The album this song came off of "A.M" is full of classic songs like this, If you want to check out more from the album, "Fireside" and "Arabella" are my personal favourites. Fireside is a bit melancholy, Arabella is straight up rock and roll in the best way possible.
Also check out “Why’d you only call me when you’re high” , “Are you mine” and “Flourescent Adolescent” “Do I wanna Know” has a hypnotic music video that my kids love but is not so appropriate.😗)
Favourite Worst Nightmare is one of the best albums of all time IMO. So many amazing songs: "If You Were There, Beware" is a masterpiece. "505" is a classic anthem. "Do Me A Favour" is incredible. Every song is great in its own way. Work your way through this album, you won't be disappointed...
I was introduced to Arctic Monkeys when they opened for the Black Keys in Philly years ago. I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks guys. Have a great day everyone! ✌️ n ❤
Scummy man is a must by Arctic Monkeys but honestly every song is a banger and hearing that Sheffield accent coming through fills my little Northern heart.
The Arctic monkeys are one of the best rock bands of reacnt times, you should check out the song I bet you look good on the dance floor the song that kicked off their career
You must react to live Arctic Monkeys....Brian storm at Glastonbury....amazing. Anything off AM worth a listen...thanks guys, love your reactions...& your own material 💜 love & light from South Wales UK 💜🏴🌻
I believe that you were talking about THE ARCTIC MONKEYS when you were watching ROYAL BLOOD’s “FIGURE IT OUT.” The drummer was wearing their concert shirt . 💗💗
Man I just found you all today and I’ve been binging your videos all afternoon. You’re some great dudes and you have the same taste in music I do, so I don’t know how I never found this channel before but I’m glad I finally did! Lol
Since nobody mentioned it, Josh Homme (QOTSA) produced some of their stuff and sang backup on 2 songs on the album this song was from. I feel Josh really influenced the band as well as them influencing Josh.
The album "AM" that this song is off is amazing, my fave song being "R U Mine?". They've been blowing up the scene however, since thier 2006 debut album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not". My fave songs off that album are "When The Lights Go Down" & "I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor". I think you'll be throughly impressed with the lads from Sheffield.
Such a great band! Soo many bangers - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, Brianstorm, Teddy Picker, When The Sun Goes Down, Flourecent Adolescent, Fake Tales of San Francisco, Crying Lightning, R U Mine?...
They're from Sheffield in England, I live 10 minutes down the road from there, there's some awesome bands from sheffield. I love that he sings in his accent too. I bet that you look good on the dance floor is a banger (official video though) oh, and a settee is what some Brits call a sofa 😅 nice reaction chaps
The Arctic monkeys have so many good songs, Brianstorm, Fluorescent adolescent, Mardy Bum, Do me a favor, Arabella, Snap out of it and When the sun goes down.
This is my favourite Arctic Monkeys song 💚🙌 So glad you started with this! Would love to see your reactions to these songs from them- When The Sun Goes Down Arabella R U Mine
Catching up and just saw this reaction! Welcome to the Artic Monkeys, as some have said, great album AM. Someone described this album as one where you think you need a shower after playing it! Their back catalogue is immense. I'd start with their first album and the energized Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor. They are an immense live band so search out live versions. My favourites include: 505, Do me a Favour, Fireside, My Propeller, Cornerstone, R U Mine, The View From the Afternoon (official video), When the Sun Goes Down for starters! Enjoy!
Amazing song! The Arctic monkeys have been around for a little while now and their sound has progressively changed with each album. They started off with a kind of Northern England cheeky chappie sound and moved along into a more grown up, bluesy rock sound. If you want to go back to the beginning then go for "When the sun goes down" next.
You should check out their first single - I Bet you look good on the Dance floor. It put them on the map instantly. Followed up by one of the best debut albums of the noughties
Honestly, listen to anything by these guys, they're gold. The name comes from an insult hurled at natives of Sheffield, the Northern English city they're from.
One of those where you’ll have to listen to their albums through to appreciate the stories properly, but bangers in every album and their newest is a completely different direction but they’ve consistently changed album by album
Each song on the album was written as if the songs were hip hop tracks, locking in the drums and bass first. They go into detail about it in interviews
it was classified as indy rock back in the day, i kmow that much lol.try checking out the song arabella its super dope, but a more b side track. for something more popular ,check out are you mine.
Plenty of bangers from these like The View from the Afternoon, I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor, Riot Van, Mardy Bum, When the Sun Goes Down, From the Ritz to the Rubble, Brianstorm, Fluorescent Adolescent and many more!
idk if you guys only take patreon requests but theres this UNBELIEVABLY underrated band called Sick Century and it'd be sick if you check out one of their songs (I recommend "Delerium" or "Winter Rain") [Also if you want more arctic monkey I recommend "R U Mine "and "Why'd you only call when you're high"]
This video has been out for a few months but its worth checking out The last shadow puppets which is the lead singers other band. Their song Sweet dreams TN is one of their best and is such a good vocal performance.
I can guarantee they say it and it's on the list. Trust me. Sometimes it takes some time. If you get a like from them that means they read it amd they wrote down the song. That's a good song too
@@knotvocalcovers5436 they read every single comment. You could also join the paytreon. It will guarantee your request and the paytreon community is very friendly almost like family. Super simple but oh so effective and catchy rhythm-wise, plus the lyrics are cool and his singing flow (and accent lol) make it even better. Would say you should check their song ‘I bet that you look good on the dance floor’ for a good rocking time
For me, the first album is the best. And the first track in the album is a good place to start "A view from the afternoon" But also "When the sun goes down" "Mardy bum" and the very mellow "Riot Van" all worth checking out.
They're from my home town of Sheffield Yorkshire UK. One of the lines is have got summat in your teeth....Summat (Something.) is Yorkshire...as is Setee which is a sofa.
At least Arctic Monkeys!!! May be you should start the Mondays Monkeys, 'cause there are a lot themes to react! My recomendation, "Knee shocks" " From the ritz to the rouble" " R U mine" Regards From Spain!! 🤘
There’s a Racing game (In my opinion the best one of all time) called -The Crew- on console and I think PC, it was already my favorite game ever but this song and the rest of the soundtrack made it a 12/10, this song brings chills to me every time because it brings me back to when I’d play this 24/7 a long time ago with my brother❤ amazing song
“Northern Monkeys” is a derogatory term for people of northern England I’m pretty sure. The bands drummer (Matt Helders) Dad had a band with the name Arctic Monkeys. Alex Turner (the lead singer) has said when they first started playing gigs at pubs they were told they needed a name, so they just went with Arctic Monkeys. They thought it was a stupid name and that they’d change it later, but they’d started getting super popular so they stuck with it
As regards the name, The Arctic Monkeys are from Sheffield, which is in Yorkshire in the North of England (South Yorkshire rather than my native West Yorkshire, but you can't have it all) and a somewhat derogatory term for people who live in the North of England is Northern Monkeys. As the Arctic is as Northern as you can get...
To add: 'that's what The Arctic Monkeys sound like' - Yes and no. They've been around for a bit, and their sounds has evolved a lot. I'm more of a fan of their earlier, somewhat rockier, stuff than their later work, but there's people who are diametrically opposed. Whichever era you choose, you're going to get witty lyrics with a depth and rhythm you boys should love and a healthy dose of English/Yorkshire slang you might find confusing (A settee is a sofa or couch btw). Look up 'When The Sun Goes Down', 'A Certain Romance', 'I bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor', 'Mardy Bum' (one of the songs the Mrs and I count as 'ours'), and 'Fluorescent Adolescent ', then contrast and compare with 'One Point Perspective', 'Four Out Of Five', 'She Looks Like Fun', and 'Sculptures Of Anything Goes'.
They said they wanted this album to sound like "a psychedelic rock opera on a Dr. Dre beat" or something along those lines. Good headphones and some good... substances... make it even better. I believe "settee" is like a coffee table or something similar. I had to look it up myself tbh lol. They're from the UK so there's a few phrases that seem odd to us Americans.
This whole album is fantastic. It’s one you can play front to back without a single complaint
its the only arctic monkeys album i like
