Have the walker cross OVER the line, placing the outside of the left foot against the right side of the line, then the outside of the right foot against the left side of the line, etc. This accentuates the hip/spine rotation and enables the walker to get the feel of powering the walk stride through the hips--mike
That's a great drill. We do that in practice. However, the reason for this video is to help beginners understand that having your feet land on a line is not a requirement in racewalking. I've received many questions about this and hope my video clears up the confusion. Thanks for your comment.
I am Pakistani student studying at yanan medical university of china , I participate 10km walk race in university sport ceremony which will held on 28 April😂, any suggestions for me
Did you watch the full video or just the preview? A racewalk coach can give you a full explanation of why you want to learn hip rotation so that your feet land in a straight line. I you are aiming to walk 4-minute kilometer pace, your coach will be looking at every way to eliminate wasted motion, and this one is a biggie. Good luck.
Great coaching tip...thank you!
Happy to help. More to come!

That's terrific! What type of suggestions are you looking for? Do you work with a coach?
How they are able to walk 1km/4min by this 🙄
This is just a drill to teach you to rotate your hips. If you want to do a speed session, I'd recommend this as part of your warm up.
