    I have one on my Milwaukee M18, it never occurred to me that they made a universal one. I'll be buying at least four of these for my corded Makita's. Thanks so much!

      Your welcome… just buy the right one, don’t be like me. They have another brand on Amazon that is also 5/8-11 and a little cheaper than the Milwaukee. I put a link in my description. It’s Superior or something like that.
      I just saw it today while getting pictures for the video.

    That’s a great idea, something else to check out is the Flapper adapter. It allows you to put a flapper wheel or a burr bit on your angle grinder. I have one and it works great for times when you don’t have a straight end grinder.

      Yeah that would be nice… I’ve been wanting that M12 Right Angle grinder for awhile… it never goes on much of a deal.

    This would come in handy. I usually can't find my tool and use Knipex Cobras to tighten and loosen the nut.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  Год назад +1

      The Cobras have become the universal “tool wrench” for me too in a pinch.
      I keep my wrenches in the bags with the tools, but sometimes I get the tools out of my truck and don’t take the bags in. It’s nice just not to have to keep up with one other thing.
      Thanks for watching 👍

    I need a conversion for my Milwaukee M18 7/9 from the 5/8" to a spacer to 7/8" hole for the other discs. The large milwaukee comes with one of these locking nuts, and it works great.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  Год назад +1

      So you need to go from 5/8 to 7/8… or the other way?
      Like this… amzn.to/3kaIr31 (I know nothing about this product, just seeing if this is what you are talking about)

      @@MORGANSMaintenance Sweet! I wonder if it will work on 9" flat cutting wheels? Something like that is what I'm looking for, im sure others as well. Working on shipping container sides with the indented sides takes a bigger disc.

      @@halledwardb yeah, that metal having those ribs makes it hard I bet… you work on ship yards or you making houses?

      @@MORGANSMaintenance Mostly walk in cooler conversions. Got a deal on a bunch of flat 9" cutting discs and can't use them.

    Just bought one of these from my local Toolstation. As Morgan says in the video you can never find the right spanner to fit. This will resolve that problem :)

      I can almost always get it by hand without a wrench… which makes me never keep up with the wrench making it unfindable when I need it

    It was AEG accessory. Then TTI got a licence for AEG power tools manufacturing and we have this flange packed as Milwaukee.
    I bought my first Fixtec in 2004 and since then I've never owned any angle grinder without it.
    Although most of time you don't need the wrench, sometimes it gets stuck on, so I always have wrenches in every angle grinder box.
    M14 is a bread and butter of all European grinders (115, 125, 150, 180 and 230 disc diameter).
    Not using a guard is very, very irresponsible way of using the angle grinder. Most discs fit inside the guard, even if they stand a bit proud. In case of kickback or disc shattering that guard saves your eyes, hands and sometimes life.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  Год назад

      I figured the M14 was the standard in your world… I just saw Milwaukee and it said universal fit… didn’t even scroll down to the description 😂
      Yeah I keep my wrenches in the bags with tools. 90% of the time I never need a wrench… or probably this, but you are right that it’s inevitable you will.

    i changed all 5" to milwaukeeenut but not yet on 9" mostly becouse use diamondblade on that and feels more better checking if snug with the wrench. And for me i once needed use the milwaukee opener on those since the normal dont fit :D so even if dont need good have one around for that one time.
    only need work few times with the companygrinder all have used nail/knife and hammer on the nut to open&close before go full mental

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  Год назад

      Yeah I’ve gotten a hold of a grinder or two where it was nearly impossible to get the nut off because of previous users… I’m always like “How did they do this”
      I normally can get my wheels off by hand without anything, but sometimes the wheels are hot and this makes it a little nicer.

    They are a clever idea, although I don't use them personally. Interesting about the different threads, my Bosch unit doe have an M14 thread, so they must alter the spindles to suit the market.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  Год назад

      Yeah I figured that is the “Standard” spindle somewhere for it to be labeled as universal. I was just happy clicking away that I didn’t think to read the description.

  • @Ola_s23
    @Ola_s23 Год назад +1

    reckon this is common knowledge, but as long as it is not a completely damaged disc, you can just loosen the nut by turning the disc with your hand. even with guards on or cut discs. no tools no fancy nuts.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  Год назад

      Yeah, that’s what I said I do most of the time… it’s the occasional hot… or real sharp disc that I don’t do that with.
      That’s why normally I don’t have the wrench with me, because I use it so infrequently. I either leave it in the bag in my truck or it’s stored in a drawer somewhere.
      Appreciate your thoughts and thanks for the suggestion 👍

    There usefull but the original nut 🔩 can be flipped for thick disc centering on the nut diameter 😳, plus an old steel fixers removal method is lock jaming the disc against a piece of wood 🪵 to back off the nut 🔩 without a wrench 🔧 😉.
    Just looking at X-lock discs for all the options & cost loss 🙅🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🙍🏼‍♂️...
    No thread so polishing heads gone 🤷🏼‍♂️ straight away just to name 1☝🏻 lost function 😁🤤🫠, dont fall for it lol.
    M14 is probably european grinder spindle?

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  Год назад

      Yeah that’s what I found out on the M14.
      I almost always can get my discs off with the regular nut by hand… occasionally for some reason I can’t.
      I’m not a fan usually of tools that use “certain attachments”. It never fails they are always hard to get a hold of for me. Sometimes there isn’t a choice, but it’s not me preference.
      Great point in the thick discs.. appreciate it 👍👍
