@@markuchiha7737 i took two Advil, put some ear drops and hydrogen peroxide in there and lastly I took a sock and put rice in it, warmed it up for 1-1:30 minutes placed it on my ear and within a hour the pain was gone.
For me it's hurts to open and close my jaw I can't eat anything cause it hurts to move it for even a milimeter Meaning I have to keep my jaw in a slightly opened position

These are different self-massages that I didn't see in other videos. I already saw a ENT when this first started in 2012 and they ruled out an ear issue. So I think I need to see a professional physical therapist thank you for helping clear the confusion of what to do/who to go to. I wish I knew this back in 2012 when it originally started, so i'm sure you will help people who just started experiencing TMJ pains. Mine gets so bad these days that sometimes my ear closes up completely for a full day due to TMJ pressure. Chris P
Hey Chris, make sure to do the self massage technique I showed in this video. A massage therapist should also be able to help! I wonder if you have some Eustachian tube dysfunction as well based on your "closes up" comment.
Perhaps, i'll look more into ETD. Whenever it it does close up, I usually massage the muscles around my TMJ and behind the ear, as well as hold my nose and blow to "pop" my ears. That so far has been the way that I get it back to normal. Does this sound like it would effect the Eustachian tube?

Have had this earache for a week and having severe ear pain today Doing this exercise dropped the pain from a 9 to an 8 almost immediately. One thing that was working for me was to tilt your head sideways with the clogged ear and bring your head down to a low altitude. Whether it’s the bottom of your house or something like that, the low altitude can pop it with time.

I have TMJ really badly. When I eat it hurts so badly. Right now I have a lump under my ear right now and pain as well. I don't know why it hurts or if its hurting from my TMJ. I've had bad ear pain, Jaw pain, throat pain for 3 months now and I've been to 10 specialists. 5 ents who have told me my ears look perfectly normal, but I tell them how could this be if my ears hurts non stop. I do here some click on each side everytime I open my jaw. I have also developed tinnitus and I don't know what else to do. This is exteemyl stressful and pain ful and no doctor understands it because my ears look perfectly normal and my vestibular nerve, hearing test are normal.

@@Najib_Op Hi! Sorry I didn't see your reply earlier. I'm actually doing better now, I did some face and jaw exercises daily, then, my jaw clicking and locking is gone now. It still comes back from time to time though without the ear pain, but not as painful as before. I also try to sleep on my back now; I loved sleeping on my stomach, with my head facing to the side, which causes my jaw to be pushed upward. I can still feel that may jaw on the right opens faster than my left, but it's fine, it doesn't hurt.

I'm going trough this right now! I don't know if my streesed muscles on my neck is causing my pain on my ear. It's like a throbbing pain on my ear and jaw area!
I was able to rule out ear infection by experimenting with nights when I try to avoid sleeping with my head turned to the left and then sleeping with it to the left purposely. When I would sleep on the left side awake long enough, I would notice the pain slowly creeping in. I also further ruled out what I initially thought was an ear issue by doing recommended exercises I saw online and the sensation I was having immediately went away for about an hour or so at a time after doing them. I have just started doing this, so we'll see if I can correct it on my own, but now I think it is most likely related to sleeping with my elbow and hand to my face in the past when napping on a chair and I messed myself up.

Hello, I'm trying to figure out what on earth is going on with me. About almost a week ago, both of my ears were starting to hurt unexpectedly so I went to a health clinic. There is nothing noticeablly wrong with my ears; looking at them with the naked eye. No redness, swelling, discharge etc. So the doctor said that it was an infection of the outer ear & prescribed me with an ear drop & some ibuprofen. But nothing is helping & the pain in my ears have gotten severely WORSE! Then just yesterday, all of a sudden the right side of my jaw started hurting & locking up on me & now I can't open my mouth very wide without being in excruciating pain... I have no clue what's going on & it's really starting to scare me. I can't even lay on either side of my face due to the severe pain in my ears. Gonna go see my primary doc & see if she can refer me to an ears, nose & throat doctor. Can you or someone in the comments maybe help me out at all? Like, does any of my symptoms sound familiar?

I can't find the 'mystery condition' I have on YT or on Mayo clinic chat--a large group of us have severe, unexplained outer ear cartilage sensitivity. it is so sensitive, we cannot lie down with the ear touching anything, not even a pillow! no side sleeping for any of us and it sucks. a hat or phone touching the ear for a normal period of time causes pain. the condition is not relapsing polychondritis and it is not an inner ear autoimmune disease (yes that's a thing) could it be tmj? i have no jaw pain- this absolutely sucks. good luck everyone
@@remielabraham5803 for TMJ i did "Mewing" through a whole day once and the pain kinda reduce for a bit, then i do light stretch everyday. (you can search both method on youtube). And it's just cured by itself after 3 weeks 😁

@@ruksp.8520 Yes my mother bought me ear drops but that didn’t really help so she ended up getting me alcohol for cuts it helps for infections as well I added a little bit of alcohol in my ear then I felt a hole bunch of bubbles coming out from my ear that’s when you no you have an ear infection. But mostly I would take a pain Phil it helps a lot to get better sleep you should keep the alcohol in your ear give it a few seconds so the liquid can clean inside your ear specially if you have a blocked ear. I lasted about 10 days with ear pain so please just drink a pain Phil if the pain hurts really bad and don’t wear any headphones and stay away from loud sounds do not sleep on your effected ear.Another thing that can help if you get a hot wet rag and place it on your infected ear. give it a few days and see what happens if the pain continues please see a doctor it might be something worse then just ear pain.

If that is the case, it is HIGHLY likely that it is your Eustachian tube that is having problems.

For me tight and stiff neck definitely causes issues with tmj and jaw pain and ear pain

I was able to rule out ear infection by experimenting with nights when I try to avoid sleeping with my head turned to the left and then sleeping with it to the left purposely. When I would sleep on the left side awake long enough, I would notice the pain slowly creeping in. I also further ruled out what I initially thought was an ear issue by doing recommended exercises I saw online and the sensation I was having immediately went away for about an hour or so at a time after doing them. I have just started doing this, so we'll see if I can correct it on my own, but now I think it is most likely related to sleeping with my elbow and hand to my face in the past when napping on a chair and I messed myself up.

Hello, I'm trying to figure out what on earth is going on with me. About almost a week ago, both of my ears were starting to hurt unexpectedly so I went to a health clinic. There is nothing noticeablly wrong with my ears; looking at them with the naked eye. No redness, swelling, discharge etc. So the doctor said that it was an infection of the outer ear & prescribed me with an ear drop & some ibuprofen. But nothing is helping & the pain in my ears have gotten severely WORSE! Then just yesterday, all of a sudden the right side of my jaw started hurting & locking up on me & now I can't open my mouth very wide without being in excruciating pain... I have no clue what's going on & it's really starting to scare me. I can't even lay on either side of my face due to the severe pain in my ears. Gonna go see my primary doc & see if she can refer me to an ears, nose & throat doctor. Can you or someone in the comments maybe help me out at all? Like, does any of my symptoms sound familiar?
Ear infections don't typically lock up your jaw in my experience. You need to do the Masseter muscle stretch that I showed in the video.

Do braces cause this problem? Cause I'm facing this problem over 6 months now. It gets fixed and it comes back again now I'm used to it but it's super annoying.
Braces can cause this. Try the stretches. If they don't work, have your doctor check your ears.

I can't find the 'mystery condition' I have on YT or on Mayo clinic chat--a large group of us have severe, unexplained outer ear cartilage sensitivity. it is so sensitive, we cannot lie down with the ear touching anything, not even a pillow! no side sleeping for any of us and it sucks.
a hat or phone touching the ear for a normal period of time causes pain.
the condition is not relapsing polychondritis and it is not an inner ear autoimmune disease (yes that's a thing)

@@remielabraham5803 for TMJ i did "Mewing" through a whole day once and the pain kinda reduce for a bit, then i do light stretch everyday. (you can search both method on youtube).
And it's just cured by itself after 3 weeks 😁

Hello Doctor, I've been having pain in the vocal cords for a long time. I have shown to many doctors that you have a reflex of E.N.T. I have been avoiding sleep for a long time. There is no difference between incline bed and gold idol! As I sing, my vocal cords get tired quickly. I have had this problem for 8 years. Then I heard about TMJ. When I eat something hard, it pulls on the muscles. And has a VOCAL PAIN. Please fix me. Thank you very much.

@Doctor Cliff - Does the thinning of articular disc heal? Can that be a cause of pain in the ear / TMJ when trying to open the jaw entirely. Will these same exercises help in the healing process and or should I try something else?

@@ruksp.8520 Yes my mother bought me ear drops but that didn’t really help so she ended up getting me alcohol for cuts it helps for infections as well I added a little bit of alcohol in my ear then I felt a hole bunch of bubbles coming out from my ear that’s when you no you have an ear infection. But mostly I would take a pain Phil it helps a lot to get better sleep you should keep the alcohol in your ear give it a few seconds so the liquid can clean inside your ear specially if you have a blocked ear. I lasted about 10 days with ear pain so please just drink a pain Phil if the pain hurts really bad and don’t wear any headphones and stay away from loud sounds do not sleep on your effected ear.Another thing that can help if you get a hot wet rag and place it on your infected ear. give it a few days and see what happens if the pain continues please see a doctor it might be something worse then just ear pain.
