I got myself some trail-running shoes! There have been too many times recently where I have been on hikes and just wanted to mix it up with a bit of running but didn't feel like I had the right gear - well now I do! So I got together with my friend Colin and we went on an adventure to the Brecon Beacons. We started our weekend with a warm-up hike (www.alltrails.com/explore/tra.... We then stayed the night at a campsite near Brecon (using my Tentbox for the very first time woohoo!) and tackled the famous Horseshoe Circular the next day. We did a combination of walking and running across Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, Cribyn and Fan Y Big. It was absolutely sensational, I think I love trail-running already.

FAQ's
How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these RUclips videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackingbananas.com/pr...
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

So much stuff I want to say about this video. Gorgeous scenery - It's been about a decade since I was last in the Brecon Beacons and now I want to book another trip. The food at the end - love it when you've been exercising all day and you can get anything you want, 100% guilt free! Was nervous to watch you running though. A few years ago, in the Lakes, a friend of mine took a little tumble out hiking, but landed badly on shale leading to many stitches. As we waited in A&E, another man who'd taken a much worse fall (as he was trail running with speed) got chatting to us and his injuries were x100 worse. It's put me off ever wanting to try and I'm always a bit nervous when I see others running, but you guys were sensible - stress levels were low when watching this! Fab video ❤️
I was so lucky to visit Brecon Beacon a couple years ago, when visiting Wales. We actually stayed in an airbnb house (old farm house) inside the park. Loved it. And my hikes through the park.
As a car guy, seeing you stand on Colin’s bonnet like that made a little bit of me die inside 😫
Loved this video! Makes me excited for going back to hiking in the Lake District with my family again next summer can’t wait
Great vlog wonderful Christie!!! The views on the hike looked amazing!!!
Amazing! Everything looked so beautiful including the food. Well done.
That looked chilly and a bit challenging. I really like the pub idea at the end...thats where i would have been the whole time!
Hahaha the pub was SO much more worth it after the big hike!
Great video Christianne. If these shoes don't work for you in the long run there are lots of other trail runners so keep looking. Many folks find Hokas too wobbly and gortex shoes too hot. Great views. Have been wanting to trail run in Wales!
Definitely need a wee lesson on Welsh pronounciation Christianne 😂 but love seeing you out enjoying Brecon 😍
Waiting for Pakistan series 😍
Trail running looks so much fun, I'd love to try it! I've heard great things about Hokas too, hopefully you're satisfied with your shoe choice 😁 And the scenery is absolutely stunning!
Awesome video Christianne 😊👍👍
Oh my gosh of course there is a queue to take a photo 😂so British! Well done Christianne! I’m moving back to the UK next year after living in Aus so it’s great to see these spots I can explore in my home country!
You can cut the tubes on the water bottles down! :) I have that pack and cut the straws down a bit :)
Amazing view!!! Good job 👏
Thanks Adeline 😊
You can either cut the straws of your bottle in your pack so they are shorter. Or I actually have this same running vest there are little pockets at the top you can tuck them into
Way to go! Just make sure you don't run downhill, save your knees for the long run 😅🙂
thankyou for this lovely n adventurous video 👍👍love this.
Pleasure 🥰🥰
@@BackpackingBananas do you have any plan for India ?
Have you thought about doing some of the Camino de Santiago? It looks like it would be a good one to do some running on! Awesome video! Loved it!
The trail looks so nice!! Thank you for taking us along :D
Also I was wondering whether music stop around 11:05 up to 11:22 was intentional hahah
Also around 13:00
It was not intentional 😭 there was deffo music there haha I’m not sure why YT cut it out. I’ve put some replacement music from the RUclips audio library in there now just processing 🥲
@@BackpackingBananas ooh noo that sucks! :( hopefully youtube won’t do it again. Still really enjoyed the video though! ❤️ And I’m really excited for the Pakistan series!! (And you travelling to Peru!!! 🙉)
That was a nice looking trail I still want to invite you to the Adirondacks area of New York State the hiking trails are unlimited. Also Christiana I held right there with most likes for a little bit on your last video. It was fun to see if I would remain top but I eventually lost. ❤️👍🙂
Aww Jeffrey! You held the top spot for a good stint 😅
Hahahha- those Welsh pronunciations.
A little trick to remember is one 'F' is pronounced 'V' (two 'ff's is a normal 'f') and Y when on it's own means 'the' and is said phonetically like 'ughh' (which also conveniently rhymes with 'the') so Pen y Fan is "Pen-ugh-Van"
Grazie che ci fai vedere tanti posti bellissimi. I tuoi video sono molto belli.
Ciao giramondo
Inov 8 do a nice trail running shoe.
The Y in Pen-y-Fan and Pen-y-Big is pronounced more like 'er' not 'e'. Also fan is pronounced van, Welsh uses a different alphabet and thus different has different sounds.

who is the dude? the flavor of the month?
LOL 😂 a friend
Longtime trail runner here, Hokas are awful!Try looking into less cushioned shoes.
I swear by salomons-way better for your foot mechanics long term.
I tried hokas for a few years. Nothing but foot problems, but everyone’s foot is different. The only thing I will say is less is more and hoka has way too much! If you roll an ankle in them, it’s treacherous.
He is cute...😉😉😉
Lovely hike but your friend seems to show no emotions 😐 next hike with him fill him up with caffeine and get him excited and smiling 😃
hey Christian if you need a hand on your videos ill be glad to help I'm an editor
