Thank you for this tutorial! I always had a hard time pitching with the mouse and wondered how others did it. I’ve never really touched the jets for that reason but going to hop on and try it now. Thanks man!
I roll and pitch my jet with the arrows on the keyboard. I yaw to the left by pressing the first side button on the mouse (button closest to you) then I yaw to the right by pressing the other side button by it. I throttle with right control, and brakes with right shift, fire with left mouse click, countermeasures with enter, switching weapons with the closest button to the left of right control (don't know what it's called). Afterburner by clicking the mouse scroll wheel, chase camera by pressing down right mouse click and I press the 'end' button which is above the arrow buttons to open my map. I think these are some very good jet key bindings
My biggest issues with flying in BF4: - I can't see the enemies, they are too small and tiny, they look like spots of dirt on my screen, both vehicles and infantry - The jets are just too damn fast for such a small map, by the time i see an enemy and take an aim, i'm already on the other side of the map and i have no time to shoot - Turning takes too much time and the loops are way too big - Heatseeker range is too short - Miniguns don't do enough damage unless you're 100% accurate, if you take a strafe and shoot a little bit, by the time you return the vehicle is already repaired - Flares take too long to replenish - No zoom or any kind of optics like thermal, infrared etc. - No extra seat for a spotter or support gunner On the other hand, choppers are way too slow
The key binding with the pitch helped some much, like you said running out of mouse pad is a massive issue, wouldent of found this without some advice 👍👍

@@GhostGamingg it's harder than i expected to fly, i did up and down on Space and L-Alt but when i want to shoot someone i use the mouse and space/L-alt on the same time xD and also i fly to low so i cant get up on time anymore so i crash....
Level Cap suggested unbinding roll from the mouse and swapping it with Yaw so that you can aim at targets with the mouse in a more traditional way, what're your thoughts on this? Do you recommend these bindings in the video or has LVLcap got a point? Really helpful content on your channel, thanks
Thanks Tom, honestly I prefer my way over Levelcap's, every good pilot I know doesn't do that Yaw rebind. I appreciate Level Cap's contribution and I know that video of his will be highly ranked given his stature within youtube, but all in all he isn't a fantastic pilot.

I use alt for countermeasures and crouching ;) Definitely switching tab for map (used to have it like that but my settings reset and forgot) and switching exit to T, I have reload on E, which mostly mitigated accidental exits, but it still happens sometimes when shooting TV ps. your sensitivity seems really high, most good infantry players seem to land around 15-20% 400-600dpi, I myself landed @15% and 400dpi, good sweet spot between accuracy and speed of turning for infantry, but found it too slow for vechicles, since I started driving them more recently, gonna try bumping vechicle sens to 30%, indy sens up to 20 feels a bit better.
Yeah a lot of people tell me I have high sens, but I'm used to playing RTS games in the past and so I'm a wrist mouser, I don't use my elbow pivot much.

I used to play bf4 about 5 to 6 years ago and i used to fly and own people with the Jet. Now i've tried and there is little to NO response in my mouse. When i used to drop 100 bombs with the warthog i would use the mouse mainly to move the jet around. Now its like i have .0000005 dpi going to the mouse and there is no control with the mouse at all. Everything is fine for helicopters though. Been through all the settings. Tried setting up a new profile with razer and higher dpi. Nothing works. Done with BF4 and don't think i'l buy the new battle fields either if this is what happens.
I've been a keyboard-only pilot since BF1942, using WASD and arrow keys for maneuvering, and Ctrl with arrow keys for freelook. It's a decent setup, but with some annoying limitations. I was looking to change it up just now, but am bummed to find out I can't have pitch on Mouse4 (your Space) and Mouse5 (your Alt) _and_ the regular mouse Y axis; since they're both on the mouse, it won't let me bind it. Very silly that the bind columns are restricted per device, unlike every other game in history. Do you or anyone know if this can be circumvented by editing the config directly?
Hey Ghost what would be the best layout to emulate the feel of a controller? I’m seeing a lot of pilots have either S or W as pitch us and A and D as rudders. In high-level dogfights being able to quickly snap your nose down is huge. If you notice an Immelmann or Split-S being preformed against you it allows you to pitch down and lay into them without the time delay of rolling your jet. I’m building a PC because the console greed and censorship has gotten out of hand for me. When it comes to specs, key binds, playing without a controller, I’m completely lost
Personally I use space to pitch up and left alt to pitch down. I think a lot of pilots don't bother binding something to pitch down on PC but as you say man, it's a great idea. Other than that my settings are pretty basic, I like to bind exit vehicle to 'B' instead of 'E' just so I don't fat-finger it and bail rather embarrassingly :D. Some people fly keyboard only with WASD and then the arrow keys, I would guess that sort of mimics the 2 analogue sticks?
Just use the controller on PC bro, it's really nice for fluid motion, though most would say mouse is more accurate. Mouse for ground of course, but for flying there is no reason not to use the controller.

Nah not at all. I love his videos because they do cater to an audience, albiet extremely niche. He's a great RUclipsr for caring enough to make the video. This video is perfectly timed for people just getting into the game, which currently, there is no other like it.

Any idea how to deal with TV and TOW missile gods? There are always a few people on the servers I played regularly that are just straight god in TOW and TV missiles. They can hit literally anything and everything.
TVs aren't so much of a problem since you can see them coming fairly easily, if you're going head on with an attack heli or boat you should pretty much expect it, especially if they're stationary and looking at you. TOWs can be a massive pain though, they're really difficult to see from certain angles.
Its a lot easier with controller. I have over 20k kills with attack Jet on PS4. I recently coming back to play BF4 but on PC because i dont have PS4 anymore. And i can't controll Jet anymore.
I don't just play this before I have a jet fetish I just still enjoy BF4 :). But I know what you're saying man, not exactly the best game to be spamming to grow a channel atm.
i put around 300 hours into bf4 and never knew how to fly a jet. after 5 years I know pilots play a different game up there thanks to you.

I just started playing this game and i could not shoot anyone whilst i was in a jet. Now i can!
I just want War Thunder controls for my jets. It would be a million times smoother.

one of my biggest gripes is that I cant freelook whilst rotating at one time, makes dogfighting in 1st person so much harder and constricting

I like to reverse pitch with throttle. W and S to PitchDown and PitchUp and Ctrl and Space to throttle. I think W and S to pitch are more intuitive

Ghost, when you fly stealth jets do you speed control using S + Afterburner or do you use the same scheme as your Attach Jets, tapping on S? Thanks!
I just use S when decelerating and then hold W when accelerating up with couple of taps on the afterburner.

There is no way around it, use third person and look behind instead.
