Yah it has a retro vibe going. Looks like its fairly tough, but can find items that are useful. I didnt catch how many region/landscape cards there were total to judge if it had a lot of explorability that would make it more interesting for longer games or for more replay.
Oh no, is that right? When the publisher sent it I just assumed you could buy it :( I do not know, but I'll ask the publisher today (I'm emailing to let them know the video posted).
I emailed the publisher, and he said that they are doing another Kickstarter, but it's being delayed because of the pandemic. He DID say that Drivethrurpg will have full files for PNP pretty soon, just $12 for everything, which seems like a good deal for those who don't mind putting prototypes together :)
@@cartergiii971 Why in the world they dumped the original and now started a new game I have no idea, been looking for dark venture for ages and cannot be found. If they offered a pledge with an original game included I would have supported it. Will find one, one day I guess.
@@IIIIRokzIIII Just want to say that the new game Battle of the Ancients is a ton of fun so maybe check it out, and also to be patient waiting for a restock because the developer is one person and even a restock is an immense amount of work, especially if they factor in remastering the game to improve it :)
Thanks for the playthrough, got this game but only played it two times. I feel that you have to set up a lot of stuff that finally won't use, because you have no quest related to that content. Will have to give it another try.
That's a really valid point that almost made my review list. A lot of actions in the game won't net you any reward. Like sure, a cool monster pops out, but why should I fight it? The quests are cool but can also be limiting.
Dice festival!!
That’s fairly accurate :)
Quite an interesting game. The art reminds me of those late 80s comics.
Definitely! This one is all about nostalgia gaming :)

It's probably like 30 locations, but double that because of the two exploration books (I discuss this in my review that just published).
10:03 The Grathorn kinda looks like a Omega Metroid.
Where is our Metroid IP board game, dang it!?!
It definitely seems to be on the sandbox end of the spectrum moreso than narrative.
For sure. I'd call it emergent narrative, but I know that can mean different things to different people :)
I like it! Do you know if it will be reprinted? I only saw it on eBay for way too much.

There's a new game called Dark Venture Battle of the Ancients coming soon, you can still preorder it. DV made a reddit today reddit.com/r/darkventure

Good video

The art reminds me of a gentler dungeon degenerates. Less aggressive color scheme.
I might be crazy...
Ha, I can see that!
Looks fun but another game like fallout that seems to end too abruptly
That might make it into my review tomorrow :)
