Our family is really good about cleaning up as we open. We are the family who opens one present at a time watching the person open and OOO and AWW about each present. I makes for a long day of enjoying our gifts and family!! ❤️ Everyone pitches in to get everyone’s gifts stacked up in neat piles and getting the room back in order so we can then dig into the yummy food waiting for us. 😃
My family is the exact same way! We clean as we go. We take our time and watch each other open presents. Our gifts stacked up.

I use pillow cases to 'wrap' all the Christmas presents. I still plan on having a few more kids, so once our family is complete, then I'll spring for custom Christmas sacks with each of the kids' names on them. It helps with time (not wrapping each one up and the clean up after) and cuts down on garbage and recycling and buying wrapping paper and bows every year.
I am the one to immediately clean up and toss the paper as soon as I've opened the gift. I have OCD and seeing the excess trash makes me stressed and anxious. This is a hot take, but I've grown to prefer gifts without any wrapping at all and I do not wrap any gifts I give out anymore. It's easier and less trash to clean afterwards.
That’s how I feel too with all the trash when it’s all over!!
Hi Ashley, I'm so glad you had a great Christmas! When my kids were younger at Christmas, the papers & all the toys, clothes etc were all over. We tried to clean up some, but it didn't help much till after Christmas. As the kids got older, it got better. Now it's just my husband & I. So my husband gets most of the wrapping papers, etc. & gets it thrown away. Then I put both our things away. Mostly clothes & a few trinkets. Then we ate. It was nice & quiet. We watch some movies. Then we went to bed! I know, pretty dull, but we're in our 70s, so it's good! Thanks for sharing! Have a Happy New Year! I'm having my 74th Birthday on the 30th. ♥️😊❤️🫂🐾🌟🍾🎉

Hey Friend, Happy Wednesday. I don’t worry about gift giving because I always remember what people say. Also I come up with great ideas based on what I know they like. It’s not always easy with the ones who are picky with gifts though. For example, I never know what to get my dad for Christmas but I did great this year and he used all of his gifts. ❤ I love all four of your and becka’s channels (vlogging and cleaning). You’re both down to earth and so much alike especially because you both have judge free zones and give so many motivation and kind words. ( I have been watching for over your channels for over a year now). ❤ Me and my family get the trash bag ready when we start opening presents because we don’t want to deal with the trash afterwards.

Glad you and your family had a great Christmas Ashley! Growing up and through our adulthood, we have trash bags to toss the gift wrapping and mess when opening gifts. Makes the clean up easier and makes for a pleasant environment whem we were kids for my mom, and now as adults. We are use to it and much prefer it. I get anxious with clutter and can't bear it much 🤷🏽♀️ Of course you want the kids to feel that Christmas that's about the gifts with fun mess but they dont care if you're cleaning around them. I don’t celebrate Christmas the traditional way, but I do take time for my family❤ we watched some Christmas movies had some snacks gave lots of hugs had lots of laughs, so yeah, we enjoyed ourselves! Christmas was different this year. We went to breakfast with my brother-in-law. Then took the gifts to the granddaughters and watched them open. My son and his wife were both sick and hacking all over the place. We opted out of dinner. Didn't want to eat food that she had coughed all over. Came home and watched some movies and munched the rest of the day. Glad you had a good Christmas. It's nice to have traditions. Great memories.

Post Christmas unwrapping we clean up kinda quick so kids can enjoy presents before all the family comes over since we host.
We had a great Christmas, I love seeing the kids unwrap and be excited! I also love that we have my in-laws and parents over at the same time.
I make a big ham dinner, my kids love my ham and look forward to it. I make tons of candies too. I love holiday dinners. I always go all out. It’s a great tradition to have
I also use to get Christmas pictures done every year or close to it. My 5 kids range from 10-26. My oldest doesn’t live at home anymore. I have a professional camera so every holiday we pretty much host so we always take pictures. However, it’s not “professional” the last ones I had done were at a Christmas tree farm. I took a few props and it was one of my favorite photo shoots!
Definitely do it. I am going to have some done this year I just have to figure out a time because three of my kids work and 2 work and have school, two Littles just have school.
You clean way more on Christmas night than I do 😂 I cook and clean prior to Christmas so I do bare minimum that night. Good job. 👏

invest in a little handheld steamer. It is FABULOUS for deep cleaning. You can steam hard stuff like the glaze on the stove, windows, fridge etc and they are only like $30-$40

Hi Ashley I really enjoyed that and so pleased you had a good Christmas. My kids are grown up so alot of the gifts where clothes, trainers, chocolate and money. We had wrapping paper all over the lounge but my hubby is super efficient picking it up and putting it in a trash bag. We had a really nice day and dinner with all the trimmings. My dog had gifts to unwrap too she loved it. I love Christmas its my favourite time of the year and I love to watch my family opening gifts its great! Anyway see you the next one can't wait xx
A got my son a light up jellyfish lamp for his birthday and it’s never leaked. I got it on Amazon. It works great and it’s in his room on his long standing cubbie shelf. The one with the pull out bins. I forget what it’s called. The one I got him was around 40 dollars

My husband is a very thoughtful gift person he always takes care of his brother and his family and his mom this year it takes the headache out of what to get for them,my kids are easy my Grandaughter loves horses so she’s easy it looks like you all had a great Christmas we did too have a great time on your getaway ❤
My husband has always cleaned up the wrapping paper as we open the gifts so i don't have to do it later 😊 our kids are all grown so we just had our son and his wife and one of my brothers for dinner ive taken all the decorations down now have a fabulous rest of the week pretty friend ❤💞🎄😘

Hi Ashley thanks for the cleaning motivation. My kids are all grown now so it’s always watching the grandkids make this kind of mess. But I still help my daughter with it because I always spend Christmas at her place. It’s over now but we are still having gifts come over so it still gets messy lol. Do you know there’s like a black screen that takes up half of the video? It shows the products you use but the screen is covering up half the video page. Is it just me? I'm the same way with the anxiety part. I get so jittery, like I can't concentrate or relax if my atmosphere is chaotic and messy.

It’s mostly the mom and dads who have the trash bag or a big box right on the side so they can throw away the ripped up wrapping paper right away and break down boxes to throw away right away. It’s just too much work for some people later in the day. I mean the parents aren’t exactly right behind the kids the second they open all their presents but they just don’t want to deal with it later. Especially if relatives come over later in the day to exchange more gifts. Of course, everyone is different.
Our family is the immediately get the trash in the bag and place the presents in an orderly stack near you . We let any children open all their gifts first then the adults go after. We cannot stand to have paper and stuff everywhere it gives us anxiety. Once we are all done opening make the thank you calls and then put the toys in their places and take them out while you are playing with them. I love decorating before the holidays but all decor gets put away before New Years with trees coming down the day of or after Christmas.

My husband insisted on the big trash bag that the kids had to put the boxes& wrappings in, but, honestly there wouldn't have been room to play w/their toys otherwise.
I’m the one who cleans as we go. Unfortunately I broke my foot and so this year it didn’t work out.

I have to ask after watching quite a few of these videos now …. Does noone in America recycle??? We’d never be able to throw all that rubbish in our own bins in the UK!! Thanks for sharing Ashley, hope youve had a lovely Christmas break xx

@cyberirv1 Yes, people in America recycle. I’m so sorry you think Americans don’t. There may be some people who throw just all of the trash and in one trash bin but most of us have separate trash bins and recycling bins too. I have a recycle bin and so do my neighbors, and most of my city has a recycling bin and the landfill (or city dump) outside of my city or any city in America, they have machines to recycle the trash. We also have a green trash can for our grass clippings, leaves, just anything that’s trimmed, pruned, and cut, is all put in the green bin and that gets taken away and most of it is also recycled to be made in to mulch. Whatever you see in videos from America, remember, that’s just one person you might believe that all of Americans are like that. Just like we think or told or seen in movies, that all of the UK only likes to drink tea in little tea cups and also never show emotions, “Stiff upper lip old chap”.. And we ask, do all of the people in the UK do that? (Whatever it may be). And if some people here in the U.S. does throw all of their garbage in one bin, the people at the landfills will separate still to have most of it recycled. I promise you. Lol 😁
