  • The last light GVM sent me arrived broken and I repaired it in a livestream, and they still sent me another light to review, so I guess they're pretty good. Today we're having a look at their new entry into the light bar field, the PRO BD45R. This one come in bigger and heavier than most of the competition, and we're going to see what tricks it has up its sleeve(s).

I somehow* forgot to mention the most annoying thing about this light: when you attach some Big batteries to it for awesome battery life, it gets HEAVY and awkward to mount and use. Not impossible by any means, just annoying.
*I forgot because I was mostly using it on external power during the review and I have the attention span of a goldfish apparently 😂

Thank you for this video it is very helpful. Is the mount at 9:14 available to purchase separately of the AD300? I would like to mount this from a drop ceiling and have been struggling to find the right mount.

It’s called the Godox AD-E2. Can be found at a variety of places :)

Compared to lumecube tube and other brands, do I get it correctly that only GVM tube can produce multiple gradation colors at one time, where other brands can only have one solid color on the whole tube at one time?

Yeah, that’s usually called “pixel control”, which the lumecube doesn’t do, but there are a few others that do. They tend to be more expensive, though.

Hi Wes. Just got my lights and looking for a good way to mount them on stands. What are you using for the mount in this review?

I’m just using a tripod and attaching it to the arca Swiss mount on it.
When handheld just a 1/4 20 threaded handle.

      @@WesPerry when you're showing off the effects, that's the 1/4 ?

The gvm seems substantially softer too? Are my eyes deceiving me?
