Excellent video! I am from Mexicali and I am a 4th generation descendant of Chinese heritage. Indeed is the Chinese influence very much an integral part of our culture. Growing up, I could not tell the difference between those with mixed Chinese and Mexican ancestry because to me they all looked like my family. To me, Chinese and Mexican culture was one and the same and it wasn't until I moved away from Mexicali and I met other Mexicans that did not share my same understanding of the culture I grew up in. Nevertheless, I was shocked to discover that those ingredients we associate so much with Mexican cuisine - the tamarind, lime, cilantro, chamoy, and saladitos - are originally from China! I also did not know that the chili pepper was not native to Asia, my wife cooks many traditional Hmong dishes that make heavy use of the Thai Chili Pepper in a dipping sauce and while a different kind of spicy for me, they always give me a satisfying taste of my own Mexico.

That is one of the most interesting vid from CGTN. A lot of the South American restaurant serve Chaulafan or tallarin, which is fried rice and fried noodle. Didnt know Chinese have more influence on Mexican than the South American one.

I am a Chinese Mexican, despite all that my ancestors went through here, Mexico learned better in the long run how to integrate others (with the unfortunate exception of the current situation with Haitians, Central Americans, and Venezuelans), though despite this situation, thanks to the Constitution of 1917 that prohibits classifying people by race, we have also integrated waaaaay better than any of our distant cousins have in the USA.
