Actually, depending if Deicide puts you behind them, it might have good synergy with Silence Sword, which is also a Hidden Blade item plus Duel. Maybe a Phaser Prisoner would work good with it as well?
Recruit is great however, in my experience picking him up when you’re new is a massive turn off, most common skulls feel like “alright this guy is kinda cool what else can he do?” picking up common recruit feels like “ew the fuck is this slow ass goofy ass bozo, is this the dedicated meme skull?” And then you never touch him again unless you see someone else use the upgraded versions
Yeah that's definitely how a lot of players experience the game. I'd wager a lot of people miss out on Bomber and Mummy for the same reasons, as well as plenty of others. Although personally I think Common-Unique Recruit is fine, he doesn't start popping off until Legendary.
It's about how many doors you go in before you reach shops/bosses. It's random, and can roll a low amount, high amount, and all in between. The less doors you go into the less gold and bone shards you get, which makes the run much harder, cause less gear and less bone shards you can allocate to your Arachne shrines once you unlock that feature in the DM. It's legitimately the worst thing that can happen to someone's run, and most people are like yourself and never even notice it's happening. It's why I wish South Paw would just standardize the door count somewhere in the middle with little variance.
I wanna see Dominator with a bunch of "on attack" items. Thief Armor, Rapidity 4, Afterimage, Crown of Thorns technically, just anything that can proc a billion times from his Madness
When fighting the warrior, lol at where the ADVENTURER is facing, not the shield. It's dumb the shield doesn't act right, but no matter what, when the shield is up, they are immune to their front. Always hit them in the back, basically

I've not played recruit for a year or so until I've watched Beelz and Haxa use it with skill spam builds, and I've fallen in love with him ever since

Sadly there isn't one. None of the colored inscriptions have upgrades, so Masterpiece, Sin, Omen, and Sun and Moon.

I think it hard carries the Poison Inscription just because of how reliable it is
