Hello, My 3 year old son has cf. he needs to eat so much to keep up his weight so i have been doing lots of research. i was on you tube yesterday looking for a way to use coupons and came across one of your videos. I never thought about someone having a blog out there about living with cf, I'm not sure why sense its a great idea lol. anyways I started watching your videos from the beginning(a little weird maybe sry lol). I never comment on videos or anything but i really just had to say how incredible I think you are for living so gracefully with this disease. You are such a wonderful soul that has lifted me up with your encouraging words. I'm grateful to you for making your videos because now I have some idea of what things may be like and how to encourage my son as he grows older. I also have to say Peter is an amazing man to stand by your side and so all that he does for you. relationships are very hard but with a disease they are even harder, and you too are seriously the cutest. i hope my son will find what you guys have found one day. I wish you all the very best with whatever you guys do, and I hope you have a long and wonderful life. please keep up with your videos as long as you can because you guys are truly inspirational!!!
It was actually really hard for me to watch the PT session. I seen the struggle you were going through Mary and it made me really emotional to watch! Your husband is so amazing with helping you through each and everyday. I'm actually a new subscriber and found you guys and i've actually watched a couple of previous videos. I'm glad to be here and i'm very glad that i get to join your RUclips family and be a supporter! :)
You are the most optimistic person I know. I encouraged my friend to start watching you guys because she was diagnosed with a horrible disorder and was super deprested. Since she started watching your vids she has been super happy and cheerful again :) keep it up you guys

Your guys commitment to each amazes me every time I watch your videos. I have fibromyalgia and autonomic nervous system disorder and am a narcoleptic and am a single mother of a three year old and I struggle every day to keep going. My health has been going down recently and I'm about to have back surgery and you guys give me hope to keep going. And maybe one day I will find someone like Peter who will be as gracious and understanding of my health issues.

Peters love for you is very obvious. I have a chronic illness and I know what a blessing it is to have a compassionate husband who helps you handle the disease. Peter is so quick to be there for support during your coughing fits and it’s super sweet and heart breaking. You can see the concern for you and the care he has for you. It’s a beautiful thing. Keep fighting the good fight. Anything is possible with God!

You are such an inspiration to me, both of you. I live with a chronic illness. It's hard planning your life around your good days, and harder when you can't do something because of a bad day. Despite the hard times, you always have a smile on your face and enjoy your life. I do the same, as do my husband who has to take care of both my daughter and me some days. All the same, we are a very happy family! My 9 year old daughter loves watching your vlog, and will sometimes ask, "Mommy, how are Mary and Peter today?"

I'm glad that you found a salon that you can tolerate. I love Panera. Their white cheddar Mac and cheese is my favorite. Target is also one of my favorite places. I call it "The Happiest Place on Earth." I love the "hillbilly" method of cooking shrimp. So creative! I agree with Mary that organizing is fun.

Wow this brings back memories. My sister has CF and this was such a normal thing. She had a physio board and my brother did her percussions every day before school and at supper. He is 11 years older than her and he would be late for high school so that he could do her treatments every day. She hasn't done the manual pt for a really long time so I've never seen the method you used. We used a very hard hand with cupped palms. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Peter you are amazing! I have CF and nobody in my family ever did this for me (because it was not really necessary). Only my boyfriend did it for some months every night after the two weeks i spent in the hospital recently. However, i can't imagine someone of my friends or family doing this every night for me..forever. you are amazing!

This video is amazing. But I giggled at myself whwn u said you where listening to the audio tape of the Bible... I literally never thought that would be an audio book! No idea why! Susan Sanders - some people have a bin specifically marked "biohazards" for these products, and every so often they drop the contents off (at the clinic) when it gets full.

I love how smart he is. Most guys would just grab the plate with absolutely no towel or pot holder 😂
Also I used to have to do a nebulizer but it messed with my body and made me like hallucinate or some weird stuff like that so they took me off it.
The crack pot thing made me laugh. Did you ever hear of the crab place in Baltimore called Crack Pot?
Praying for you always Mary. If you guys could say a prayer for my little 4 month old cousin Evan who was born with Stage 2, Group 2 Childhood Cancer.. I'd appreciate it. I'm so attached to him. So let me just say-- my family is "in this world now" with a terrible disease with NO cure.. But there's *HOPE* and God.. And prayer and new technology and meds. You guys are now my inspiration as I get ready to go on this "medical" journey with my baby cousin and family. Mary I wish you all the BEST always and pray very hard for you. I pray God continues to heal you and please know that us viewers care so very much about you. *ENJOY THE JOURNEY*... I know like nothing about the disease but isn't there like a mucase thinning medicine out there or something because on have to take IG if yo have pneumonia and the mucas is too thick to drain out and my second question is this sort of like phemionia with the mucase in lungs
I find myself unconsciously deep-breathing for you, Mary, as if maybe it'll help or something. I wish it really would help... the coughing is so obviously miserable for you.

Thank you so much for posting this video. Its very informative. You may have answered this previously but how long is the entire PT Chest routine? And how often is it done?
+Gabby Jackson about 20-30 minutes. and its done three times a day in the hospital, and one or twice a day at home in addition to my two 30 minute vest treatment.
Thank you of the super quick response. And thanks for making these videos they are so informative and provide a prospective of medicine I would not have otherwise really known- that of the patient living with CF, especially a young adult.

Great Strides is coming up in Sacramento and I'm hoping to get out there and walk it again! The event is so much fun...really....it's a full day of music, dancing, free food, vendors and inspiring people. Everyone should check it out in their town and walk/run to raise money and awareness for cystic fibrosis! That pt session was so interesting to watch. It seems very time consuming but I think peter is really good at it. He seems like a pro! Question: why do you all do pt and not use the vest for all of it. Is pt proven to work better than the vest? I was just curious.
Krista Brown I believe studies have shown manual chest PT to be the most effective...also, it is definitely the most effective for my lungs right now. the vest is great for everyday maintenance, but since I'm trying to be aggressive and get these lungs healthier and stronger, we are choosing to do PT instead of the vest for now
