I'm from México. Sacbé albums are hard to find and expensive even in México. First two albums are considered their best and are latinamerican jazz classics. However and from my personal view their next releases are better and less derivative. Toussaint family are very important in culture and arts in my country. Excuse my English. Saludos desde México!
Muchas Gracias, Ricardo. I spent two weeks near Puerto Vallarta last month and I'm sorry to say that I did not hear anything like this on the radio, or in the club at my resort. The first number is very satisfying and reminds me of some of the better Latin American fusion I heard in the 1970s. I'll be back to hear more another time.
@@kwgm8578 I'm from Mexico and unless you live near a college radio station or a pirate radio station (highly unlikely), they'll never play something like this over the airwaves lol. Mostly just Top 40 hits or songs from Tiktok.

Mexican here. My dad used to listen this album when i was a kid, i always thought this music was old and really never enjoy it. Iam 26 and now i can fully understood what was this all about.
Similar situation here with RnB, Jazz and Soul. Pops used to play Whitney, Luther Vandross, and all that good stuff on the weekends. I didn't really give a shit, being a little kid and all, but it absolutely seeped into my subconscious. Now I'm in my 20s and I've unlocked a love for good old school music.

my jaw actually dropped after the trumpet solo in the first song ended and the instrumentals kicked in. holy shit. this is incredible and I really hope RUclips doesn’t nuke it for c0pyright related reasons
Both play and production are so crisp, especially for this time. Four parts are as integrated and comprehensive as compass points, with bonus dimensions from the guests
I would guess this is valve gear, needing a lot of engineering to get anything good out of it. Transistors and solid state primarily won because they brought down price and barrier of entry, not because they had better fidelity.

I think it means white path. Like a path you walk on.
In Yucatán they have walk ways with white rocks called sacbés.
