    This is EXACTLY the video I've been praying for. Yes, the cars are amazing, but I'm super interested in the BTS logistics, infrastructure and hardware that's used.
    Please please please do more stuff like this! Maybe some trackside camera stuff.

      Emphatically seconded! I've been dying to know how the onboard cameras work, not to mention so much else about the TV broadcasts. It's all fascinating to me, and really goes to show how much incredible engineering and technological development is happening, and not just limited to the cars!

    • @zahraali4326

    • @Hechaldo
      @Hechaldo 29 дней назад +23

      Yes, but as a driver you don't see those vibrations because the human eyes and brain work to stabilize the image, but looking at the footage on TV is just awful. The best camera is the gyro cam on the car.

    • @seashackf1
      @seashackf1 29 дней назад +5

      Exactly. Just like riding a motorcycle, especially off road. Your body and brain mitigates the vast majority of the movement.

    • @toweri_li
      @toweri_li 10 дней назад

      In my opinion (that may prove somewhat unpopular - but still: ) the helmet camera should be stabilized. Human eyes - together with inner ear vestibular system - removes much of the instability you see in the current HelmetCam view. So should the camera do. Current view is not natural and is dissimilar to what you actually visually experience.

You have this camera (mostly in the turns and on the kerbs) that is flat and the drivers drive over them. I also wonder how that is done and looks like. Also I have been a few times to a formula event and I saw the races live, you see a lot of camera people and crew trying to capture everything. Also like 3 helicopters in the sky following everything.

    I would love to hear more about this. What are the data rates, resolution, fps, how many receivers are needed? What's the range and bandwidth of the transmitter and why? Is it dynamic? Why 10 GHz? Whats the power consumption and weight, what are currently the limiting factors of the image quality? How do cars affect each other. Are there interference problems and how are they being solved? Is every camera always recording? Why isn't the telemetry HUD in the TV transmission perfectly synced to the camera image? Is the rapidly varying speed difference between car and receiver a problem?

    max's visor cam was on the left side of his helmet during the austrian sprint qually instead of the usual right side, would love some insight into what that was about. also the F1 Academy visor cam is rarely used but seems more centered and doesn't experience as much chromatic aberration, maybe because their tear offs are different?

    The next we need is the option/possibility to switch between cameras yourselves

    Not only would watching overtakes be less clear, and reviewing incidents less clear,there would be no T-Cam in F1 games😭

    I hadn't noticed that the T-cam has two protruding spikes on top of it. I don't think that those spikes were there in the past.

    If you guys could work with the helmet manufacturers to place the camera in the helmet but center position instead of off to the side (without blocking the driver's view), that would be too cool!

    Awesome video!
    Does anyone know how they transmit all that video and audio data from any racetrack in the world in realtime to the UK? That's insane!

    I would be intrigued to hear about the various trials that appear fleetingly and are then never seen again. Tyre temperature overlay, ghost images, minisectors etc.
    Also an unrelated point, but have always wondered why Indycar orients on-car logos to make them the right way up and prominent when viewed from on board but F1 often does not. (I'm thinking about sidepods rather than halo.)
    Are halo ads cheaper because they are frequently obscured by graphics?
