That place has been around for at least 15+ years. The guy started out as a cart near venango and germantown. Only sold pork and chicken kebabs before he opened the restaurant. Always had a line bc it smelled so good walking by. Glad to see he survived Covid and the bad neighborhood.
North Philly is wild but I found ppl tend to be nice and personable. When I brought some friends to N Philly and we were standing in line with that long azz Max's wait time, the locates had me cracking up.
Love this spot! I use to work around the area and would order food from here all the time. Cheap, clean, "healthier" than most joints. I sometime would come in and order just chicken kabobs in the rolls or the kabobs itself. But hands down, one of my favorite spot and I love the people who works there. Thank you for shining the spotlight onto this spot. Those are good people who works there and deserve the attention. 🙏
It's one of those times you DO NOT want to watch on a empty stomach.. Man food looking good
My guess was $60 plus tax. Figured $20 for each platter. That was a lot of food!

Nothing better than an Asian Restaurant in the Hood. Best Chinese I had, was a fusion shack that sold collard greens on the menu alongside of dumplings and sweet ribs.
Every time that I turn around you've got me driving from Baltimore to Philly for a meal.

JL: that was unbelievable ! You're right just for short ribs alone in a Korean bbq restaurant they charge $30! I was guessing $45 for everything but at $38 it's a steal. Now, when I visit Philly I need to stop bye after picking up some cheesesteaks at Max's! Happy Holidays🎉

$38 is the best deal ever. Here in Missouri ( it depends on where you go & what area) it’s going to cost you a good $55 & up for all 3. Plus you have to pay for the sauce

From the beginning I had the $50 in my pocket... What a great place. I've been stating for years, 'if only we could teletransport', I'd be there tomorrow.

West Philadelphia Born n raised!!!! Me and my wife went there 2day....the food was the BOMB!!!! U blew it up because it was crowded and it ran out of Short Ribs...I got the 2 ribeye steaks over Rice and shrimp n my wife got the chicken over rice. Game changer!!!!! That's one of our new go2 spots!!!! But we will be there early next time!!!

This has been a staple in the area for a hot minute. The way it looks on the outside puts people off especially since your in the hood. I walk pass there everyday and its a chill spot BUT NOW jl about to have the lines out the door again 😂
That food was amazing!! Those short ribs looked so good. It's 9 PM and I could go for that right now.
When we stop calling it a hood and go back, yes back to calling it neighborhood , business will pick 🆙 .

That dont make sense because it is the hood. Places literally be dangerous and people get killed alot.

Facts are facts North Philly is the hood period. That doesn't mean you need a bodyguard with you to get food. Be aware of your surroundings like you should no matter were you are and you'll be fine.
This is fair priced food& stacked high!
I only do buffets$14.99 for Chinese like food since the price is the same for a meal these days...but this looked good

Hi JL, I forgot to mention that I have also been to the Pub, and their steaks are fantastic. Like I said before, if you received my comment from before. YOU ARE GREAT! I love all kinds of food. Those 2 guys need to keep quiet because they are acting like children. Too LOUD and attracting attention.
I will continue to watch you. We have a new barbecue that opened last week in Willingboro NJ. It's called either 1191 Barbecue, or 1911. I have to try it. BTW, I LOVE your Wife. She's sweet and pretty.

The shrimp,chicken job,ribeye steak is the best one very tick,everything looked great .like said you cook from the heart and love what you’re doing,will go along way.

Food looks great. There are hidden gems in the hood sometimes lol. My guess is you paid $50 for that being that you were in the hood. Otherwise for all that food it would have been more. Nice video as always! ☺️

Great Indian Spot in Voorhees NJ you should hit - NIMIT PALACE. An absolute gem of a place with fantastic food, fantastic staff, and fantastic prices (lunch special).
Agree on portion size and price and grilling vs fried is world of difference.Only thing good fried is chicken,do the rest over coals or flat top and that joint serves what appears to be STREET vendor food or food truck and thats a compliment as there rocking it in a building.
$50 including tax? In S. Cali, a plate like that would cost at least $15, so 3 plates with tax would cost around $50.
I'd say $50 for all that is good.

Came up in "the hood" in NYC, down on the LES, what some folks would call the place not to go. That don't really mean much to me. And I've been to North Philly back in the day. All I know is that food looks damn good, and the prices are unbelievable. I'm not that close these days, but my son's working in Pa, and I might just make a little detour to get me some on the way there or the way back home. Thanks for this, and I hope this episode don't screw up their vibe.

Dont know how i ended up on your channel but im glad i did. Anyone from the hood knows theres no food like hood food. Its because the food is cooked just like mom and pop would cook it if they were cooking if for their own family. No recipe book.. just a feel for how food is supposed to taste

Short ribs sweet chili 2 orders of beef kabobs everything out the door is cash money. Very under rated establishment for the price point.

Uncle Sam gon' get their's one way or the other 🙃 I guessed around $30 - $38 Bucks including Tax & considering how Prices have gone thru the Roof since COVID & people trying to re-coup their losses, those Meals are a Bargin! By the time you buy those items at the Grocery/Meat Market, their Meals are still Cheaper! Save Wifey some cause I know she gon' smash/mash it up 😋
