Thank you so much for this info! There is really not a lot out there as far as reviews or videos of this tent. So this was very nice info to have to help me make a decision on my purchase! Thanks Again!
it doesn't seem like the fabric is pulled tight in any of the clips or photos, are you locking those corner arms out? also when putting away i heard it's best to zip the doors just to where they meet the elastic band, for some reason this helps suck everything in better without trapping the air and pushing the material outwards. nice review!
Thanks buddy for sharing this beautiful tent I love it I’m so relaxing 😌 watching it no need music sound x but more relaxing watching off your beautiful voice and amazing your tips tent xx sending full support like watching x and wishing you all the best will arrive 🙏💐💝 Love from DUBAI
I stumbled across your review as I'm strongly considering a James Baroud RTT. I too have a Second Gen Raptor. It has a SNUGTOP cap with the Sportsman's package for increased weight capacity. It also has Yakima rails installed by the factory. My current tent is about 40lbs lighter than the JB tent I'm considering. So I have a couple of questions about your setup. What truck cap are you running and what rack system do you have? Have you had any issues with the weight of the JB on your Raptor's truck cap?
thank you for a great review , my question is can I have this on top of my Skoda Karoq suv? I want one soo bad , or you still happy with it ? is it still the best out there ? and what do you call the side part ? that's a must as well ? they come separate right ?
Excellent video - thank you. Can you please tell me how much bedding you can actually fit? I know you said you only have half the space due to the cargo area but I was keen to find out how much you can squeeze in? I’m looking at this particular model as i do want the cargo area but would like to fit in as much bedding as possible inside.
About 2 sleeping bags and 2 pillows is all you can get if you cram it down really good. Also, I have 2 additional layers of eggshell which overstuff it a bit. I would totally opt out of the cargo and go for storage next time.
@@joshlittle5581 hey mate - I have another question about the cargo area if you don’t mind... does it collect water when it rains? If so, is that an issue do you think weight wise??
Excellent review and particularly useful as it was based on 5 years use. I'm seriously considering this exact model and have not seen too many negative opinions on the internet. One I have come across though (from Feb 2018) outlined some issues on 2 of these units. These issues were 1. Fan started rattling after 4-5 months, 2. Latches: finish started flaking and the latches started to rust, 3. The gel coat (applied over the fibreglass) developed numerous cracks, 4. Sections of the tent fabric developed numerous cracks and "pinholes", 5.Some other hardware at the bottom of the tent also started to rust. I'm inclined to think that the issues in that review were an isolated case (tents were apparently bought by 2 friends a couple of months apart and from the same shop, so possibly a "batch issue" - which can happen). Anyway I assume you've had no such issues with your tent - would you be able to confirm that? Thanks again for a very good report.
The fan does have an uneven sort of rattling sound to it, but that's the only issue I've noticed from that list. Keep in mind, I live in Utah where there is very low humidity and therefore almost no rust.
@@joshsgarage1545 Thanks mate for your response. From all I've seen such issues are in the minority and can happen with any brand. Utah - yes nice and dry there. I'm in Tasmania, Australia. The review I mentioned in my post appears to be from a Canadian blogger. The modern world - you can talk to people from all over the place so easily now. Thanks again for your reply and your review - safe travels.
Note there is no warranty for James Baroud roof top tents in Australia that are ‘second hand’ ie if you are not the original owner. Therefore, a rooftop tent sold to another person is not so valuable due to you are left on your own to repair any issues as JB were very clear they are not interested. Read the fine print…..
You forgot to snap the hydraulic arms into place, which increases your height and stability.
So he’s been “using” it for 5 years and didn’t know this?!
@@tomaskroupakkfoto4132 probably also because he hasn’t used it since he set it up for a paid review

Okay I should have watched more of your videos. Question answered about your Truck cap brand.

I gotta ask about the flying winch....
You actually have it for 5 years but you do not open and snap the beams in place !? 🤪
Price please ?
How much did the rooftop tent cost?
About 5000 aud
