Even if you start with the perfect fit, it will stretch in a few months time to become too loose. There is however an easy fix. Soaking it in hot water (125° F) for about 20 minutes then letting it dry out on a flat surface overnight will restore it to its original size. It does not have to be exactly 125° F but that’s what worked for me.
That’s if you’re lucky enough if you’re not a thin-wristed man who still wants to go with a 45mm watch 😬 The smallest band available to me would still be too wide even without being stretched
Really is, £49 it should be and even then that's pricey. Can't believe they are charging £99 for essentially a braided rubber band. Tried one on in store though and it's very comfortable.
Same experience for me with the solo band. I measured a 7, and even borderline 8. I even tried taking a like a half inch off the measurement to see if it would recommend a size down and I was still a 7. For daily wear it’s probably good, very slightly loose for my liking, but the comfort of the somewhat looser fit makes the watch disappear on the wrist. I then ordered a size 5 to use for working out and that’s been perfect for how snug I like it for working out. I feel like 6 would be the sweet spot if I just wanted to use one band. Conversely my wife prefers the slightly looser fit.
Apples guide is way off, tried the printable one and even tried the official Apple one they have in store and both recommended I was a 10/11. When I tried a 10 in store it was hanging off my wrist. If I held my arm straight out I could have passed the body of an Apple watch between the band and my wrist with the gap, ridiculous. Eventually found the perfect size which was about the same tightness as my nike sports band was and that was a size 7. Apple needs to tweak this measurement tool as it's terrible. A decent measurement tool would be basing it on the rubber sports band that most probably have. So if you have a M/L and use hole 3 here is you recommended size solo loop size, bet this would be tons more accurate.
Same here. I used Apple’s guide and a measuring tape and they gave differing sizes by two, needless to say I didn’t order the Series 6. No Apple stores are open in the UK so no new Apple Watch for me and no money for Apple.
The Apple sizing tool that I printed off had me at the exact cutoff between 6 and 7. I ordered a 5. It fits great-snug enough so it doesn’t move around but not too tight. $100 is too much for it.
When I measured, I used a bendy ruler, and I wrapped it as tight as I possibly could around my wrist and took the measurement. Because I knew it would at least expand a little with time. And I got a perfect from that. I think most people when they took their measurement, took it to where they might feel it feels comfortable. Don't do that, go as tight as you can when you take the measurement, you'll get a good fit
I was recommended a size 7 as well and I took a chance and went with the size 5 and it fits perfectly. It’s the most comfortable Apple Watch band that I have ever had yes $100 is a little pricey but if comfort matters to you I would highly recommend this band
On the apple website there is a template you can print and you have to wrap it around your arm, and then it will show what the size is, then you can select that size. Or you can go to apple
I don't have a solo loop or solo braided loop but I have a sport loop and its good. The tricky thing with getting tightness just right is that the wrist size changes ever so slightly when you go from a fist to an open hand. So depending on who you are and which hand is your dominant hand and which wrist you wear your watch on. You might be like me and try to find a size that is good for both your smallest size (holding a fist) and largest size (holding a completely open hand). That is something to consider when getting a band like the one in the video (the solo loop or the braided solo loop) especially considering it is a fixed, one-size band (non-adjustable)
If your ordering a new Apple watch, you can select the braided sport loop as your default band. I ordered a series 6 and chose the braided sport loop band in the blue featured above. What was interesting was I received a grey sport loop rubbery band as well (the standard $50 band). I will say I ordered the size 7 band, according to Apple’s measurement suggestion, and it’s a tad bit loose then what I would like. It fits but it’s just not as snug as I prefer. I’m going to exchange it for a size 6. I suggest if you are going to get this watch band, order a size down from what Apple suggests unless you like the loose fit. I’m not sure adorning a loose fit will affect the sensors that need to maintain contact with your wrist?
The braided loop is so nice. Causal elegance, which fits the Apple Watch perfectly. It’s a casual device. The Milanese band is a bit too pretentious, and the sport bands are just tacky. So this one fits the Apple Watch perfectly. To me at least. But yes, it’s kinda pricey.
Used the measurement band and came slightly between 7 and 8, and based on Apples recommendations I got the 7. Got to loose not long after daily use and now just sits in the drawer. As Apple launched a new braided design today, the Unity band, I`ve decided to try a 6 and see if that one holds up longer.
I used the sizing tool but then went in store to try it on. I was between 5 and 6 online, but 4 was more comfortable in person. I’d say round down, and then go down a size again
What is the circumference of your wrist? Online it suggested a 6 for me and seeing that he’d prefer a size 5 is concerning (I have skinny girly wrists)
I have one on order but I'm curious for those that already have one - how much do you see the metallic part? I have the graphite watch and the connector appears to be regular stainless...worried about color matching...
i actually end up getting a rash from the silicon material they use in the standard bands so im using the braided band "same color" works and feels perfect for me.
I had the rash, exactly the same! I'm in talks with Apple at the moment, who have said I can send in the silicone one and get a replacement from them... now trying to work out which will be best to buy!

I've never seen a case for an Apple watch before, they always seem pretty indestructable already (much more resiliant than traditional watches that can cost up to $20k or more). How ever did you manage to smash that one?! I've had Apple watches sine 2016 and I'm always banging mine on door frames, tables, etc., but I've never even managed to scratch it. Did you hit it with a hammer?
I measured at 7 and thanks to your input I bought a 6 and fits perfectly so I would say just buy one smaller size than what you measure..... But still $99 is a lot for it
I measure right at 7” and was recommended 7/8...so I ordered the size 6. It feels very snug maybe a little too much but I would rather it feel more snug rather than a little too lose. I already notice the band feeling a little bit looser after wearing it for 3 hours...so I think the size 6 is perfect for me. 🖤😎🖤 Update: Well I had to send the size 6 back and get a size 7. The 6 felt nice and snug however as the day went on it would get much snugger...especially when weight training at the gym where my whole arm expands. The 6 was getting so snug at the gym that my fingers were getting cold. Now using the size 7 it is not as snug as the size 6 but still perfectly snug enough and I prefer the slightly looser feeling which allows room for when my wrist expands throughout the day from fluids etc.
specifically there's been a stated issue that the sizes were off by 2 sizes when using the apple measurement tool. exchange that go down a size that's way too big on your wrist.
There is almost a full size difference between the 2 Apple cases. Does Apple account for this? Seems like it would make a difference. If I order the 44 mm case, I should go down 1 full size, if the tool is based on the 40 mm watch, or did they just average the case size at 42? So who has an actual watch band (of a known size number) that they can measure? 2/7/22 - update. My blue apple band which initially was tight, has stretched to be unusable and i only wore it occasionally not everyday. Waste of money. I picked up some aftermarket bands on Amazon for about $9 that fit nicely and appear to be same as apple band. At least when they stretch i wont feel like i overpaid.

For those that already own a watch. Why couldn’t they use the hole you use on the regular sports band as a reference to point you in the right direction?
I really want to pick up one of these when Apple adds more stock. I didn’t really get a good feel for them on the website and Apple store app but seeing them in person I really want one. And really I don’t care about price because I’ve been using the same black silicone band for 5 years on 2 different Apple watches. My wrist is 16 cm - Apple's recommendation would be a 6 or 7 depending on how tight I placed the printable tool. I decided to go with a 5 after watching iJustine's review and I knew a wanted it to sit firmly on the wrist without sliding while still being comfortable. This video made me cancel the order and place a new one for a size 4. Hoping it will be a perfect fit!

@@florentinw Got my watch today. It works well, it might be bit on the tighter side, works well for workouts and blood oxygen measuring. It is not the braided version, I think I might get one size larger braided one.
Knowing Apple, the spring event might have new band’s probably and they might do more colors for the solo loops especially the braided ones since those are the most popular ones right now
No, it’s not recommended to be loose, it should be snug but not tight otherwise you’ll have issues with it trying to monitor heart rate, blood oxygen, etc.
Went to buy my Series 6 at my local Apple store, I asked them if they have any available solo loop band and I was told they do but they haven't check all of their inventories yet bc they're still busy. lmao

Do you have protective case for your Apple Watch? If yes, can you provide name? Thanks!
I suggest rhinoshield . I use mine on series 6
Great video, what is that case on your watch?
I think I measured between 7-8, so I ordered 6 based on what I read from others, I wonder how it works and feels...
Please keep me updated
@@florentinw Well, the site says I have to wait two weeks for it to arrive.
@@florentinw Got my watch today. It works well, it might be bit on the tighter side, works well for workouts and blood oxygen measuring. It is not the braided version, I think I might get one size larger braided one.
Thanks! I measured between 6-7, tried 7 and now got a 5 braided loop, which is the perfect size for me
I bought the size 6 44mm green braided loop, and it was wayyy too big :( I was really sad!
Do they smell eventually?
so i used the apple watch sizer and i bought a size 7. and it was perfect for me. sooooo idk i wouldnt go a size down for me.
I really wish Apple would release purple watch bands 😭
Etsy/eBay
There ya go
hireikana18 I want actual Apple ones lol
Lexie Cassel fair enough, but those two are there if ya just gotta have one now lol
Knowing Apple, the spring event might have new band’s probably and they might do more colors for the solo loops especially the braided ones since those are the most popular ones right now
They did. The color is called Ultra Violet. $100 on eBay from charger store. Also, the Hyper Grape Nike bands has purple on them.
What happened to the watch? Looks like it is covered in packing still?
It’s a protective cover for the case
I think they’ll replicate it, doesn’t seem hard to do. They’ve done it before
Ok braid or silicon?
No, it’s not recommended to be loose, it should be snug but not tight otherwise you’ll have issues with it trying to monitor heart rate, blood oxygen, etc.
I ordered my series 6 today with the blue braided strap. I ordered a (size 5) which I’m hoping will fit my small wrist
Honestly, if your wrist really that small, a size 5 might be too big. I have a small-medium sized wrist and it was kinda loose.
song name outro?
will apple return the oversized $100 band for the right sized band
Definitely!
Went to buy my Series 6 at my local Apple store, I asked them if they have any available solo loop band and I was told they do but they haven't check all of their inventories yet bc they're still busy. lmao
Hi Daniel! Great review. Could you please tell me the size of your wrist in centimetres? Cheers - keep up the good work!
It's about 16.8 CM!
will the solo loop bands work with apple watch 3
Definitely!
