I signed up for Hulu on a Black Friday deal, so I've only had it for a short time. Planned on keeping the basic app, as I've enjoyed some of the shows they carry. But will continue to see how it goes
Although I’m not subscribed right now, I’m a fan of Hulu, but not that pos Disney.
So like all the other streaming services, I’ll subscribe again one day to Hulu, but only for a month
I disagree with the other comment here. I think all of the on-demand content from Hulu will become fully integrated into the Disney+ app at some point. Hulu might continue to exist for the Live TV service. I don't think Disney is keen on bringing that feature into the Disney+ app.
I don’t think Disney will keep Hulu going indefinitely, as a separate app. It is not a now or never scenario. It’s timing. They are going to want to make this unwieldy process as straightforward as possible. Hulu probably won’t exist standalone in 6 years, at the outside.
If Disney were to shut down Hulu, they would have already done it with this latest change to the app. So IMHO, Hulu as a separate app is going to be around for awhile.
I don’t necessarily think it’s now or never. I think they are being careful about the process, but I think it will happen. Especially with/when the ESPN app is introduced to Disney+. It’s careful aggression. But, I think the company wants the grand dame Disney Company to lead the way.
Former Warner Brothers boss Jason Kilar spearheaded the initial launch of Hulu. At the time Netflix was much smaller and Mr. Kilar saw the opportunity for rapid growth. Hulu probably would have been in Netflix’s spot in the streaming business. Jason Kilar was overruled by other people at Hulu and the opportunity passed them by.
It’d be cool if Disney added Hulu trademark avatars to Disney+.
Fascinating stuff. Do you think that eventually the ESPN+ app will also be shut down and incorporated in Disney+? I know they have this joint venture going with Fox and Warner to stream their cable channels, but that wouldn't seem to be a place to stream feeds of the Bundesliga or Big 12 football and basketball.
Disney's strategy with ESPN is really baffling to me. They're actually launching a NEW ESPN app in 2025 in addition to ESPN+ AND the new sports app.
@@ShallIStreamIt yes, I think Disney is optimistic with ESPN. I love sports and ESPN is a great brand for it. But, they need to streamline it, as much as they are streamlining Disney+ and Hulu. I would shutter ESPN+, not enter another sports venture with another company, and add yet another hub to Disney+ labelled “ESPN.” They already share a large number of “30 For 30” documentaries with ESPN+.
I say why continue to have the bundle cause it should be available to everyone who uses Disney+ it would get more eyes on the Hulu content that way cause as it is it feels like the lie peacock told us where it would be free to us but pay for more and but not telling us how little would actually be free to use then would slowly chip away at what was free to use like with this new rollout of Disney+ if they want people to watch the Hulu content it’s going to have to be made available
I was told that the host of this channel has autism autism so I just wanted to say you're doing a great job. However, if that's not true and I was lied to, I apologize, however, without such a disability I would like to know why your delivery is slower than paint drying? It's absolutely brutal. Good luck to you young man.
I don't think Disney+ will ever be successful in it's current form. They should have stuck with Hulu and had Disney as an add on.
I agree, they should’ve added Disney content to Hulu. Hulu is more broad and we’re used to a mix of different content from Hulu. The Disney brand is too associated with Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
I don't like disney anymore. I thoughtvthey eete going out. A lot of people are mot happy w disney and what they are doing to the movies n other content.
Disney will destroy HuLu just like Star Wars and Doctor Who! Go Woke Go Broke!!!
