'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' was their 1st big hit in 2005. I remember the 1st time hearing it, it caught my ear, and I went and sat next to the radio waiting for the presenter to announce who the band was..
I first caught them on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show. I was one of the 120,000 that bought the first album the day it came out! Still one of my favourite albums today. Doesn't hurt that I'm from Sheffield and that accent sounds so good.

I think they're possibly the best band of my generation. They have it all; tight musicians (especially the drummer) and Alex Turner is one of the best lyricists I've ever heard, he's actually got bars like a rapper rather than just repeating catchy choruses

I met my husband because of the Arctic Monkeys. We worked in the same place in different departments and we got chatting at a work function one afternoon when he happened to mention that they’re his favourite band. I told him my you get sister had gone to uni in Sheffield where they lived and started up and had been to some of their early small gigs and been out with them and we talked for hours. He came to mine the following night to listen to some of their music and never left.

Retro futurism, composed on a piano (not guitar)... It’s a concept album, so it’s a story that seamlessly plays through the tracks, with a couple standout hits (like the title track TBH+C and Four Stars Out of Five). I think if you ever have the chance to listen and read through the annotations on genius, go for it. It’s the one you’ll really wanna close your eyes to 🤩

Arctic Monkeys are fantastic, you can't go wrong with anything of theirs! Kasabian are a similar type of band but are brilliant in their own way, give them a go!

Getting the chills watching this. First time listening to this song sent shivers through my body. Arctic Monkeys my favourite band all time for ever the past decade. Since about 08’ when I first heard them when they were still pretty new. One of those bands where you love 99% of ALL of there songs from all albums. Another band like this for me is “Inner Wave” check them out

I was watching you get all hyped and it made me bob my head and smile and just overflow with amazement at this song. I love what you’re doing man👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Appreciation towards music displayed in such an intricate way, like the way you talked about the lyrics and the way he sang and everything in between, makes me so happy. That made me appreciate music so much more.

I don’t see anyone recommending it but their latest album Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino is SO GOOD. Retro futurism, composed on a piano (not guitar)... It’s a concept album, so it’s a story that seamlessly plays through the tracks, with a couple standout hits (like the title track TBH+C and Four Stars Out of Five). I think if you ever have the chance to listen and read through the annotations on genius, go for it. It’s the one you’ll really wanna close your eyes to 🤩

"I bet you look good on the dance floor" and "when the sun goes down" are absolute bangers. Especially considering the age of the guys when they were released. They were barely out of school. Check them out.
They're from my hometown, just a few miles from my own upbringing (they're from High Green, Sheffield, UK, while I'm from the Foxhill/Parson Cross area of Sheffield).
