Old guitars are always the coolest. Not just the craftsmanship, but the history behind it, where it’s been, who’s played it, etc. I’m always fascinated by that. Of course all of that adds value to it as well. If I were a collector I think I’d just keep the oldest ones I could find. Haha. Really loved this one!
It is fascinating isn't it!!? I've never played a guitar this old before. It really did feel 'broken in". It's really hard to explain.
how is this 5 hours old when the video is 13 minutes old??????????
@@breakthephysics Idk
@@breakthephysics cause the commenter is probably a patron or something so gets early access before the video is made public
@@SteveTerreberry DAMN KIDS AND THEIR METAL!!!!!!!
That is a beautiful guitar and yes it is older than us. 10 years to be exact. LOL. Looks like you and John had a lot of fun doing this video. It was fun to watch. 🎶
I regretted saying it was older than you. Because it was quite a bit older than you. Closer to Grandma's age technically!! Haha! 🤣

The Riversong guitar at 7:37 sounded beautiful and the last guitar was beautiful as well. With that 70+ year old guitar being $50,000 CAD, I’m genuinely curious what an original lute from the renaissance era would be worth now if any still existed. That would be an incredible find!
The store employee playing with him on the guitar is wholesome💀🤣🙏 3:07
Handmade D’Angelico?! As a jazz guitarist myself, that’s a dream. And honestly hearing you sweep pick and play “jazz fusion” was so cool to hear. As for it being a grandpa guitar, you just gave it one more story for it to tell in its long life. Keep it up Steve, this made my day!
One more story? More like a bad memory of being touched in a care facility!
To me they’re all stories. One more it has to tell!
hey you know south park can say fûck all the time

I’m going to name that guitar Ol’ Grampa Jazz. It’s snazzy. Anyways, Steve you never fail to astonish me how fast you play, like your fingers move so fast on the fretboard. As a beginner I find it so fundamentally difficult to press the strings properly and play quickly so notes sound right and so that I don’t accidentally pick a string I don’t want 😂 I wish I could see how you gradually progressed between beginner to your first vid, cuz by your first vid you were already phenomenal! And that way, I would be able to understand the process behind how you got so good. I need a better practice routine anyway. I know some of your earlier vids are tutorials and you make a lot of good points, so really you’re a great teacher. And I know that you said tutorial vids don’t work out for your channel anymore, but.. care to do a masterclass maybe? 😅
Ol' Grandpa Jazz!! Done. I like it!! Acoustic is especially hard to press down on the strings. So, if you're learning on an acoustic, you will find it quite easy switching to electric!!
Not gonna lie... I've been considering doing a masterclass. It's been a long time since I've done anything instructional... 🤔
Hi Stevie!
I try to focus on woody woodpecker when I play. I always thought good guitar licks remind me of woody woodpeckers ha haha haha. Start with playing 5 notes at a time. The woody woodpecker method.
@@SteveTerreberry you definitely should. I remember you did a tutorial on sweep picking and it was excellent. Would love to see more of that side of you
Maybe on a second channel ? - that’s what all the cool RUclipsrs are doing these days 😂
@@SteveTerreberry that'd be sick bro!!

10:51 Steve tries to play Rondo alla Turca, but fails miserably because the guitar has not enough frets . I feel bad for Stevie.
Respect to Stevie as a musician. He was completely fooling around, being his real self. Until he started playing the final vintage one, you could see it in his face.

Did you know, my grandfather on my dad’s side gave me his guitar FOR FREE😮!!-Connor Hernandez
Im really digging the black metal bit on that 50’s jazzguitar. Ive Got a half-acustic one that gets subjected to much of the same. 😂
I feel like I MAY be the first person to black metal on a 50s jazz acoustic... Though I can't confirm.🤣
10:20 almost Rick rolled me
Sounded more like smooth by Santana.
8:39 had me dead😂
Hello how are you
Steve, you’re one of the only RUclips legends who started WAAAY back, and are still going strong with fans still at your feet. Keep shreddin’ Djent Djgod!
When I was little my mom called me "butter hands" 🤣🤣 So you can imagine that I wouldn't even dare to touch that $50K guitar..
I'm pretty clumsy too Noe!! Haha! I was nervous to even look at it!!! 🤣
3:38 Holy Crap, OK man!! I'll watch the ad this time, chill.
The most expensive guitar I’ve played was about $3,000 but damn I didn’t expect that much!
$3,000 will definitely get you something pro!! This one is so expensive only because it's vintage and rare. Doesn't even necessarily sound as good as a $3,000 guitar!!
@@SteveTerreberry haha….that’s the lowest end model D’Angelico guitar John D’Angelico made. He made about 1100 guitars. The high end ones go for about $50k US. That one would go for about $8-10k US, considering it’s condition. Still, if you know when and how to use it, it will kill those $3000 guitars you’re talking about.
I have the same tiny blue guitar thingy lol
I unironically wanna hear a Neoclassical Jazz Mellow Death Fusion song now...
Ngl, I'm attracted to the pink guitars even though they sound like shnit. 😂 But damn, $50,000?! I would be scared to hold that for sure. 😅 I loved watching you play all these guitars. I genuinely thought you were actually about to play Stairway for a second. Lol!
By the way, I did watch your video last week even though I didn't leave a comment. I have to be honest, some days I feel really depressed to the point where I don't really have the energy to talk to people, but I still enjoyed the video! Well, besides the Lil Pump song.. I have to say, that was the most horrendous song I've ever heard. 😖😅 But seeing your face and hearing you play guitar always cheers me up and I've been looking forward to hearing your shredemption!! 🥰
I always regret not leaving a comment though because talking to you always seems to make everything feel okay again and I don't realize how much of a difference it makes until later in the night or the next day and I'm still feeling sad (because I didn't leave a comment).. 😢 I swear, you are one of the only things bringing any sort of joy and comfort into my life right now, Stevie. 🥲💙
No worries at all Emily!! I know the feeling. Never feel obligated to comment! Just happy that I can be your source of joy right now. You guys do the same for me!! 🥰
"That's some good wood, right here!"
That's what she said... 🥴
I'll show myself out. 😂

I already got a pink guitar for my niece!! It's a Loog guitar. It's the little pink one I've played in a few videos! Felt like it was time to pass it down!! 😁
0:37 The “guitar” on the stand was hilarious😂
Kurt Cobain's Martin D-18E - $6,010,000
The world record for the most expensive guitar is held by Kurt Cobain's Martin D-18E, which was sold at Julien's Auctions in 2020. This guitar was used for Nirvana's MTV Unplugged performance in 1993, a year before Kurt Cobain's death.
Creative video concept, Stevie! Really did feel like you guys were bringing back to life a magical relic of the long-lost past when you opened the vintage guitar case 😂 Genuinely must have taken so must bravery to hold and play, due to it being so expensive and also so rare!!
PS, shout out to the store guy’s hilarious ‘Budget MGK’ cap 😂
Thanks Vicky!! Thought it might be cool to compare the different price points. Rather than just have one expensive guitar!! 😆
this is one of the least creative video concepts on youtube

So was that comfort cut a game changer on the 4200 $ guitar? Wonder why no one else does a cut like that on the body of a chunky acoustic .. great video bud .. damn kids and their metal
It was a game changer for sure!! I mean, if you're playing acoustic properly, you're not gonna be playing that high anyways, but it was nice of them to accommodate my shreddy ways!! 🤣
Hi how are you
5:51 stevie just wrote a SOAD riff

IT'S PRICE.
Price point refers to something WITHOUT A SET PRICE. AKA when you're trying to decide how much to sell a new product for. 🙄
50k um nope . it was a nice looking guitar though . and in the hands of someone who can play im sure it would sound really good . the fact that guitar shop guy has not gave it a good cleaning means that you over rated his shop - 2 stars .
bro almost played the forbidden riff at 5:20
I love the fact Stevie "became" more and more Canadian aa the price of the Guitars increased 😅
Stevie plays that $1 toy better than lot of people on expensive guitars.😂

Facts
I think expensive guitars play beautiful and feel great in the hands. I'm smitten with my Squier telecaster. That jazz guitar is gorgeous. Wow.
I'm smitten as well Cass. I am not worthy of such a classy guitar!! Haha! Although it's not really my style. I prefer my shredzy electric stuff!! 🤣
That is a goddamn beautiful guitar. I love these 50s vintage instruments. Wow! There's this little duo that used to make jazzy / folky comedy songs (The Two Man Gentlemen Band) and one of them had a similar guitar except it was a four-string tenor guitar and it sounded awesome I think the other guy had a vintage double bass from the 30s or 40s if I'm not mistaken! Try a banjo next!
(PS - the Carcass gig I went to last week was amazing, definitely a much needed palate cleanser after Petite Pompe's terrible "metal" song.)
Those vintage guitars are so classy aren't they!!? Just a different breed of guitars altogether. They command respect! And here I am playing metalcore on it!! 🤣
A few sick metal bands are playing Toronto soon. May have to go cleanse my palette as well!! 😁
Whats petite pompe?
I'm proud of you Stevie. You are overcoming your social anxiety and sharing the love with other people out there. Been a sub since before 1M.
I was there when he hit 500k, then memories
Beautiful instruments! I can just imagine ol Django Reinhardt going to town on that old Beautiful guitar! Good stuff! 😆👍🏻😎🥹🫡
50k to play what looks like a very uncomfortable guitar. Body is crazy big, was expecting some explosive deep tones to come from that thing.
Regardless, it would be cool to know who played that guitar and where are the other 4 and who is playing them.
6:38 Stevie “hitting bad notes” as the chord progression gets more and more Japanese lmao.
Fr, that “bad note” would’ve been the KEY of that chord progression.
I love seeing Steve out and about, his lovely character shines through.
I've had an unpleasant situation recently, nothing too serious, just a mild dissapointment in human decency, but it left me feeling quite down. I came back to this channel after a longer break (I confess to that crime), knowing that Steve's videos always make me laugh and lighten my mood. And I was not dissapointed - first video I watched, immediatelly alleviated my sadness. Djentotherapy by Steve turned out to be the best cure for everyday problems again - for which I am immensly grateful.
Thank you, Steve for creating this amazingly hilariuos content. I really appreciate you as a musician, comedian and just a human being :)
Much love from the country of the greatest female guitarist of all time - Sasha Sideboob :D

Not funny,
I thought it was an educational, informational and ofcourse at what price range I would get the guitar and maybe your ratings to those guitar was absolutely unnecessary and the last one was totally disrespectful.
I played, started from a 20 $ cheapest guitar from 2000 and I keep it because that was where I first learned.
Be more nice.
I remember when I worked at PBG when we where doing the master built reissues. We had one of those for about 2 weeks to reference with measurements and everything so we could replicate them to exact specs. Company had to take out 1million dollar insurance for D'Angelico to let us have it for the time we did.
Love these videos with you two. I really enjoy watch you playing guitar, and this one was fun, again.🙂 And this vintage guitar...wow! Beautiful.
Have a great weekend, Steve!🥰
Thanks Gabriella!! I always feel like a video where I just play guitar is not entertaining enough. I'm very encouraged to hear you say that!! 🥰
That vintage guitar is so beautiful! I would be scared to touch it! I’m super clumsy, I would probably drop it 😂 Love the videos you do with John. Have a great weekend😆
Thank you Cynthia!! Yeah, it took me a while to actually pick it up and play. I was super nervous!! Hopefully I hid it well?? Haha! 🤣
Your acoustic playing is up there with Marcin! Watch out Marcin! Here comes Stevie T! 😂😂 Not.
The mighty Stevie T asking the question for every musician in the world: “How much is this?”
Oh wow!! Wonder what kind of history that vintage guitar has? I would love to go back and see the original construction and how it looked in it's prime. Beautiful guitar. 😊
I'm sure a 70 year old guitar has tons of stories!! Haha! It has held up very well though. Especially considering it's all original!!
Hi how are you
Honestly, Steve is the only person I can learn on how to play a guitar. Plus he should be a comedian since he always makes me laugh. I even watched that entire sponsor for you Steve 😅

It’s always fun to see Stevie play, but even more fun and rare to see him play something other than metal, he really has that foo fighters variety
I wouldn't say any of them were bad, if you know how to play guitar, it'll always be good! Basically he played every single one amazingly

What a great video!! I loved the collaboration between you two on that $500 Riversong guitar. I've never played an acoustic guitar before, but my 1965 Hofner isn't too awfully far off at least as far as size. That D'Angelico was gorgeous! I love that you played black metal on it, well Neoclassical Jazz Mellow Death Fusion 🤣
I've never played a guitar that old before either (as far as I can remember). But it's a completely different experience. Wish I knew how to play them properly rather than just shred mindlessly!! 😆
Years ago there used to be a production of Chet Atkins guitars that sold for $40k
Whatever how much the price. Steve sound same (crap on acoustic 🤣) or vintage model.
