Fun Fact of Japanese Costco : If you purchase what they consider off the shelf medications there you pay for it at the pharmacy section. You don't bring it to the regular checkout. I learned that the hard way. They basically wrap it up like they do tax-fee items then you go to the regular checkout for your other stuff. Also they don't really have the sort of 500 tablets of Tylenol kind of thing. They really at best will give you 2 normal sized medication packages at a slightly reduced price. I assume this is due to how drugs are regulated in Japan even for what they consider over the counter stuff. Its basically a mix of 50% Kirkland stuff and 50% local Japanese stuff. But the entire place is functionally indistinguishable from a Costco in the USA , the entire layout, labels, etc all have the 'Costco feel' to it, which obviously makes sense. If you're in Japan for fun its not really worth going there unless you happen to be in maybe Hiroshima as the Costco is a quick 10 minute bus trip from the Hiroshima train station. But otherwise most Costco's in Japan are either only accessable by car or are extremely far way from the city centers.
Costco stores are designed in a horsehoe layout. The most expensive tech items are in the front on the way to the big rotisserie with the chickens, then the less expensive food, apparell, and miscellaneous items are on the way to the food court that look like a bargain by comparison. Free sample stations specifically hand out new shipments, encouraging shoppers to buy those and constantly keep sales up and new items coming in. They can afford to hand out these samples and have these relatively low prices because the required memberships means they make a profit no matter what.

The trick is to go with a couple of friends, and then you split everything up between yourselves and they give you some money for said items. That way, everyone gets some, and you all save money in the long run.
When she said she went into Costco to just buy one specific item, I was wondering if they didn't charge for membership in Japan, but she says she paid for the annual membership. Damn, she really is a princess
Cosco straightup their own warehouse, lol.
Luna being real relatable here, though in the cutest pure way.
I have and still am a bit scared those towering metal structures holding all the wooden pallets will fall over one day.
I want to see her reaction when she lears you don't need a card to get in the food court
Luna Costco Collab. Yagoo truly a visionary
6:50 😂 i wonder how many people signed up for a costco membership because of Luna. Hell im considering it 😂
The trick is to go with a couple of friends, and then you split everything up between yourselves and they give you some money for said items. That way, everyone gets some, and you all save money in the long run.
Went to a church in Japan a few times where one of Costco's head executive owners was a member. Guy went all over the world.
When she said she went into Costco to just buy one specific item, I was wondering if they didn't charge for membership in Japan, but she says she paid for the annual membership. Maybe Japanese Costco charges less for membership than American Costco does, but I can't see paying $60 just to buy one thing and visit the food court. That'd be like paying for entry to a mall. I guess the Princess of the Candy Kingdom values Tirol Chocolate that much.
I'm glad she had fun, though. The way she describes her experience, it sounds more like she was paying the entry fee for an amusement park rather than she was paying membership fee to a retail store.
Costco annual membership in Japan is like 15-20% cheaper than the cost of membership in the US I think? At least for Japanese nationals it is. I could be wrong, that’s what I remember from like two years back looking up membership prices around the world.
I wonder how much Costco membership in South Sudan would cost?
I went to a Costco recently, and I was making people laugh at my Idiocracy jokes. I love you.
Costco always feels like another dimension, even compared to other bulk stores. Its kinda wild.
Me who eats the entire chicken in one meal… 😂😂😂 I love Costco’s hotdog combo
It’s cute how she thinks the American medium is XL and that people would struggle to drink it all for refills 😂😂😂😂
Pro tip: just get a gift card for gas and use it to allow entry into Costco if you just wanna go to their food court
Best part of Costco aside from the great seasonal stuff that rotates in, is the free samples
ok now costco only need to do an collab with the princess
Wait until she finds out they have gaming and streaming equipment.
Costco is a business reminder that i am single.
Calli: It's rude to call Kiara a costco chicken, Luna.
Japanese vtuber discovers the horrors of America portion sizes in an America mega-grocery chain.
