You are such a sweetheart! Cooking for the moms for their day. I love how natural you are and so relatable. Love the honesty of your gardening style. I feel better when I watch your show.
I absolutely love this format!!! It's real gardening. Your thoughts are what runs through my head while strolling my garden. I also stop to listen for the birds.
Everything is looking lush. YES, please get that metal edging video up asap! I am planning to redo 2 areas and create another but have been thinking about using a metal edge, I must know the best one to purchase!
I’m not sure what I’m using is it, but km not sure there’s much better available. I do not recommend the kind with the stakes integrated into the edging though.
I don’t comment very often, but I just have to tell you how much I am just loving your garden strolls. They’re so informative and I get so excited and write such long lists of what I’ve got to get in my garden this summer! Thank you for all you do,you are one of my best Gardening friends😊
Love how excited you are when you see blooms taking off like your apple espalier 💕 I can relate..lol..so excited when you see something blooming and putting on new growth. Doesn’t get any better than this does it Erin? I love the quote I saw on Facebook one day “You know it is spring when dirt falls out of your bra at the end of the day!”
Yep the same brunnera turned all green at my house too. Oh so that's what my new EVERYWHERE weed is, solidago! No wonder in early spring I wondered if they were asters, same family. AND I seem to have 2 types of this. One is smooth on the stems and in my back yard and the other, much more prevalent one is rougher on the stems. They don't pull well in our clay soils and digging them has been the bane of my spring.
Oh, Erin, I laughed when you turned the camera around so as to not show all the tasks in the garden that still need doing. That is so much like my garden at this time of year. The time to work on it is so fleeting. Or, at least it feels that way. Thank you for not being right on top of everything. It makes me feel better about my long list of "still to do".
I am loving these weekly strolls! Thank you for taking the time to do them. I stroll thru my garden daily. I tend to do it first thing in the morning. I wonder what my neighbors think of me constantly staring at the dirt.
Love the casual garden tour again. Unedited. I laughed at the comment about the guys "frankly will make a brat"! 😂 So sweet of you to take the task on. You are a flower and fur baby mom, so happy mother's day to you too all the way from Texas,
So Erin, do tell, where does one buy "patience pants". I'm 78 and need some quickly because my patience has never developed. Time is running out, ya know? Love, love, love the woodsy areas along the creekside. And I'm also loving these folksy garden wanders. Its like being with your best gardening friend and sharing the wows and the woes of your gardening life. Thanks!
You always absolutely crack me up! “Patience pants”, I am so using that!! 🤣🤣 And can I say holy s#*! on that climbing hydrangea?!! WOW! I can not wait to see that beauty bloom!!! Thank you so much for making the time to share your fabulous garden 😊
I’ve been leaving my dahlias in the ground for the past three years since Jennie Love said that’s what she does (I’m an hour northwest of Philadelphia). All have come back consistently with no extra mulch or protection. Love seeing your beautiful property!
I love this! I’m so glad you are sharing these weekly videos. Your garden is absolutely beautiful. I feel you on having a lot to get done. I had about five meltdowns this weekend trying to get all my plants planted, weeding, mowing, and everything else that needs done. I got mostly everything planted, but got home today from work to a shipment of plants sitting in my front driveway 😂. So thoughtful of you to cook for Mother’s Day. This is my second Mother’s Day without my mom. Definitely missing her!
I pulled my dahlias out of Winter storage yesterday and planted them all out in the gardens today. I probed the soil 72°f Only 1 didnt make it , it was weak going into storage so no surprise there. Wisconsin Zone 5b. Love these garden "walk n talks" Erin.
The weather is weird here too. This morning it was 9 C - feels like 2 C. (yes, that is Canadian, I live in Southern B.C.) Sorry I don't know the F conversion. It was way warmer back in March! I have so much to pot up for my patio, I just can't wait any longer. Your garden is so lovely Eryn, so serene!
Thanks for the garden walk! Our night temps in RI are staying cool too. Trying to be grateful for the things that are lasting longer because of it. Very excited to find salvia argentia, primula and thalictrum this weekend at a native nursery near me. Always inspired by your garden!
I agree on the metal edging. About 17 years ago, I had a landscaper install it when I had him put in a gravel path and patio. Today, the choices are far better. I'm looking to order Edge Right CorTen edging for other areas. I like that theirs comes in 6" and 8" depths. Maybe that'll keep neighbors' invasive maple tree roots at bay. I'm getting a shallow stock tank because of it and have spray paint to mimic CorTen steel. However, I just learned galvanized metal doesn't take to painting. Vinegar to the rescue. I thought of you, Erin, as I was cleaning up my perennial strip garden in the back yard. The clematis looks so much happier with some trimming, stem rerouting and fertilizer. But the awfully invasive wild campanula (creeping bellflower)... I couldn't determine which was monarda vs the weed. So I'm pulling everything out to start over! I've got more monarda nearby that I can relocate to that spot. I watched my fairly new neighbors dig up a robust rhubarb plant and toss it into their yard waste bin! 😱 At least put it on the curb for someone to take. Clean up in the garden is still taking me a long time to accomplish...and I'm retired. I moved a coralberry shrub to a sunnier spot and was amazed at its growth since I checked on it a week ago. This past week really supported my Minneapolis garden. But I injured myself cutting back invasive plants a former coworker shared many years ago. Note: don't accept "free" plants from friends. I cut my finger with my very sharp Felco no. 2s. I may have to start wearing garden gloves. Owie! 🩸🩸🩸 I probably should have gone to Urgent Care for stitches.
So I'm loving your angst...I feel the same! I'm working on a few projects right now readying my garden for a tour next month. I swear you are hilarious. I love your candidness. I'm from Chicago originally but moved from zone 5 to 6b in Holland Mi. I was telling my late husband before we bought our house here in Holland that I needed a larger Garden because my city garden was never going to be big enough for me. Even though I am now on 1/3 of an acre it's okay because I can plant til my arms fall off. My goal is to eliminate the grass as much as possible. Lol. If I'm traveling through Wisconsin which I am a few times a year may I come say hello? It's Mother's Day and you're not a mom but you're not missing anything (my opinion). Haha!
Hi Erin! Thanx for another casual stroll around your garden. Such a privilege to “walk by your side” and enjoy spring in your lively woodland garden ❤ It’s so nice of you to organize this Mother’s Day dinner, how special. Ps. The way you shared that news about PW deal at the store 😅 So cute! 😂 Thanx for being YOU ❤ Happy gardening 👩🌾
Watched this wonderful tour this morning while I was sitting in my swing in my garden. What a beautiful way to start my Mother’s Day. Thank you Erin for your garden, it really is so wonderful. Thank you again for your knowledge and enthusiasm.
I love these garden walk abouts. It is how I walk my own garden with a friend. You talk about the good, the bad and aspirations for the garden. So informative!
Love the garden strolls ❤ I think these are your BEST videos . We are in the same temperatures as you , same zone , but all my stuff is looking healthy 😊 Happy Mothers Day ! Dog moms included
Think your dahlias are coming back because being close to your house which is heated and in full sun, they are in a much warmer location than the rest of your garden. Was thinking that violas in your bulb garden could extend the life of it. Like that you answer questions l’m asking myself during these walks. Keep these tours coming! Love them.
Love these weekly walk abouts. You have such a beautiful large garden don’t worry about what’s not cleaned up yet! We all have those spaces! I’m in PA and we’re having similar weather, kinda frustrating but it is what it is.
When Spring begins, she moves fast. Our temps have been all over the place as well in 6a. The birds were flying back and forth across the yard when your video first started, and then continued their bird songs - so magical. Everything looks wonderful in your gardens, full and lush and it's just the beginning of their growth cycles. Enjoy your day as well and thanks for the stroll.
My Hellabor's Bloom for months. Your home and garden are beautiful and I wish I had a plot of land like that. I think you should some more smaller evergreens.
Everything is so lush! I got a Shredded Umbrella plant last year from Northwind and it came back and looks great. I wanted to give one a try and see how it did. I'll be going back for some more.
I am so enjoying your weekly garden tours. Nice to see what the garden is doing week to week. I enjoy the diversity of your garden and like to learn about plants I don't know about.
Totally agree with the warm enough for things to happen but cool where things have dragged on much longer than they typically do. Like all my bulbs it was like the earliest they have bloomed yet they lasted for like double. It’s been the same with everything like it’s early but it’s lasted way longer
Love these weekly strolls! Will the greenhouse treatment make the Dahlias stronger and more self supporting? I’d love to hear any comments on that as the season goes. You’ve got me thinking in new directions… bulb lawn … clematis… my eyes tend to be bigger than my garden 😂
Totally agree about good metal edging. I have invested in Edge Right for a shade bed. It was a big PIA to install (despite what their videos say!) but I haven’t looked back. It is starting to really get rusty, it doesn’t move, it keeps 99.9% of grass and other weeds. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!
I'm trying so hard to watch and learn from you!! Specifically, I'm interested in the more wildly, random planted areas under your larger trees. I have edged and mulched "landscaped" beds around my house, but I'm trying to develop the wooded area at the edge of my property. It's not a large space. I'll be removing some lawn and planting evergreens and moist shade-loving plants there, but have no idea what I'm doing. I want it to be a wildlife friendly area with food sources. I wish I could visualize this better and come up with a plan. Maybe that's my problem.....thinking I need a plan. LOL!
I think alchemilla (lady's mantle) is a beautiful and multi purpose plant. Mine spread like crazy and I edged a bed with them just as you did. Sadly, my Purple Sensation alliums have never reseeded.
RE: lingering cool night temps. I'm in coastal Maine and am so tired of my tulips. They were giant and bold, but it's like suspended animation. They refuse to die down; and I need their space!
So nice to see the changes weekly! I’d really love to hear about your metal edging- what kind you use and how you handle the installation, etc. I’d love to put some in my garden, but am curious how I could manage that on a curve or where the ground is sloped.
I love spending time with you in your garden! And goodness thank you for pronouncing Clematis properly! For nay sayers check Fine Gardening’s pronunciation guide.
Morning Erin, your videos have always been great and now you have added to your greatest. Love your casual walks through your garden. Temperatures are all over the place as well, but that being said our spring blooms are hanging on longer which is fantastic. Thanks for your morning stroll. 👍❤️🙂
If you don't want the Virginia bluebells, I'd be happy to take them off your hands to put them in my Milwaukee garden. Love all you do, but the strolls are special somehow, like hanging out talking flowers with a friend. Thank you!
Our weather has been all over the place here in 7a (previously 6b) NJ. I guess the plants are figuring it out, just like the humans are. Love the weekly tours, keep them coming.
I was worried that my allium foliage was looking dry and brown. I thought maybe they needed water or had gotten frost damage. I’m glad you don’t seem worried about yours so i guess I won’t worry either. Thanks for the info!
You are a breath of fresh air. And informative to boot! Thank you, Erin!
You are such a sweetheart! Cooking for the moms for their day. I love how natural you are and so relatable. Love the honesty of your gardening style. I feel better when I watch your show.
Erin,
Love that you're making these casual garden strolls a weekly event! Thank you. 😊
I absolutely love this format!!! It's real gardening. Your thoughts are what runs through my head while strolling my garden. I also stop to listen for the birds.
Erin, this old lady gardener loves your delight at each discovery in the Spring garden....
Everything is looking lush. YES, please get that metal edging video up asap! I am planning to redo 2 areas and create another but have been thinking about using a metal edge, I must know the best one to purchase!

I don’t comment very often, but I just have to tell you how much I am just loving your garden strolls. They’re so informative and I get so excited and write such long lists of what I’ve got to get in my garden this summer! Thank you for all you do,you are one of my best Gardening friends😊
Laura on GardenAnswer just gave you a sweet shout-out on her Q/A Highlights channel to a listener's question today at about 39:00. 😀
Love your casual garden strolls. Perfect.
You should do a video while you put in the metal edging 😃😂. I would get a kick out of that!
And don’t edit out the swearing! ❤
I have been filming bits of it. Fortunately my temper tantrum was not recorded. 🤣
Oooooh, I love the "fence" you are creating in the vegetable garden! I can't wait to see it with even more blooms!
"Like all my roses, it's unhappy." I love your sense of humor. Thank you for these videos.
Erin, I love these one-take walk through videos you’ve been doing. It serves as a reminder to seek out the pretty in the process. 😊 Thank you!!!!
Erin, I love these laid-back garden strolls they are a blessing!
Enjoy this casual tours! I walk around my garden and make the same kind of mental notes as to what needs doing. Love, love the espalier trees!
Love these casual trolls! Desdemona is my favourite ligularia! It will be beautifulful there 🤩
Exhilarating garden tour! Thank you. Happy Animal Mother's day. 🐕 🐶 🐈 😻
Yep the same brunnera turned all green at my house too.

These garden strolls are great. You are informative, interesting and entertaining. Thank you!

Love that you are cooking for the moms 😉 TFS 🤩
Love the casual garden tour again. Unedited. I laughed at the comment about the guys "frankly will make a brat"! 😂 So sweet of you to take the task on. You are a flower and fur baby mom, so happy mother's day to you too all the way from Texas,
Hope you got as much done on Mother's Day as you wanted to. I keep my to do list short. If I get additional things done; it's a win! Yay! 😃
Your square planter is so beautiful!! I love your walk about videos! The garden is looking lovely! Thank you!💚
Love the casual garden strolls and hearing you speak so spontaneously about the plants. It's fun and interesting.
Thanks Erin. 💐💚🙃
Love this video. I always enjoy walk around style videos because they capture your joy - like when you saw the Belgian fence ❤
Thanks!
I LOVED the physaria, the double bladderwort leaves! Too bad they are ephemeral. So cute!!

Your garden makes me just sigh. So pretty...plants and birds.
How did I NOT know that Brunnera converted. Now I know what I am seeing in my garden, It makes sense of course! I should have known.
Thank you!
Love these garden walks ..watching how the garden changes .😊❤
I think the bulb mound looks charming now, too. Sort of a mini meadow. 😊
I pulled my dahlias out of Winter storage yesterday and planted them all out in the gardens today.
I probed the soil 72°f
Only 1 didnt make it , it was weak going into storage so no surprise there.
Wisconsin Zone 5b.
Love these garden "walk n talks" Erin.
Thanks Erin!
look forward to seeing the banana tree coming out.
Leave it up to the guys just a brat omg that was funny ❤❤❤cat wait to see the dahlias
Such a refreshing morning garden walk! Thanks Erin- Happy Mother's Day!!
Astounding development, in just one week.

Loving these walks through your garden, can you show us your metal edging project?

Love seeing you every week. Thanks for sharing.
Loving the peeks into the garden Erin.
Erin, love these walk abouts! Can I adopt you? My adult children haven't figured out that Mom shouldn't have to cook on Mother's Day! 😅
Hi Erin! Thanx for another casual stroll around your garden. I love the unedited videos!!
I love these garden walk abouts. It is how I walk my own garden with a friend. You talk about the good, the bad and aspirations for the garden. So informative!
Wonderful walking tour! Thank you for doing these, it's like a walk through the garden with a dear friend!
Love the garden strolls ❤ I think these are your BEST videos . We are in the same temperatures as you , same zone , but all my stuff is looking healthy 😊 Happy Mothers Day ! Dog moms included

Gotta say bravo Erin. These casual walk abouts are awesome. Thank you so much.
Really enjoy watching your videos. Your personality is priceless. In my opinion you are a wonderful Fur Baby Mom. ☺️ Have a wonderful day.

I enjoy your strolls so much, and that combo by the bench is amazing! Hope you have/had a wonderful day with family.
I am so enjoying your weekly garden tours. Nice to see what the garden is doing week to week. I enjoy the diversity of your garden and like to learn about plants I don't know about.
Dorothy knows you’re her mom! Garden looks fab.
I'm loving your garden strolls, Erin! Thank you 😊
That bird in the background is having a blast!
Holy moly! You had a busy day! Love love love getting see your gardens and getting to hang out with you! Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for giving us an update when you can. Love seeing what's going on in the garden!
I have so many purple sensation alliums. I plan on taking some out too like you.
Morning Erin, your videos have always been great and now you have added to your greatest. Love your casual walks through your garden. Temperatures are all over the place as well, but that being said our spring blooms are hanging on longer which is fantastic. Thanks for your morning stroll. 👍❤️🙂
Zone 9 Northern Calif here and my Jack Frost has also reverted. Took it a few years though .
Tell people to turn on Closed Caption, hey will get the name of the plants as you say them !!
5 dollars a piece! GREAT deal!
If you don't want the Virginia bluebells, I'd be happy to take them off your hands to put them in my Milwaukee garden. Love all you do, but the strolls are special somehow, like hanging out talking flowers with a friend. Thank you!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your videos!
Hey! I just heard Laura mentioned you in her recap video! At about 39:30.
Loving the walkabouts!!!❤
Our weather has been all over the place here in 7a (previously 6b) NJ. I guess the plants are figuring it out, just like the humans are. Love the weekly tours, keep them coming.
Erin, is that a stinking hellebore @31:06? We just got 4 from Pine Nut and can't wait for them to mature and get as big as yours.
I was worried that my allium foliage was looking dry and brown. I thought maybe they needed water or had gotten frost damage. I’m glad you don’t seem worried about yours so i guess I won’t worry either. Thanks for the info!
