I was in Manila once in 1992 (I was probably a bit younger at at that time than you are now), and I have bad memories of it. Almost everyone stared at me like an alien (I didn't see any other Europeans anywhere else either), I was often approached, asked to go into stores or clubs, and children once even tried to reach into my pockets because they thought I had money in them. In your video, it basically looks the same as I remember it from back then. I didn't like it because of the great poverty and zero sights and wouldn't want to go there again. I was only there for three days to break up a flight from Australia to Europe.

Great video! Some advise, the reason you are sweating so much, look at yourself and what you are wearing on your body compared to the locals. You are wearing thicker collared shirt. and boxers. etc. locals are wearing Thinly made t-shirts, or sando shirts aka sleeves shirts and flip flops , no socks etc. So they are cooler and their body can 'breathe'. Strongly consider changing your clothes and underwear while you are in the Philippines so you don't suffer so much in the heat. You are making yourself hotter than you need to be because you are wearing thicker made clothing that you brought from the UK. which is a lot colder/ different climate. Dress appropriately for the climate you are currently in. The color black absorbs a lot more heat. Get a few local inexpensive WHITE t-shirts , no collar, short sleeve or sleeveless. Local clothes are made from thinner materials. Also get a small hand towel dunk it in ice water and bring it with you so you can wipe your face/neck with it as you walk to keep cooler. An Umbrella to provide shade as you walk is acceptable there too. It's not just for rain. Good luck and I hope u enjoy your visit to the Philippines.
