They are such a hot couple. Ben tip toeing to kiss his man. Callum's hand. Callum's HUGE hands. Neck kiss! Sometimes if actors have a big height difference TV series try to play it down with camera angles, the other actor wearing cuban heals or some other tricks, so I am really loving Eastenders deciding to embrace the ballum heigh diffence. It's just a lovely little thing that makes me love them even more.
Bens face when his dad blanked him & stormed out truly broke me. He then suggested going to the footy & Phil snubbed him again then the looks when Ben can't understand him. All Ben wanted to do is tell him bout his op confirmation, Phil couldn't even give his son the time of day. Just in those few minutes the amount of pain Ben must of gone through is heart wrenching & he has tolerated this all his life. Callum being that constant rock for Ben is a testament to the love he has for him. Love like this is hard to find😍😍😍😍😍
Anyone notice the continuity error during the kiss where Tony’s hands begin on Bens waist then they’re cradling face 😂 got me thinking ... they did this more than once huh 😏

AND...Ballum are back! Seriously, love having these two in one single frame. Their scenes ooze with chemistry! But didn't like Phil's dismissive attitude towards Ben's operation, and the way he spoke of Callum. At the end of the day, all that Phil wants is for Ben to be just like him. He may have put Danny in his place by the end of the episode, but he knows that Ben's weakness is approval and he plays on that. Thank you, Zebra!
Seriously this is got to be one of the best gay couple on TV, their scenes just seem so genuine. Max and Tony have so much chemistry, they’re amazing actors for portraying this to be so real on TV. Plus that kiss was so hot, Ben wanted to turn Callum on, and I think it worked 😉

Ben was so excited to tell Phil about his operation and Phil just walked out the door, my heart broke for him and I still hate phil. It must be frustrating talking to phil, he talks too fast and doesn't really look at you when talking, mate your son is deaf, slow down please and look at him. That ballum scene was amazing, just them being happy and in love with each other and that neck kiss, I don't think I'll ever get over that.

I give the show writers credit showing the gay intimacy. On Emmerdale it was awful in the end between Danny Miller and Ryan Hawley they looked so awkward and uncomfortable playing a gay couple it looked so homophobic. Yet here Max and Tony despite both being 100% straight in real life very convincing playing gay men. They seem really comfortable and safe with each other.

Maybe it was the many years of playing/pretending that got them or was it the writers/directors? I remember in the beginning between Aaron/Robert, there were some really intense scenes where the sparks just flew (especially when it was still a secret).

I'm fine straight actors playing gay when they act like professionals but we also need some equal opportunity here. I feel like we rarely see LGBT actors in LGBT roles as well. Unfortunately, only watching gay storylines if the actors are gay means you'd be watching nothing. I am happy just to find out of them actors in the couple is LGBT. I always make sure to follow Russell Tovey's career because I know he'll play a gay character 90% of the time, and he's a good actor on top of that.

I am torn on that subject, will be honest I loved the Robron story line, and watched it after I watched all of Ballum up to date in late Jan. The big difference between the two couples and affection seems IMO to be that ED is a bit more reserved than EE, even with straight couples. I think all of the actors are amazing and I enjoy watching them. I hate Phil, but we are supposed to hate Phil, so job well done. I hate that Ben called himself weak. It was nice to see the guys kiss and hug a bit in the kitchen.

He was shown being comfortable being a doofus in the halfway “days” lol. So? I think deep down Callum has been and is a lot more confident than Ben. Ben just puts on his armor to prove to others (and to himself) he’s mr tough man Mitchell, when he’s not. So? Atm? It’s callum’s turn to be protective and there for Ben - like Ben was when Callum was coming out. (And Ben just lacks confidence, he’s a lot of bravado and talk). Also Callum wasn’t pulling away. He had to leave to make it on time to something important, which is why he was joking w Ben and telling him not to keep initiating something when he had to leave.
