    Such a foggy day in London. To me, foggy take off is quite cool, the plane just keeps flying even you can't see anything. SQ really have a good long-haul product.

    Absolutely brilliant video! Take off, LHR footage, Changi footage, the food, the maps, the on screen narration. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video of my favourite airline SQ. I hope you do some more SQ soon. Great work 👏

    Hi! Thank you for the detailed review! I just wanted to ask about when the cabin crew dimmed the lights for people to rest? In other words, was there any time when you needed to close the window shade while it was still light outside? You did mention it at 13:06, but I was hoping you could tell me more, like for how long, etc.? I love looking out the window, especially in the day, so I just wanted to know more about the times when cabin configurations make me unable to! Many thanks! :)

    My first flight ever was with Singapore Airlines economy in 1988, looking at the food it's gone downhill a great deal since those days. I've flown any times since and no airline food matched that flight on SIA.

    Absolutely insane that 7:10 to 7:21 the clouds are THAT LOW to the ground and it took next to no time to get past that layer! London weather strikes again lol

    I took this flight recently although in business class, I've tried many airlines including all the perceived top 10 and I still prefer SQ in any class ... Great video 👍

    You're absolutely right, the 777 is a great plane to fly on, and it's my favourite aircraft type. Just some feedback, though, I think your video could be improved if you didn't play music over the sound of the engines at pushback, taxi, takeoff and landing especially. The sound of the GE90s at start-up is music to my ears.

    I agree with BF31 about the music. It's somewhat distracting. Air travel has progressed in some ways and regressed in others. I especially miss the meals. Yummy in every way and impeccable service.

    I flew from Frankfurt to Singapore in 1998 on a Boeing 747-400 with Singapore airlines. That was the first time I saw an IFE aboard an airliner (I don't fly much though).
    The flight was amazing and Changi airport was a sight on it's own compared to Frankfurt.
    I hope to do it again one day after the blasted pandemic.

      @@madaviation7013 The IFE back then was almost like today's. No touchscreens though and rather low resolution. It had movies and an integrated Super Nintendo (or an emulation of one that ran over the on board computers). I remember playing F-Zero and some boxing game on it. So long ago...

    I would have thought it wise to let transit passengers off the plane before non-transit ones, especially when a plane arrives late. Sad to see the cuts in customer service in SIA economy; no magazines, menu cards or appetisers to the meals.....plus significantly higher fares from London. For the last twenty years or so, we have always used SIA without even looking at alternative carriers when visiting my wife's family in MNL once or twice a year but given these changes, we will now consider alternatives.

    • @madaviation7013
      @madaviation7013  2 года назад

      Either way the fact that the non transit passengers disembarked first , didn't affect my transit flight but I see your point. Also it is quite unfortunate that there is no magazines and the other usuals on the plane. I remember a magazine and menu was always provided when I flew with the likes of Emirates and Etihad (before the pandemic). The pandemic has really changed how airlines manage their flights.

    • @Lakesider52
      @Lakesider52 2 года назад +1

      @@madaviation7013 Agreed. These small things added up to superior customer service that separated SIA from other airlines but now I have my doubts. That said, I am restricted to a small number of airlines when flying to Manila as bitter experience has taught me to arrive well between the morning and evening peak hours to avoid insane traffic on the 60 - 90 min. drive from the airport to home so really it's a choice between SIA, Thai, PR and Cathay. Good that your connection was not affected.

      I've also travelled to Philippines - just been there a month ago. This flight was actually the first flight of my trip there - my final flight was on Scoot. I usually go there once in 1-3 years and I've tried several airlines during my previous visits. Also Traffic is a huge thing to consider I must say upon arrival at the terminal.
