A Sonic Heroes remake is rumored for next year, not gonna hold my breath, but since it was my first Sonic game and one of my favourites, it would make me so happy if its true.
I also like how in the beginning of the fight, Shadow was in the lead/had the advantage, But through the end, Sonic wins, It's kinda like his Archie version where it's almost impossible for Sonic to lose.
Its funny that everyone is saying "Shadow let Sonic win" I mean did I watch a different cutscene? The fact is Shadow realized that if he used his new Doom Power, it cements that Sonic is the superior fighter. Sonic was even put running him, no alien DNA, no air shoes, just pure skill. Even Omega mentions this after the fight.
I find it telling that Shadow wants to fight on fair terms with Sonic. Ever since Sonic first used Chaos Control with a fake Chaos Emerald back in SA2… something Shadow thought was impossible, Shadow’s respect for Sonic really went through the roof. Even when he lost his memory… it seemed like a part of him couldn’t help but acknowledge Sonic… and when his memories returned… all the more respect was gained. Shadow, knowing that these Doom powers aren’t guaranteed to remain forever, didn’t acknowledge them as his own powers… and Shadow wants to either defeat Sonic with his own powers, or not at all. I like how, even if he won’t admit it to Sonic himself, it’s clear to us and Rouge just how important his rivalry with Sonic is to him.
