrated Zepic. A true masterpiece. That solo can make a grown man weep..
I tear up every time 🖤
incredible song, incredible album.
This is a dope song and you having found personal meaning in it, makes it just that much better.
Jimmy had originally intended this to be an instrumental so there were some 14 guitar parts overdubbed on this song. It makes for a very rich, lush sound and Jonesy's bass is tastefully melodic.
I was 15 when this album came out and listened EVERY night ! was supposed to be doing homework , this was much better
Me too...I was 15!
Physical graffiti is one of the 5 best albums in rock history it’s a masterpiece !👊
A top 3 Zeppelin song for me!! It’s great. It’s great. I’ve been waiting for you to get to this song.
Physical Graffiti was the apex of creativity in the Led Zeppelin catalog. The band was at the top of their game in songwriting and proficiency in playing their collective instruments. Simply the best hard rock folk band in world…
This song is under rated,,,,,,top 10 from Zeppelin,,,,💥💥💥👍😎
One of my favorite songs of all time ..

Great reaction bro , You remind first time I heard this song 45 years ago and the tears. Zep rules
Damn, you killed that about the family relationships. I feel exactly the same. Exactly 100%.

This is one of my favorite songs off one of my favorite Zeppelin albums!
So sentimental and 'rollin'
Kashmir is my favorite. It's also my ring tune
Absolutely one of their top songs. Ranks right up there with Kashmir and Stairway.
Maybe it because my future wife and I made out during this song and the rest of Physical Graffiti.
One of Damone's rules - when it comes time to make out, always put on side 2 of Led Zeppelin IV ;-)
A true masterpiece
This is my favourite Led Zeppelin song , they have so many Kashmir, In My Time of Dying, Stairway to Heaven, Trampled Underfoot, The Rain Song, you my friend know your great Rock Albums
Let There Be Rock
Lynyrd Skynyrd 1st

Biz, listening to Zep with you means we're related now.
🙌🏿🙌🏿🤘🏿
Biz you always react to classic rock songs that I will take to my grave
This song is named "ten years gone" but in my case it's more like 40years gone, since l last heard this song🤟
I appreciate them more now than when I was a teenager. The guys wore it out! They were never played on the radio. Most rock was underground. In Texas the radio station , The Zoo broke out with rock. A gorgeous song! Zeppelin never misses! I can't pick a favorite!
love love this song , theres a cover band called virtual zeppelin , they do an awesome cover of this .

My favorite song from “Physical Graffiti.”
Physical Graffiti is their masterpiece IMHO and, to think,, many of the songs are leftovers from previous recording sessions.
Physical Graffiti and Houses of the Holy could have been combined to make a 3 album release IMHO.
ten years gone is my new fav rock song of all time,,stairway is best song ever made, tho,,,my 2nd best songs, tie,,is,,,,,,,forevermore by whitesnake and im the mountain by stoned jesus,,,
here's a comment cuz i hear they help the channel.

Great song Biz.
Get lost in the Led Zeppelin sauce!!🔥🔥🔥
I'm sure I'm not the first to suggest. But maybe give a live version a listen
Love it!
The Wanton Song. The Wanton Song!
Off this album my favorite song is Kashmir
This is their best album. I'll decide for you hehehehe
Smoooooooooooooth
Brilliant s of this band is unbelievable if you are going to react to them start from the first album and just go through them all
This album was awesome but a little "all over the place" with its vibe to me. The next album, Presence, might be my sleeper favorite, with Zeppelin I probably topping my list 🤔
Jimmy Paige does a version with the Black Crows he's a guitar master
☮️💜
this song is.

Insane. I think it’s what makes the song great. That 30 seconds is fire.
Yooo you gotta be crazy my man. I can’t even comprehend not enjoying this song. You know what they say about different strokes, though…
Nonsense! You need a good hearing-aid matey!
