Vic is Oz's foil and "family" he had to die. If you watch Oz's wardrobe throughout the series he at one point looks like a "baby" penguin, then he dresses like an adolescent penguin and by the end he's the "Emperor Penguin"! Great writing!
Keeping his mom in that vegetative state after she clearly told him that’s the last thing she would’ve wanted is why she shedded a tear at the end in my opinion.
wow I had completely forgotten about that. That's DEVESTATING because he promised her! And it proves Sophia's point that Oz doesn't love his mom, he's only keeping her around for his own benefit.
He's a monster which is perfect. If you watch the Joker in the deleted scene from the Batman you'll realize they're going in the very dark direction with the villians which I love. They're going to try to outdo each other on who's the most evil. The Joker wanted to see pictures because he wanted to see the death and carnage of the Riddler. Blood lust. Batman 2 is going to be a masterpiece and top any superhero movie ever done on film. These are REAL people which makes them more terrifying. No special powers or none of that. Just evil psychopaths that are all serial killers.
@mauropedrosa7317 Tony Soprano wasn't as narcissistic as penguin. Penguin would literly allow his mother's finger to be chopped off just so he doesn't have to confess what he did to his brothers. Tony at least protected his family at all cost, no matter how dysfunctional his family was.
@@MrFredsttI don’t know about the torture. Since it looks like Sofia had been sitting quiet whereas she got it from the get go the first time and her dad was paying the head doctor. Penguin may be on top but I’m sure he isn’t worrying about her. He feels he is safe. Not realizing a Bat and maybe a Cat is coming for him.
“Ok. You have my attention now.” What if Selena hit up Batman too. For help. Sofia is half innocent (The Hangman). Maybe a little help. Take down Penguin and show how much of a monster he is to the people of Gotham and in return get Sofia out. Only way I see Sofia being released is if they frame Penguin for the crimes Penguin put on her (for both the crimes she did commit and the ones that Penguin did that he pinned on her) and finally being to light she isn’t The Hangman
@ now I wonder if Selena comes to save Sofia will Sofia have the same fate in The Long Halloween where Sofia was hellbent on revenge she fell as Selena tried to save her. Or will Selena get her outta there and with Batman send Oz to Arkham. Penguin will have no peace. He is on Batman’s radar now and Batman will disrupt his business
I think the moment Vic gave that inspirational speech to Oz he knew he might possibly one day be a threat. Especially since all the other underlings took out their bosses, and he knows that ambition for power can come from anywhere, even people you care about. Even that tiny sliver of a possibility was enough for Oz to take him out. Brilliant writing all around.
I think it was mostly when Victor said Oz was family to him, and after seeing how Sofia used his mom to control him, he didn't want anyone who could pull him down, so he killed him. Like Sofia said, his greatest asset is that he doesn't care about anyone. That's not true, he cares about certain people, so he kills them.
@@ScofieldStudios It was both for sure. I thought it came out of nowhere at first, but when you look at everything at happened from what OP mentioned to then Oz realizing Vic was an emotional liabiltiy, he had to die.
@@alexlazzerly3677 Oz knew Vic was someone close to him capable of making him feel limitless *just* like his Ma did; but Oz just endured the harrowing and painful experience having his Ma totally give up on him in disgust thanks to Sofia’s pushing, and he will do *anything* to avoid going through that again, letting family become psychological leverage against him
@hellfish2309 And now Oz is no longer pretending to care about how others feel about him. He knows how his mother truly feels but he doesn't care, she' his. She's basically his prisoner, but she's his and he's gonna continue to live in his delusion that he's doing everything for her cause that's all he knows. Eve is also a prisoner as well. This ending felt alot like the ending of "Gone Girl". Oz is truly a psychopath
Oz killing Vic is the return of the repressed. Vic saying he was family triggered Oz into killing him, because that's what he does - he kills his family because he doesn't know how to do anything else. Its instinct to him. To the Penguin, family and death are too inextricably bound up in each other.
I called it during episode 3 or 4. Actually I knew after the very first episode they would wait to either show the silhouette of Batman or his patented skylight at the end of this final episode before the end's rolling credits play. Sets things up nicely.
@@MrFredstt I don't know if he decided right then, but I think he definitely decided in *this* episode because of everything that happened with his mother. He realized he couldn't have anyone else he cared about in his life. If I had to pick a point when he decided, I'm thinking it was when Vic put his hand on his shoulder when Oz was kneeling at his mother's bedside begging her to say she was proud of him. That was his most vulnerable moment.
@MrFredstt I don't think so as I really think he did like him but after what he went through with his mother saying family to him was poor choice of words 😬😥
In a world where we have villains becoming anti heroes I’m glad the writing team made Oz this unforgivable monster throughout the show like he was in the comics.
This is one of the best endings to a solid show I've ever seen. Felt so strong on every level to me... Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti need f**king Emmys immediately!
@@Thisguy2532yep. They said the movie will take place right after. And that ending confirms it. “I’m coming for you Penguin.” Also I wonder if Selena hit up Batman and in the letter to Sofia she tells her to hang tight and she has friend who can help
@@Wolfking99-x4rPenguin will indeed be in the next movie. He’s on Batman’s radar now. I wonder if Selena hit up Batman for help. “I need your help. I need to get my sister. And I need to take down Penguin.”
There’s no competition, this is the most terrifying, formidable, devious, and ABSOLUTELY DESPICABLE version of The Penguin that has ever been made! Please give us The Batman 2 already so we can get more of Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, and please have Batman beat him so fucking badly that he winds up somehow even more disfigured. For Victor!
The actresses who play his mothers and his hooker girlfriend all look similar. Such a nice touch. The foreshadowing was there when it showed all the wigs and outfits in her apartment too. That final scene was haunting. Up there with Daredevil for me
@@MNToThat shouldnt he be mad at eve fpr selling out his mother? I thought he would kill her the moment he finds her. Oswald is really a messed up person.
Riddler was a psychotic methodical serial killer. Penguin is a ruthless mobster with an oedipus complex. I can't wait to see what flavor of lunatic the Joker is.
Please tell me youve seen the deleted Joker and Batman in Arkham scene from The Batman that's here on RUclips? It's tremendous and should have been left in the film... I really hope we get a lot more Barry Keoghan's take on this character because it's had me very, very much craving more.
@@KaptainBadAss I’ve seen it I hope they slowly build up the joker save him for the final film give other villains time to shine while building the best one with a Gotham this hopeless what kind of joker would we get in the deleted scene he read Batman and riddler like a book like a modern day lector
@@extraordinarygamer937 I understand what you sayin and you right Joker as a whole has been overused in the WRONG ways agreed I want other villains too shine they nailed Riddler and Penguin imagine scarecrow or hush maybe clayface but what we need is a proper Batman vs Joker story which we haven’t gotten since dark knight and that was 2008 joker is at his best when Bats is involved imagine bats vs joker in this Gotham as the last film
37:00 this part is extra brutal when you remember that his mother asked Oz to kill her if she ever fully succumbed to her disease. Yet instead he just left her alive.
He should’ve done it quick behind the head with a bullet but man for Victor to see and feel it to the end probably made Vic in his last thoughts maybe he should’ve have gotten on that bus with his girl.
Was necessary for The penguin to be the ultimate mob boss in Gotham. People can be angry but this is the freakin Penguin! More evil than the Arkham one
That last scene with Eve and Oz was crazy lmao. I was really upset by Sofia going back to Arkham and Vic's death. I need Batman to get his ass in part two!
But she got that letter from Selena her half-sister. I think Selena is coming to get her. There’s no word on if Selena & Sofia will be in The Batman 2. Only Batman (obviously), Gordon, & Penguin. Maybe their own mini series too
By throwing the ID into the river... Vic is erased, no one will know who he is, no one will care... Everyone will think he is just another nameless victim to Gotham's darkness... Never knowing how true that really is.
I’m so relieved that Sofia survived. While I hate that she’s living a fate worse than death ending up back in Arkham (which honestly practically is hell), she now knows that she has a sister in Selina Kyle. And I absolutely believe that Selina will try to find some way to get her sister out of Arkham.
I hope maybe a miniseries with them. Sofia trying to atone for the actual crimes she committed and maybe she & Selena pin them on Penguin to get payback since he has to end up in Arkham soon anyways like he does in all versions. And get cleared of what she went in for the first time.
@@thedarkknight2221 and since this an Elseworlds Selena could in the end with help from Batman/ Bruce Wayne and maybe Gordon they get Sofia released. Sofia said in the end she wants Penguin to suffer that being offed is too good for him. Cause if other variations Sofia is taken out. But as we know Elseworlds other stuff can happen. I mean in Justice League: Gods & Monsters Lex Luthor & Superman are at odds but are both good guys. So here Selena could probably take Batman’s alive from what he said when he stopped her from shooting Carmine that she doesn’t have to go down like him. Who knows?
Selina Kyle reveal was nice. Vic dying by Oz hands.. his mom being dead but not dead was a twist and so gnarly. Sofia going back to Arkham was not what I expected and then the bat signal going on at the last frame.. this show was incredible. 💯💯💯 I can't wait for The Batman sequel. LFG
@@malikwilson7387 it’s poetic, but it’s a big swing; we are meant to accept that this experience with his Ma leveraged Oz so hard, that he wants to prevent that from ever happening again… it is a big swing, but not crazy
Collin Farrell wasn't joking when he said: you probably won't like oz by the end of the show Yeah the fuck we'll not, he killed vic! And almost got his moms fingers cut and killed his brothers as a kid! That's a true villain!
@@zstrikerlol literally I was like oh him and Oswald are gonna be in Batman 2 and Vic is his right hand and then the following ensued! I don’t think I’ve ever said fuck so many times in my life!
The song that was playing while Sofia was burning down the house is "In the Pines." It is an American folksong that dates back to almost a hundred and fifty years ago. It has been covered by numerous people and bands including Nirvana. They did a live cover for their MTV Unplugged session.
Did he ever have a choice? It was either follow penguin or die. The penguin wasn't going to let him live to begin with. I feel his death was done for shock value
@@petboy5839Did you even watch the show? He was literally there in the bus station with his gf and no one was stopping him. It was HIS choice to come back.
In the end, it shows that Oz may have had some humanizing moments throughout the show. But was and always will be the villain of the story and one of Batman's greatest enemies.
Show runner Lauren LeFranc said that Colin Farrell sent her “The Ballad Of Reading Gaol” by Oscar Wilde, and in it one of the quotes is “A great or little thing” and it’s about how each man destroys the thing he loves. So she thought it was a perfectly apt title for this shocking finale. She always thought of this show as a tragedy to its core, and goddamnit if it isn’t one of the most tragic endings of any tv series I’ve ever seen!
dc seriously did they thing with this, they have been hit or miss for a long time but this was a undoubtable hit from them. And the show this episode did a very good job reminding you the Penguin is not a anti hero he is a straight up VILLIAN 😭
Not so much of the people Oz cares about; he uses people, but in turn, bad things happen to the people who care about Oz because Oz doesn't care about anybody but himself, and I think this episode proves that he's a pathological liar so you can't even trust what he says anymore at this point on
That really just happened… and to think for a lot of people that was not a shocking thing to happen. At the end of the day, he is still a villain. What a show!👏
You can definitely see the inspiration of the Sopranos in this show, not over the top replica but still some of Oz’s mannerisms reminded me of Tony and we also got the toxic mother son dynamic.
Just a minor correction "Where did you sleep last night" was originally a Lead Belly song, and Nirvana covered it on their MTV Unplugged performance. Great reaction guys.
I like how everyone in Twitter is posting the clip of Arkham Origin Batman hurting Penguin after Penguin season 1 had ended since we all know what is going to happen with him in the upcoming Batman Movie.
This is the best the penguin character has ever been done in my opinion, they didn’t make him some kind of freak, they did him perfectly. It’s amazing. Not only that but they made him a mobster like he’s always been meant to be, like how he was in Arkham city and Arkham origins. They did him perfect.
Sofia probably got the happiest ending of the three people that got screwed over. Arkham probably isn't as bad without Carmine around, especially since the male inmates (Joker, Riddler) should be kept separate from her, and she just connected with a family member who actually cares about her.
@@TheAzulmagia But that is bold of Selena. Sofia grew up privileged and Selena like a lot can’t stand that type. But maybe cause of what happened to Sofia she’s hitting her up. That smile. We won’t know what was in the letter until maybe The Batman 2 IF Selena is in it cause there’s no word yet that she’s in it (filming starts in April I believe). But also why would Selena write her? She somehow had to have found out. For all we know she too beloved Sofia was the hangman. Maybe Selena did some digging herself. Oh man I can’t wait to find out.
The fact that his mom made him promise to kill her if she ever went into a vegetative state and instead Oz keeps her bed ridden, trapped in her own body is a form of punishment for what she said before. In the end, he even turned on his mom.
Yes!! Awesome commentary!! And it all makes sense because they paid off every single plot thread in a logical and satisfying way that many different opinions can be true and be reasonable is so great this is instantly classic and iconic..best show in a long time
All the people from last week that were misinterpreting what Lauren LeFranc said and saying Oz didn't mean to kill his brothers or that have been saying he truly cares for Vic when all he was doing was manipulation, I'm so happy this episode put a fine point on it and made it crystal clear just how much of a monster Oz is. Oz is the kind of creature that only tends to the things that serve him, once you've served your purpose, he's done. Fantastic series canNOT wait to see the Sofia/Selina linkup! So glad Cristin Milioti gets to stay in this universe.
I really didnt know how to feel about Oz but I know that as long as he had Vic with him, I knew there was still some light in his life… and he fucked that up. Damn you Oz. I cant believe he did mah boy like that. The whole season Reddit was predicting this and I was like nooooo way. I was so shocked and pissed.
26:11 The song is a cover of Leadbelly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" The famous cover was done by Nirvana in their MTV Unplugged album, so yes, it's perfect for The Penguin.
Love the potential of Selena and Sofia meeting up and potentially teaming up. Would love to see the two of them coming together to knock Oz off the top of his tower of lies.
Same. I see only way Sofia gets clear is The Hangman is finally brought to light that their dad is the one responsible. And for what Penguin pinned on Sofia to send her back they would have to find a way to pin it all on him since a lot of those he did himself (Maronis being offed) and framed her for (pin the crown point explosion on him) and even find out he has a politician on his payroll.
I don't think she'll have any part in the sequel movie. Her story is finished. The slena letter was just a nod to the movies. She's in prison with no mob power left. She burnt her family home and relinquished all territories to Oz's new army of luitenants
@ I don’t think Sofia cares for that anymore. I mean she wiped out the Bliss operation and that was her idea. She didn’t want that mansion anymore. She wanted to get far away and figure things out somewhere else. Cause if she continued this she would be her dad after all since all that was really his life.
@ Carmine Falcone wasn’t the main villain in The Batman but he was a main part. Penguin may have the same amount of screen time in The Batman 2 or a little more and still possibly be taken down or knocked down a peg. Remember there’s a plan for a 3rd movie. No need for a 2nd show cause fans now want Penguin to get his. As we get closer to when they start filming we could find out if Zoe Kravits will be in it or if she’ll have her own movie or mini series. Or save them for a future movie. Cause I know people are gonna wanna see Sofia again and hope she gets to Penguin too.
Rip Vic. To lose your parents by the Riddler's terrorist attack to being taken out by the man you saw as family, what a terrible end for Vic. His loyalty was repaid in blood. Penguin reminded everybody watching that he's not the good guy. He's the bad guy. He's a villain. He saw Vic as a weakness that could be used to hurt him, after what happened with his mom he couldn't let it happen again
This felt like a way for us to really see that Penguin is not only the villain of his story, but someone that needs to be taken down for good. For every good mob story, they will always fall from grace eventually
You know the show’s great when it makes you root for Oz like he’s the underdog but you get slapped at the end reminding you, Oz is EVIL. I’m ready for The Batman 2!
Either Oz is gonna get killed by Hush in the next movie or he's gonna be sent to prison after Batman destroys what he's built. There's a reason why the writers made him a hateable character in the show. It will be fun seeing Batman pummel Penguin.
“No one standing in your way,” and we see the Batman signal. A perfect way to set up a Batman cameo and to tie in that regardless of who won, Batman will be there to beat the shit out of, and I'm glad in that part that Oz “won” in the end
I said that too. He won but he is now in Batman’s radar. Maybe Selena hit Batman up in some way for help. Maybe she’s like a cat moving around getting info. Selena must know that her & Sofia’s dad is the hangman since her mom was offed by him and she herself almost had the same fate
@Reyna_Amaturi Exactly. That was my thought process the entire show. No matter who came out on top, whoever the new Kingpin of Gotham would officially be on Batman's hit list. And now this show has made us hate Oz guts so much, we can't wait to see Batman kick his ass in The Batman 2
@@Reyna_Amaturi I think he does care but not enough for him to not be who he is at his core. Someone in the comments said that Colin Ferrell sent a quote to the show runner from The Ballad of Reading Gaol which was a poem about men destroying the things they loved and the show runner thought that it fit perfectly. Can't really destroy the things you love if you didn't love them to begin with
Just give Matt reeves DC, this is the batman universe we love, it's gritty, dark, violent and that's what we love. This is the universe who can do the court of owls, Mr Freeze, mad hatter all those dark guys. I love this show.
@natbrookes85 the big thing for me espeically with this show is he isnt rushing to get to thr stuff that would get the biggest reaction. It also doesnt feel like the typical comic book movie adaption.
27:36 Dude the Cyan Blue lighting over Sofia is the same way they colour coded Selina in The Batman, Familial lighting language for the sisters is a crazy detail plus a little tease of what’s to come
I knew Vic had to die but damn man. At like the 45 minute mark I’m like okay, the climax has happened and Vic is still alive, did we get fooled and he lives to meet the fists of justice? But nope, they did a good job making Oz irredeemable. Vic really should’ve left with his lady. Now I can’t wait to watch Batman whoop Oz’s ass
What’s crazy was that the whole time he displayed how much he loved his mom but was willing for Sophia to cut her finer rather than to tell his mom the truth
RIP Vic, the true "beautiful boy."💔 I needed that Bat-Signal after that, for an ounce of hope. The way I screamed for joy (all by myself) when I saw it.👀😂
This last episode was a chef kiss. Truly revealed and sold the full view his narcissistic, villianous, and psychotic side. I crave more of Matt Reeves' Batman universe...
The parallel between kid Oz saving himself in heartfelt admiration for his mother (subsequently keeping him alive) and Vic doing the same to Oz at the end, but getting himself killed is great writing.
She ruined his idolization of Rex by her almost having him killed as a child by him and he knew it was true wen she said that rex was gonna drive him home..and her last words and actions being the end of only thing he ever had good in his life just broke Oz and by then vic was never gonna be easier to kill if necessary in addition to being someone he loves being used against him now that he finally vanquished his foes and got the support of the prosecutors office is a liability he couldnt afford to risk..if it hadnt been for his mom Sofia would never have gotten as close as she did to killing him..remember he had rallied a whole army to eliminate her and maroni..vic was also clearly smarter and more resourseful than oz expected and therefore would have eventually surpassed him at his current pace!
You didn't understand the show bruh...the whole point is that Oz is evil. He is irredeemable and must be put down. A broken person wouldn't have killed his brothers and his partner and left his mom in that state as punishment when he promised her he would put an end to her misery if that happened. Oz is not broken. He's a monster
Man rest in peace Vic😔 I always got the sense that he partially looked out for Vic (obviously in service of himself) but also because it allowed him to act like he cared about someone, maybe as a bit of guilt mechanism for killing his brothers. But the second that Vic put a label on it, it put him back into the state he was in when he killed his brothers. He didn’t want anybody in the way. Poor Vic never even had the chance to live a good life.
I have faith in James Gunn's DC universe (he's clearly a better director and storyteller than Snyder). But I don't know how he can compete with a Batman and Gotham which Matt Reeves' already established with flying colors. Only catch is Gunn will introduce the Bat family which is my lifelong dream
@@Scarranalso when he ripped his way out of the duct tape in the club scene. I knew right there that somebody is gonna get fucked up by these hands. Didn’t know it would be Vic 😢
The other thing about keeping his mom in the penthouse is she made him promise that if she was ever like that that he would pull the plug. He doesn't care about what she wants and he never did, the penthouse with a view of the city was his dream, he's the one who said it at the club not her.
Also how The Riddler referred to it “I’ll see you in Hell” riddle. Also Sofia said I’ll save you a seat, could be some foreshadowing that that’s where Oz will eventually end up
@ Nahh Arkham would be so much sweeter, he gets to watch everything he built Crumble. Especially since we’re dealing with a Batman that doesn’t Kill he could be out first time actually seeing a Live Action Batman racking up his Rogues and putting them away in Arkham since we’ve never really had a good Show Case of Arkham before
I love how when Eve said “You won” to Penguin and *BAM* the signal went up. It’s like Batman said “Ok. You have my attention. I’m coming for you.” And man a mini series with Selena & Sofia together with maybe Sofia trying to clear her name as The Hangman and make atonement for the bomb in Crown Point or somehow frame Oz as the one who did it and she has to make an atonement a different way. Who knows? The possibilities are endless
Nobody cares about a show about Sofia. Like what's it even gonna cover? She's not even a major character that's worth a show for. Also, no need to have a show for Catwoman since she will be in the Batman movies as a love interest.
@ correction YOU don’t care. Plenty of people have been cheering for this Sofia to get some form of get back even when believing she would either be offed or sent back to Arkham. She knows she has a sister now. And from her smile I think Selena is coming to get her outta there.
25:02 Sorry to step on your toes Coy but those aren’t the Pillars that got tagged, the pillars that got Graffitied was the Bank. The building Penguin went to was City Hall, which was the same building in The Batman where they held the public memorial for Mayor Mitchell and where the D.A lost his head. Those dark patches are probably from the flooding. But I appreciate the callback
29:48 He's saying here She's going to Arkham. It's foreshadowing back in The Batman when Bruce reads the card that says "See you in Hell" and then when he visits Edward in Arkham he says I told ya i'd see you in Hell. Arkham is Hell to Sophia and Oswald knows it.
I kind of had a feeling Sofia wasn’t going to really live through the series, and I’m kinda split on her ending up back at Arkham. But knowing that the writers and producers HAD to know how beloved the actress and character had become gives me some hope for her return, in small or large.
This episode and episode 7 made me completely hate Oz. Crazy how he really made us believe he wasn’t all that bad. Fantastic villain and a flawless show.
And he's basically torturing his mom by letting her alive in that state, when he promised her he would kill her if that her mind leaves before her body
As soon as Oz said that Vic was the only one to see him at his lowest, and all the stuff with his mum, I knew he was a goner. Someone like Penguin can't have weaknesses around, sure. But they also can't let you see them in a moment of weakness (Oz pleading with his mums vegetative body to tell her he loved him and is proud of him).

Or will Selena get her outta there and with Batman send Oz to Arkham. Penguin will have no peace. He is on Batman’s radar now and Batman will disrupt his business
i hope oz gets what's coming to him - but being oz, i want him to be laughing maniacally when he goes out
I think the moment Vic gave that inspirational speech to Oz he knew he might possibly one day be a threat.
That Bat Signal really hit
With the way Gotham is getting snow and how Oz is adorned and living big, I felt the Elfman score strike up in my heart
Cus you know Oz’s empire and himself is going to be absolutely dismantled, the next films are going to be satisfying, great show man.
Kick his ass Bruce!
I called it during episode 3 or 4. Actually I knew after the very first episode they would wait to either show the silhouette of Batman or his patented skylight at the end of this final episode before the end's rolling credits play. Sets things up nicely.

Yeah I had the same reaction 😂. I was like “he should've not said that”
@@MrFredstt I don't know if he decided right then, but I think he definitely decided in *this* episode because of everything that happened with his mother.

@thedarkknight2221 this show has the worst writing they took out a fan favorite in Vic and kept Sofia around
It also lets the trope of throwing the rogues in Arkham dramatize with weight; it really is a horrible fate for Sofia
@malikwilson7387 it's actually brilliant writing. The reason why you feel the way you do is evidence of that.
@@thedarkknight2221 and since this an Elseworlds Selena could in the end with help from Batman/ Bruce Wayne and maybe Gordon they get Sofia released. bro that bench scene had me on edge at the end, i thought it was going to be heartfelt but deep down i felt that oz wouldn't want to share the power.
It wasn’t even about Oz sharing the power. It was about Oz’s family being exploited. That was his weakness, now he has no weaknesses.

In the end, it shows that Oz may have had some humanizing moments throughout the show. But was and always will be the villain of the story and one of Batman's greatest enemies.
I like how they made The Penguin an actual villian. Just when u start siding with him, he does some shit like "yup, he's not a good dude."
I just saw the finale and it really fucking heartbreaking what happens to the people Oz cares about!
Not so much of the people Oz cares about; he uses people, but in turn, bad things happen to the people who care about Oz because Oz doesn't care about anybody but himself, and I think this episode proves that he's a pathological liar so you can't even trust what he says anymore at this point on
Oz doesn't care about anyone but himself. Even his mother, he wanted her all to himself and that is why he ended his brother's.
That really just happened… and to think for a lot of people that was not a shocking thing to happen. At the end of the day, he is still a villain. What a show!👏
I was not shocked, but sad and giddy at the same time. Such a good show.
I’m glad they left me a sour taste in my mouth towards Oz, gonna be all the more satisfying when Batman takes him down

I like how everyone in Twitter is posting the clip of Arkham Origin Batman hurting Penguin after Penguin season 1 had ended since we all know what is going to happen with him in the upcoming Batman Movie.
Best example on how to make a show about a villain
This is the best the penguin character has ever been done in my opinion, they didn’t make him some kind of freak, they did him perfectly. It’s amazing. Not only that but they made him a mobster like he’s always been meant to be, like how he was in Arkham city and Arkham origins. They did him perfect.
Yes it finally happened with Selina Kyle reaching out to her half-sister Sofia Gigante/Falcone.
We have no word on if both Selena & Sofia are in The Batman 2. Maybe a surprise. Cause only Batman (obviously), Gordon, & Penguin are in it.
Sofia probably got the happiest ending of the three people that got screwed over. Arkham probably isn't as bad without Carmine around, especially since the male inmates (Joker, Riddler) should be kept separate from her, and she just connected with a family member who actually cares about her.
@@TheAzulmagia Agreed.
@@TheAzulmagia But that is bold of Selena. Sofia grew up privileged and Selena like a lot can’t stand that type. But maybe cause of what happened to Sofia she’s hitting her up. That smile. Yup, saw that too
The fact that his mom made him promise to kill her if she ever went into a vegetative state and instead Oz keeps her bed ridden, trapped in her own body is a form of punishment for what she said before. In the end, he even turned on his mom.

26:11 The song is a cover of Leadbelly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" The famous cover was done by Nirvana in their MTV Unplugged album, so yes, it's perfect for The Penguin.
Vic's death is a most tragic betrayal and murder. Oz is a monster. Colin made him a magnetic force of evil.
@@bigjoeofthe707 which is why I don't think she'll be in the movie. It serves no purpose. Penguin himself isn't even the main villain in the sequel
@ Carmine Falcone wasn’t the main villain in The Batman but he was a main part. No need for a 2nd show cause fans now want Penguin to get his. The way they cut it and spanding to the bat signal

Bro when he killed Vic🤦🏽♂️ I already knew he was cooked when oz said “fuck😑” and the music started playing I said “fuck😳”
Oz condemning his mom to exist as a vegetable rather than keeping his promise to kill her if her condition worsens is the ultimate betrayal
This entire series should be what most Batman villains origins should be. Broken monsters, not evil people.
Did you miss the point of the show? Penguin is not broken he’s evil, a monster who even his mother couldn’t love.
The finale was amazing can't wait for the batman part 2

You guys called Victors death from his first episode. I will say that a real life Oswald could not take out that young buck so easily.
Idk big men like Oz can be surprisingly strong
You see Oz Hobblepot out of a gun fight carrying an adult woman on one shoulder? Victor had no shot.
Until Batman brings up his death I can’t accept it
@@Scarranalso when he ripped his way out of the duct tape in the club scene. I knew right there that somebody is gonna get fucked up by these hands. Didn’t know it would be Vic 😢
This shows a perfect representation of how so many batman's villains who aren't superhuman are criminally insane and what makes them so dangerous hs.
The other thing about keeping his mom in the penthouse is she made him promise that if she was ever like that that he would pull the plug. He doesn't care about what she wants and he never did, the penthouse with a view of the city was his dream, he's the one who said it at the club not her.
Nope, she did say it in episode 7.
One of the best shows of the year . Loved watching the show with you guys
Somebody give the actress who plays the mom and Emmy, she absolutely killed it in the role
When penguin told sophia, "You're going to Hell." He was referring to Arkham
Also how The Riddler referred to it “I’ll see you in Hell” riddle.
Also Sofia said I’ll save you a seat, could be some foreshadowing that that’s where Oz will eventually end up
@@brandonthomas8839 Nahh, i see Oz dying in The batman 2. Want to see a similar fate like in batman returns.
@ Nahh Arkham would be so much sweeter, he gets to watch everything he built Crumble. Especially since we’re dealing with a Batman that doesn’t Kill he could be out first time actually seeing a Live Action Batman racking up his Rogues and putting them away in Arkham since we’ve never really had a good Show Case of Arkham before
This finale was so great and crazy! 👍
@@bigjoeofthe707 Yes people care about the CHARACTER. But enough for a show. She will likely appear in The Batman Part Two.
Hey Vic? “I’m proud of ya, kid.”
Oz killed his brothers, Vic, and turns out his mother never actually loved him.. dark is an understatement
