Thank you for this amazing footage. I am a California diver and have been landlocked in Utah for far too long. The video on this is wonderful. I have to get back there. I gotta say I wasn't a fan of the still shots - it took me out of the experience. I also felt a little claustrophobic because I couldn't hear the regulator or bubbles - LOL - I know I am weird. I was also hoping for softer or no music. Just my preferences - I know most people like the music, I just like to get as close to the real thing as possible since I am landlocked. Grateful you posted this, it helped me start my day off right. Love seeing God's creations through your lens. Thank you Thank you.
Sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve any of this if you’re reading this the God that loves you and cares for you made all of these things just be speaking it, do your part and let’s take care of the amazing creation he has blessed us with
Think you caught and Island Kelpfish hanging out with the lobster @8:10. Great find and great video overall. Haven't seen many Ocean Whitefish in SoCal dive videos either.
Nice, but water too cold and you can see all this stuff free diving in Laguna. Crescent Bay has lots of sea lions. Last time I swam there at high tide I watched as sheepshead came up on the shallow reef, 15 ft of water. It found an octopus, chased and fought it a few minutes and devoured it.
I didn’t snorkel but I believe you can see a lot just by snorkeling unless the vis is bad. Hard to say about sharks. I’ve never seen large sharks but they do exist.
I dive the Santa Cruz and Anacapa island fairly regularly and we do see sharks from time to time. Just came across a 15’ white shark about a month ago around 40’ deep at Anacapa. But we also see them close to mainland shore too so they’re just out there, being sharky. 🤷♂️
@@stilletiefen2230 Well, one time, we anchored up on one of our favorite high-spots on the backside of Anacapa Island. As we were changing into wetsuits, I briefly saw a flash of something at the back of the boat (was its tail) and then a disturbance in the water, and a large white (maybe 1.5m - 2m long) something fade away under the surface. I didn't know it was the body of a white shark, but I suspected it was. I reported to my dive buddies, but one of them said I was crazy and I probably saw a Mola 😂. He decided to dive the spot, so I retrieved a truniquet from my dive bag, and on his second drop he saw a 15 footer slowly cruising our high spot right near the anchor line. He swam straight for the boat and we abandoned that spot for the day. We didn't just change spots, we decided to dive Santa Cruz Island instead that day. The same shark was filmed by @airpilika (IG) the day before in that area. Greetings from Santa Barbara!!
The lighting at 7:10 creates such a dramatic and intense atmosphere, amazing work!
It's to see the marine life flourishing there again. It used to be completely fished out by commercial fishing, party boats and private boat owners.
Man how I miss diving the Channel Islands. Your video has brought back great memories, diving from the Specter out of Ventura. Thx.
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the beauty down there. Brings back many great memories. Glad to see the kelp forests and habitat are surviving

This needs to be made available as a screensaver for TV. So interesting how lobster react when not threatened. Top notch, Thank You
Love it! The kelp forest is healthy there.
Wow, so so pretty. Well made. Diving the Channel Islands just landed on my short list thanks to this.

The music is perfect. First time seeing a kelp forest.🙏
Wow that water looks so clean and beuatiful. Little piece of paradise. 💙🙆♀️
This is gorgeous footage... I love this.
I see my Sheephead bro right at the beginning! Great video!
Amazing video! Great clarity and I love how the sunlight comes through. Thanks for sharing this.

Also a lot of "Calico" Kelp Bass in there. What is the fish that crosses in front of the big Sheephead at 7:35? Blacksmith maybe?
Yes a blacksmith. Lots of them near channel islands.
Cool video, amazing dive
Been there and done that. Super experience.
Wow I needed that. Thanks
Mesmerizing.
Great videos!
Awesome viz!
Could you please share what underwater camera equipment you use? Been looking for something good.
GoPro 10

Don't suppose you can get to this place from scorpion cove can you?
The dive boat leaves from Ventura harbor. I don’t know exactly where this particular site is.
Cool video bro! Amazing visibility ❤👌What was the depth? Do you have redfilter on?
No more than 30ft. No filters used.

can you see much by snorkeling level? also should i be concerned about sharks?

Thank you both! I did end up snorkeling at anacapa (not too far away was a dead seal). I'm glad I did it though, despite my concerns about sharks.
