Hi, what if I would like to load fss0 sys with this overclock?
@@baozerbui Never load sys with dram overclocks, it can cause nand corruption.
dude... I know this is an older video but like... I wish I could have you making guides for everything. I don't think I've even had masters-level professors even back in college that could explain things in detail yet concise and to-the-point as fluidly as you are able to in a 30 damn minute video. Bravo man. Do the education professional field a favor and get some kind of teaching degree (kidding but... not kidding?). Anyways thanks a ton for making this guide. Keep up the good work amigo o/
Rarely do I comment on videos, but I just wanted to let you know the info in this guide was the last bit I needed to get my sys-clk software configured to show options beyond 1600MHz. Maybe because newer versions are out now that it's been a few years but I didn't need to get rid of that "minerva" file for higher clocks to work correctly. I really appreciate you putting this together.
Also, I didn't know the RCM Loader was a thing. I need to get one!
Switch OLED DDR4 chips also happened to be binned for 2131.2MHz, so if you happen to know someone who's experienced with soldering in modchips, you'll also find the Switch OLED to be the most straightforward to OC.
Man, I tried to get a modded OLED last month... I lost my money instead....
I give up on that now. Erista 4 life.

Will do when I get back in town. Thanks for the suggestion. I should do updates for others as well.
It’s still the same worked for me
thanks for this tutorial, got it working on my OLED switch.
I can't believe I am the only one who has done everything step by step but all I get is black screen when boot to emummc...
Tell me more about your setup?
Syscfw? emuMMC? Newest atmosphere? And nearest overclock patch?
@@FinalByteGaming Yes to all. And as I wrote I boot to emummc
Same thing happened to me. So it not alone. Some switches can't handle 1863, try 1732
This is next level, and makes the switch into that switch pro. Witcher 3 is smooth and native res at 768mhz GPU and 2000mhz mem. Nintendo should make this official and get two more years out of this crazy hardware.
Also nothing explodes without having it plugged in the charger lol.
May I know how about battery life compare to without overclock?
They won't, eventhough it seems safe nbow, it still wil degrade your hadrware faster in the longer term, I doub Nintendo used the highest quality of board components, like capacitors/vrms whatever. SO even if it does not seem to thermal throttle or anything, something might still degrade, not to mention battery life suffering, which is their no 1 priority as well. Also they likely cannot garantuee this works for every Switch made, as binning might mean some Switches gpu/cpu may not run as high, or the RAM in some Switches become too unstable at 2k mhz.
@@TerranigmaQuintet yeah. You need proper ram timing to be stable at 2k+ mhz.
Thank you kind sir! Works for me. I just did some minor tweaks on my configuration then follow your instructions. Thanks again!
Awesome!
@@FinalByteGaming forgot to ask. will this method will get you ban? I haven't used any type of overclocking before with my clean sysnand because of the risk of getting ban.
@@pinoygameroom2470 I only use emuMMC and I keep it offline so there is 0 risk of a ban.

See my pinned comment. You need to add that to his Hekate ini and boot using it. Not fusee
Hey, so the latest version of the loader says that this overclock is unsafe for Erista and has an 1862.4MHz limit. I'm running a stress test now to see if it will cause any errors (I don't wanna corrupt a game save). From what I can tell though, the developers have removed the functionality because they have deemed it as unsafe.
Edit: Actually, it looks like this is possible but it isn't enabled by default and is still classed as unsafe. It needs to be manually patched back into the loader by using the python script. The DRAM voltage can also be adjusted, with some overhead for an increase.
Edit 2: It ran 248 loops for about 4 hours before I manually cancelled it and decided I am satisfied that it's stable.
Here's hoping when I install python that I find my ram is binned another 10% higher at least.
I'm really glad you made this comment anymore, and that you do the stress test see for yourself.
When this mod first started becoming available to the public there was a lot of drama going on in the community regarding it for absolutely no reason. The developers stated that people were overvolting their systems and frying their switches, but unless you have advanced knowledge can't easily modify the ram or overclocked do such things. I don't even know how to do that.
Whenever someone in the forum started asking questions about how to get the mod working on their Erista, everyone just started flaming them saying not to overvolt their Arista they're going to fry it because they overclock their system too high. But no one was talking about actually doing that, all they were asking was how to get the ram modification working. Eventually I could figure it out, so I decided to put the video out there.
I haven't updated anything on my switch to 14.0 because I'm worried about compatibility with this.
Games run so much better thanks to this ram overclock, especially when it comes to 60 FPS mods. Skyrim unstable 60, but after I enable this I get a locked 60fps experience.. it's wonderful.
I've been checking daily on the GitHub see when a new version releases, once that's out I'll see you about updating my system and perhaps doing an updated atmosphere update guide.
On a side note, my channel's been quiet because I thought covid in February, recovered from it and then my real life work got very busy.
Have a notepad full of video ideas but no time to actually make them.
@@FinalByteGaming Sounds like a lot of miscommunication. Are you definitely sure this mod doesn't overvolt by default? Because in the later version, overvolting is as simple as editing an ini file. If it's using stock voltages the only issue I can see is some chips might underperform and cause OS corruption, but making a benchmark the first thing to do after overclocking largely mitigates that risk and lets you know if your RAM is poorly binned.
I'm just slightly concerned by the removal of this patch by the devs and the subsequent readme changes that specify this frequency as unsafe.
I know this is really old, but what were you using to test stability exactly?

Hello there great video ,could you tell us your thoughts one year after using overclocking permanently (assuming you are still using it),also in 2023 (today) does this video need an update?
keep up the good work and thanks for your time !!!!
Has ANYONE had any weird graphical bugs? I hadn’t even turned on the over clocking software, and I’m seeing werid graphical bugs in my games + slight speed increase. Really not sure what specifically might cause that….
if overclocked, is the clock speed stay all the time at the highest clock speed? or will auto ramp up when necessary? for cpu gpu and ram
You can choose what speed you want. It'll stay at whatever clock speed you set it to.
Nothing is automatic.
Would it be possible to overclock everything to the max on battery on the OLED model?
Great guide, I wish my switch cooler because harder game that have 60 fps mods get my release switch to like 66 degrees and I even changed thermal paste and got new fan :/
You can change the thermal paste, especially if it's 5 years old. It will help a little.
But the switch gets hot when running intense games. Only way around it is to get a switch with a Mariko chip, but you'll need a modchip to install cfw
I'm also overcloking my game + reverse. So I basically have everything it needs so I just skipped those homebrew. I grab the 199x memory clock and followed ur instructions with making new folder deleting sys file idk remember the name exactly and I also edited my bootloader just like you said. After rebooting to sysnand (cuz I don't have emunand) and I ended having with switch suck at black screen after atmosphere logo and I have to force back to stock by holding power button.
What do you think about this? Can I talk with you on ur discord channel so you can help me out with this problem?

I think it's because you run sysnand. You'll have to edit the config to load sysnand instead of emuMMC

How do i do this if i dont use emmummc, my isp sucks so i couldnt play switch games online so I decided to install my cfw to the actual console to have more space for games on my sd card

I have a question, but first let me tell you... Dude thank you for the instructions. I made that a week ago and I'm very happy. Now that a new atmosphere is out, can I update it so I can update to the latest official firmware cause I want the folders. Is it safe or I need to do all the steps again? I don't mind but someone told me that the kip is different for every atmosphere and I don't know about the latest atmosphere.
WAIT!!!!
Atmosphere hasn't been updated yet, if you update to 14.0 CFW will be unavailable.
Hekate has been updated, and I see new versions of status monitor and sys-clk are out as of today (March23rd-2022), I don't see a new Atmosphere yet.
Once new versions of those are out, you will also need the newest version of the ram-overclock(which also isn't updated yet, and MAY NEVER BE due to the developer not being interested).
So update with caution.
It should in theory be safe to update your sysnand to 14.0 and leave your emuMMC at 13.2 for the time being.
Folders aren't worth the trouble yet.
I see.. . Thank you for the clarification! You've been very helpful! There is already a prerelease atmosphere or something that supports the latest firmware tho. Yeah, folders not worth it if I'm to lose the ram overclock.

This is extremely cool. I always wondered if there were any possibilities of OC'ing the Erista model Switches beyond max in Sysclk.
One question is what tangible improvements have you seen by overclocking the memory to 2ghz? Any games in particular that has benefited well from this change/ I've seen people on the GBAtemp forums say that overclocking the memory makes the biggest difference but I've yet to see anyone post evidence proving that in games.
Well I'm not digital foundry so doing the in-depth comparison is a little bit above me. But I can tell you that I definitely notice improvements on loading screens.
Memory bandwidth has been the biggest bottleneck to Switch games, switching from 1331 to 1600 mHz in Persona 5 Royal gives me near constant 60fps with the fps cheat enabled
in the new zelda game overclocking the ram to 1866 is the key to constant 30fps
any chance of an updated guide ? using the new files from the overclocking suite caps the gpu in handheld mode to 468 mhz :/
Hi, I dont use Kekate and I was wondering if it was actually necessary for overclocking the Ram
It is because of how it boots drivers.

Can it run on switch v1?
Yup, thats what this guide was made on.
but... the kip file provided by KazushiME has been downgraded to 1886mhz. but it's still very very helpful. Also atmosphere and the switch firmware were just updated so you should wait a little bit for this mod to get updated as well.
Sigpatches - link is dead

Are there ANY risks?
Nope, it's all gains. Because nothing is being overvolted.
